  1. I only recently found this series and binged both seasons.  Then I read the books.  While there are issues with plots I just really love this show.  The actors really bring the characters to life.  So looking forward to season 3.

I really enjoy non book character Kyra a lot in both seasons.  The dynamics between her, Alex and Tom were a lot of fun (the basketball scene really cracked me up.  Tom, never change!)

The ending certainly sets the stage for season 3!

  2. Agree, Muppets add nothing, but the rest of the craziness is just as enjoyable as ever!  To answer the above question regarding the Polecano, the zipline stops to enhance the chance the contestant will fall into the water of course.  I really thought Jaime did great and so glad she won.  Happy this silly show is back.

  3. This episode was so fun and I just love Joe and Rob.  I wish the dinosaurs interacted more with that hole, but the mud pit, and Rob's glee at the mud pit, were great.  The side 'saddle' joust:  those contestants using this method do not stand a chance.  lol  Loved all the new holes, ad I just laugh so much during this show.

I don't understand why JJ just right off believed the defendant just because she denied the accusations?

I *think* its because the plaintiff has the burden of proof and had nothing that actually proved the defendant had taken (tooken since this is JJ after all lol) the items in question.  She denied, so its he said, she said.

Cox Cable decided to leave on vacation unexpectedly partway through this episode.  Did the plaintiff win?  How much did he get.

I, too, wanted to smack the defendants.  They said it wasn't "their" dog.  They were babysitting it for their son - and he lived with them.  That doesn't sound like babysitting.  That sounds like he lived there.

He won his full $5k but the judges were so condescending it made me want to puke.

  6. I was so pissed at yesterdays episode with the 'playful' pitbull biting the delivery dude.  I wanted to bitch slap both defendants repeatedly as they laughed and smirked about their dog biting the delivery guy even after seeing the really nasty hematoma that he received from them not controlling their dog.  Oh, and puncture wounds.  And the judges smiled along with them.  That old fart going on about 'if he (plaintiff) had gone through what I had to go through he wouldn't be here' crap.  How the fuck do you know what HE may have gone through in the past?  Such an ignorant comment.  Hated both of them.

Seriously.  If you remove it yourself, you need a seriously good neck massage.  If you hire someone, you're out a thousand or two or three dollars depending on house size.  Even if it contains asbestos, paying for proper removal of a hazardous material is a tiny blip on the radar of your home's value, before and after.

It's nowhere near as dumb as rejecting a home based on paint color - which HH seems to have backed off of as a recurring storyline, in my limited exposure - given how easy that is to change/have changed, but still an overstated concern.

My parents house had a ton of color, as my Mom was an artist and she chose the color schemes.  It all worked imo, but after my Dad passed and we put it up for sale, it did not sell.  As soon as we changed out the color for a pale beige, it sold.  So dumb.

I don’t get the popcorn ceiling hatred either. Unless you constantly stare at the ceiling, how would it bother you?

My home has it.  Its annoying af lol.  I have changed all of it out  except upstairs which I have not yet renovated.  Because of the texture it catches dust, making it harder to clean and to me, it looks dingy even when it is clean.  Yuck.  But I (obviously) did not let it impact my decision on whether or not to buy the home.

    5 p.m. episodes

    First-

Judge Judy’s Home Improvement Tip! (2021)-Plaintiffs John Haskin IV, Dana Roselli, Krista Sterling, and Jessica Anderson  are suing defendant/former landlord Jennifer Ackley for their security deposits back.  Defendant claims the tenants didn't pay on time every month, and when they moved out she kept the security deposits, ($2200 security ) and she alleges $3500 more damages.

Defendant doesn't have receipts for repairs.  There is some floor damage, and some baseboard trim damages, (JJ says she could fix the trim and drywall holes with wood filler, then a file or sandpaper, and paint the small place you repaired).   Carpet is filthy, and was replaced.   There is some trash, behind the stove, one damaged window blind, more trim.    The fridge plastic bins were damaged.  Tenant blames the defendant's boyfriend for cracking the fridge bins when he brought it in the house.  But fridge was used. $500+ for microhood replacement.

Plaintiffs receive $1524 back, defendant case dismissed.

Follow the Bouncing Ball (2013) -Plaintiff Peter Sayegh  is suing defendant Damian Hearndon, over his injury in a pick up basketball game.   However, defendant claims plaintiff was overly aggressive, and defendant was defending himself.  Litigants didn't know each other before the pickup game.   Plaintiff's jaw was dislocated, but defendant wasn't injured.   JJ's right, if defendant was felt so threatened by plaintiff, why didn't he leave?    So defendant punched the plaintiff.  After the punch, defendant was removed from the game by the gym staff.

