  1. Even more than that was the irony of singing a song about a "Candyman" at a benefit for children being abducted and murdered by a possible pedophile. The song title already had (unintended) drug overtones - a euphemistic term for a drug dealer, which added another layer of irony as some of the boys may have been lured in by the promise of drugs. I'm wondering if Sammy Davis Jr. actually sang that song at that benefit. Yes, it was one of his biggest hits but you would think someone might have thought it was inappropriate in that context. True or not, it was great touch by the writers.
