  1. I have yet to warm to Caroline and Celia, but Gary's obnoxious mate make them seem more tolerable by comparison. I sensed something bad was in store for Kate as soon as she said she was driving somewhere. The hour seemed to stretch on (in a good way), there was a lot going on.
  2. Good to see Demelza hold her own with the shrew who drops by with her cohort uninvited before Christmas Eve dinner and proceeds to delight in insulting her. I can't blame Ross for mixing with those beneath his birth, they seem rather more interesting and endearing in some ways. Sweet episode :) Still don't care for Jud and Prudie though.
  3. Don't you mean the only chance for happiness is to NOT be chosen? That gets you out of the insanity bubble that is TB/ette.
  4. I would love to hear show insiders' perspectives on this season's production, behind the scenes, everything. How about a Producers Tell All? haha I hope the guys get free rein to spill during TMTA, this season has had too many tedious moments as is. Kaitlyn seems much better suited for BiP's format: hang out drinking and sunning, hook up, and light, witty banter sprinkled with sexy talk. eta: You guys are making me laugh! Wish the Show was doing the same.
  5. Shawn blaming Nick for getting in the way of his being Kaitlyn's "it", when she's the one keeping Nick around by, you know, giving him a rose every time. Despite his protestations to her of Nick's true intent of being there, etc.
  6. Declarations of love for Kaitlyn and endorsements of how fabulous she is ring hollow when we're shown little/no development of such connections. Joe's scene with her on the bench up to and including his being left momentarily hanging as to should he stay or exit was so weird. Ben H's reaction shot to her asking if he's a virgin was hilarious. It never crossed my mind that he might be a virgin, heh.
  7. I did get a chuckle out of Shawn's VO supposedly from the restaurant rest room, after he learned that Kaitlyn had sex with Nick: "I'm so tense I can't even piss." Shawn is shown as perpetually tense and brooding, though. Is he watching the show?
  8. Shawn's edit leaves me wondering wtf does Kaitlyn see in this over-serious, possessive lug. She loves humor and pranks, and I'm not seeing that side of him amidst all the whiny angst. And the ridiculous over-use of him saying "the other guy" tonight, along with the other themes regarding his hatred of Nick that play on an endless loop. Enough already. What an awkward episode. I noticed they aren't using their well-worn sweeping, romantic music that I'd become so sick of in seasons past, ha.
  9. This all feels more like a synopsis than a complete show. imo Lots left to the imagination, without prior knowledge for some of us.
  10. ^ FS threesome, heh. Well, since the season is being twisted into something different from its norm, why not go all out...bring Britt back for a foursome, end the franchise with a bang (no pun intended). But seriously, the next season should be interesting in how it progresses compared to this one. I'm using "interesting" very loosely, as you know.
  11. I guess it's assumed that the audience for this adaptation has at least a passing familiarity with the story; I knew nothing about it and yet it's obvious that there is so much that isn't fleshed out, for whatever reasons. I'm ambivalent about watching the remaining episodes (and don't care to read the books at this time).
  12. Judging by how quickly guys have disappeared and that the format has changed, at this rate I take it the FRC will be squeezed into the last ten minutes next week...hahaha
  13. Mr. Higgins (? the Irish Wolfhound we saw for two seconds) brought a smile in yet another angsty episode. Jared's humor was a plus too, he seems fun--and similar to Ben H, level-headed and low on drama. People's connections to Kaitlyn haven't been shown much, so I find it hard to believe when some of them claim to love/want to marry her. I don't feel particularly invested in these characters, to the point of not caring if I continue to watch 'til the end or not. Meh. What a weird season.
  14. Plain girls get no respect. Verity seems rather independent and intelligent...then she's summoned to hurry up and serve the tea and I'm reminded of her "place" in the house. Elizabeth has outward beauty, but I don't like the push-pull going on with Ross and look forward to him moving on. I wouldn't tell him no. Just sayin'. (Same for Jim, ha). I still don't like Jud and Prudie. Is every ep going to include so much galloping across the countryside? I love horses, but there are obvious gaps in the PBS edit that could be somewhat filled in by cutting some of the superfluous mucking about.