    Plaintiff receives medical bills $3,000.

    Second (2019)-

Equestrian Bucks Responsibility-Plaintiff novice horse owner Patricia Tougas suing trainer/saddle fitter Christine Murray over refurbishment of a saddle that didn't work out, and a second saddle.       Defendant re-flocked the used saddle, plaintiff didn't want it, and then wanted a new saddle from the trainer.   The new saddle was $1600, and defendant fitted the saddle to the horse on site at the barn for $75, and witness and plaintiff rode the horse in the saddle.    Plaintiff claims her witness heard all of this at the fitting.  Plaintiff claims she was clearly dissatisfied, and defendant should have known this.   Defendant offered plaintiff the option of trials with demo or used saddles, but a new saddle can't be returned, and sold as new, so sold at a discount.  Plaintiff says she wants a full refund, tax, and fitting fee, and no re-stocking fee.

Plaintiff wanted her regular trainer to evaluate the saddle, and then wanted to return second saddle.   Defendant said that she would refund the saddle minus restocking fee, and no marks on saddle.    Money $1360, was refunded on saddle minus restocking fee (15% restocking fee), and plaintiff cashed the check, so case is done.   Plaintiff says she can't tell that the saddle was new, so she really is a novice rider.

This is where JJ utters the classic statement, "Your behind, your saddle".  As JJ says, since all of this happened at plaintiff's barn, she should have had her trainer come to the barn to look at the saddle fit. (My guess is trainer would charge to go evaluate the saddle, and plaintiff wanted to wait until her usual lesson to have trainer see the saddle fit.   I absolutely believe the defendant's theory, that plaintiff bought the used eBay saddle, which was cheaper, and that's when she wanted to return the new one, which could no longer be sold as new.   If I return something to Best Buy or my local furniture company, I can either get a store credit for the purchase amount applied to buying more furniture, or I lose the restocking fee, which is at least 10%).

Plaintiff also lied in her complaint to the Better Business Bureau, and trashed trainer online.  Plaintiff claims the BBB posting was her mistake, and she'll correct it,.    I saw the BBB complaint, and it doesn't even match what she said in court, and is still up on the BBB site (it still is as of today's rerun).    (JJ should have given defendant money for the BBB complaint that is full of lies.   Saddle fitters work on reputation, and word of mouth, so this will impact defendant's business).

Cases dismissed.    (Once you collect sales tax on a sale, you have to submit it, and you're not getting that back from the state if you do a refund, unless the state does tax refunds.)

Regarding the dueling b-ball players:  I was in agreement until the dumb ass plaintiff was mouthing off in the halterview.  I wanted to punch him in the mouth so bad, so my sympathy reverted to the defendant.  The timing of the old episode with the saddle fitting is perfect:  my new saddle has just arrived, yay!  My saddle fitter is coming to the barn tomorrow morning and will make any small adjustments right before I have my lesson with my trainer.  My fitter had me try various saddles in December, and took numerous measurements of my horse so that the saddle is made specifically to my horse's shape.  That's not to say that it won't fit another horse of similar shape and type, but that is why you order a new one versus a used one.  Plaintiff was an ass and I am glad she lost.  Sad to see that the lies she posted were never taken down.

    5 p.m. episodes-

    First (2021)

Bicyclist’s Ignorance of the Law! (2021) -Plaintiff bicyclist KaLynda Watts suing defendant car driver Alyssa Mincher over an accident, in California, at 7:30 a.m.   However, plaintiff was riding against traffic, which is illegal in California.    Plaintiff consulted an attorney, who refused to accept her case.     Plaintiff says after defendant hit her, that defendant said she was 'late for school', and left the scene.    Plaintiff was riding to school, crossed an apartment driveway, coming up on the passenger side of the defendant's car, and when plaintiff crossed in front, defendant hit her while making a right turn.     As JJ says, defendant couldn't have seen the plaintiff coming from the wrong direction, and she came to a full stop, and then plaintiff crossed in front of the defendant's car.

As JJ points out the accident was plaintiff's fault, and not the defendant's fault.  However, JJ points out she should have given her information to the plaintiff.    Plaintiff says she hasn't ridden her bike since the accident.

Plaintiff case dismissed, because she was at fault in the accident.

While I have no issues with P losing the case, what if it had been a pedestrian walking against traffic (which as far as I know) is allowed?  Doesn't the driver have some duty of care to look both ways?  I always do because we have pedestrians all over the place and even if they are in the wrong, I would prefer to take the few seconds to look rather then hitting someone with my car.

    Teen Pitches Fight

Poor kid had the communication skills of a 14 year old, even though he was 19. His cornbread isn't fully baked yet. His mother scared me! And she didn't even say much - it was just the vibe coming through the TV.

    Just Don’t Do It!

A shout out to the sexy Jeff Black! Why were the producers keeping this in the can for eight years? This guy was beautiful - I'd love to see him working up a sweat on the exercise bike OR moving my furniture. 😁

Back to the case...Judge Judy had it in for him from the get-go. Why?

    A. He was a handsome male.

    B. He was a 22 year old male.

    C. He was a self-employed male.

If you combined the above three into a female, Judge Judy would've chalked it up to 'miscommunication' and a 'misunderstanding' between the litigants. She would have applauded the young woman for being self-employed. If it was a pretty 22 year old female, she would have never accused her of being 'a hustler', etc.  She very possibly would have ruled in her favor by telling the plaintiff 'Next time, get a written contract. She's not responsible for your belongings.' She then would have wished the 22 year old female 'good luck' with her entrepreneurship.

Gender is everything with young adults on Judge Judy's show.

I disagree:  I thought he was a complete, lying tool.  Pretty for sure though!  lol

I feel somehow like Tyra made them an offer they couldn't refuse.  Not sure how but that's my gut instinct.  Like they were feeling desperate for some reason and she came along with the right schpiel at the right time.

lol  stranger things have happened!  I would have preferred her as a contestant versus a host.

I highly recommend going back through his channel and watching all his covid parodies (with some other stuff mixed in, some goofy, some sweet (especially the ones for his wife and son), some more serious; I think the Adele "Hello" parody was the first covid song). He really is a great singer and very funny. (And rather easy on the eyes...)

That's one of the reasons she bugs me.

I love him from these parodies, but was pretty meh about his when he was on The Voice.  I think My Corona was the first one (first one I saw anyway) and it gave me such a much needed laugh!

I was planning on not watching because of how the show runners treated Tom B, and I think he really makes the show, but I caved in and watched.  While Tyra was not as horrible as I thought she would be, she didn't add much either.   Jeannie is my favorite for the moment:  I love her personality and just finished watching Holey Moley with her as host.

I was jumping up and down and cheering for Jack and Ben as they raced against Marco to get the box! Hooray for the boys! 😀 And hooray to Irene and Morag for getting that iguana! They should have charged Ivar and Marco for their dinner. 😏 Hey, Ivar,  in the US  it’s the middle class and working people who pay the taxes not the rich. And you’re the nut for talking to a coconut. 🤪

When Ivar was giving his lecture on the haves and have nots, I want to punch him in the throat.  I don't dislike the guy, but that speech rubbed me the wrong way, given who he is and all.  I hope Irene and Morag reset the iguana trap...could very useful!

  14. Bali woman drove me up a wall, which granted, isn't too hard to do during these stay at home days!  The ing that had my eyes rolling, besides her changeable, fake voice was when she squealed at the rat, stated she didn't want mice or rats in the house, yet in the next scene was commenting on how the men were making a much bigger deal of the critters then she was.  Err...lady, you just squealed because you saw a rat scurry through your roof.  I mean I would have squealed too, but then not make fun of the others.  I doubt she will be there for long.

Ben keeps saying "big players" or something like that, but as Tony clarifies, what he really means is "high profile" players.

Tony keeps calling him and the others 'lions' and the under the radar crew 'hyenas', which is pretty obnoxious.  You aren't as great as you think you are Tony.  Other then that, he hasn't bothered me as much as I expected him too, but I really don't want him to win.

  16. I loved that first pairing of Nick's and I am really liking him as a judge!  I am surprised he let his 4 chair turn go, but happy she was snapped up.  How far will this show be able to go before COVID-19 cancels it?  These battles are all taped ahead of time, but I am not sure when things catch up...

You are forgetting this fundamental JJ legal principle: "only what is inside the four corners of a contract counts and is relevant and it can only be modified in the same manner it was initially agreed to, unless JJ in her infinite wisdom decides otherwise and goes outside the contract or simply throws it out the window."

I hope that when she violates this stipulation, that once, just once, the person throws it back in her face, as I would like to see if she would spontaneously combust.

I looooooooove that Rob's stupid buddy system backfired on him. Not so easy when you aren't playing against handpicked Noobs that are only there to give you an easy win, is it?

Agree!  Also am I the only one who was annoyed by him demanding if Amber's vote was unanimous?  Its a game Rob, deal with it.  Amber getting voted out is fair, and she took it better than he did.  I thought he would be a little more lighthearted about his ouster, since he seems to understand most of the time that this is a game, but nope:  pretty sour for his torch snuffing.  Very glad he is gone (sort of gone, anyway) and I do not think he is going to win his way back, fingers crossed.