  15. I consider a preview to be a snippet that will be shown in an upcoming episode, but this franchise seems to show things that never make it into any ep and leave some of us wondering if we blinked and missed it. It almost looked, at quick glance, that dentist Chris could have doubled over with a belly laugh rather than tears. Though maybe he just got wind of a bad review of his treasured Broadway show moment and was actually sobbing. :p Oh, this show.
  16. Please not Josh, with the drinking game-level reminisces of his pro baseball days and his blinding white smile framed by a distractingly sweaty face. I don't recall much in terms of conversation, interesting or otherwise. zzz Ben H seems too decent to be TB, I'd hate to see him saddled with the usual crop of [fill in the blank with an array of less than stellar descriptors] women that are cast. Arie seems a distant memory, but I still think he would've made for an entertaining season (especially in light of more recent Bachelor/ette history).
  17. Although I don't care for the dragged-out dullness of the rose ceremonies, they are (were!) a tidy wrap to the episodes...now I clock-watch the last ten minutes, wondering what they're going to cram in and then cliffhang the rest of the nonsense. I'll have to be reminded next week that they didn't get around to the 2-on-1 date yet. It'd be ok if both Joe and JJ got the boot on that one.
  18. I'm confused, did Ian come on the show wanting a woman of depth and not so humor-oriented...it seemed he was familiar with last season...so what did he think he'd get with Kaitlyn and Britt? Laid? Seems like Kelsey would've been more "up here" with Ian on a deluded intellectual level, though not likely his type of hot. Good grief, I'm glad he's gone (and he better not appear as the next Bachelor).
  19. The editing this season is something else. It's so disjointed it doesn't make sense much of the time. I'm still not convinced that Nick is taking time and roses from other guys (as Shawn declared); Kaitlyn's giving it up to Nick because she's drawn to him, can't it just be that simple? The Nick angst is so overdone with Shawn and the mercifully now-departed Joshua.
  20. I suppose I'll continue to watch so I can see what they do to the few guys left I find decent. It could be fun to get together for a MTA viewing party somewhere. Like a hotel suite with a giant TV and stay up into the wee hours talking about the ridiculousness like a teen slumber party. LOL (what's my age again?)
  21. Seems like they're trying to freshen the show by straying from the relative norm, but it's more likely alienating many regular viewers who tune in for romance cheese and pretty travel destinations. I don't recall this much extended heavy drama and angst so soon, I find so much of it unpleasant. (And yet I'm still watching...?)
  22. I couldn't resist tuning in this week. sigh And yet even Joshua's incessant whining about Nick didn't make me tune out early. With so many guys left now, I'm not buying their angst that Nick is (single-handedly!) taking away a rose or time from them any more than each of the other guys there. I get their point, but if you're not making a connection with Kaitlyn now, you're on your way out soon anyway--Nick or no Nick.
  23. Ian, would a truly great catch go on such a fake, cheeseball show like this? Seeing how you said your life was so great and all. Why is your hot ex your ex? I would definitely not watch your pompous ass as the bachelor. bye-bye
  24. Who needs a RC when guys are being booted or bailing left and right. I always thought the ceremonies were excruciatingly drawn out and over-wrought to the point of silliness anyway. Jared looked good for his one-on-one date, though I was distracted by his face being in shadow so much at the table--Kaitlynn's face was well-lit but Jared didn't seem to have a key light or whatnot on him. I didn't sense any connection or warmth between Kaitlynn and Clint the other week during their one-on-one, and then with what happened with he and JJ and his monotone creepiness since, I was glad he was shown the door and would've liked JJ to join him on an awkward ride to wherever they take them.
  25. backformore, I agree that this ep seemed particularly scripted and poorly acted, increasingly more than usual. I'm only half-kidding when I say the most entertaining part of the two hours was catching one of those bizarrely mesmerizing Matthew McConaughey Lincoln commercials again.
