  1. Also I want to add that I wish they didn't make Christine Elise's character so one-note. Every time she walked in the room, I was like, "Here we go again with another smackdown and round of insults as to how naive, clueless, delusional, etc, the cast was." I found it tedious and made her character so unlikable to me, which then made the Gabby-Christine storyline one that I cared less and less about as the episodes progressed. I get that she's hard edged but more softness would've made me believe Gabby's interest more.
  2. This episode felt pretty uneven but I did laugh out loud at the end with the three red dresses. I love Shannen's zen being ever-so-slightly rattled in this episode, showing she can't escape the drama either. I enjoyed Brian, Jennie, and Tori the most in this reboot. The rest of the cast was fun too, but those three showed the most range, I thought. Yes, even though Jennie was pretty much snarky from beginning to end, she did show cracks in the facade and vulnerability as a middle-aged mother of a teen. Going in, I never would've thought I'd feel empathy for Tori Spelling, but I did. She balanced the comedy and drama well. Overall, to me, this reboot was far from perfect, but fun. I'd watch a second season, especially if a second season had more episodes so it didn't feel like a mad dash through all the storylines like this one felt.
  3. One thing I noticed was how Jason complained that the initial script called for so many "claustrophobic interiors" when nearly the entire episode was set inside the halls and rooms of that dimly lit club. They're definitely trying to be "meta" about the whole thing. I agree with everyone who said the pace was slower on this one and that they need to beef up Shannen's part already. Only two more episodes so we'll see what they do in the short time left. Overall, I'm still enjoying the chemistry, esp between BAG and Tori and btw Tori and Jennie. They all looked gorgeous in that slo-mo scene where they're walking toward the set before they notice the vandalism.
  4. It took me a while to get used to it too, but I love the nicknames -- Jay, Tor, Shan, Jen, Z, Bri, Gab or Gabby. They've all been using them and it just underscores to me how long they've all known each other.
  5. I agree with the posts saying the spouses are generally not great. I'm loving the concept of this reboot and enjoying it generally, but the easy chemistry between these longtime friends and colleagues really points out how bad the chemistry generally is with the fake spouses. Lala Anthony is not convincing at all. She kind of blurts out her lines. And BAG is acting so well in this that their contrast is particularly glaring. Loved comedic Tori crawling up the mountain and Shannen's super zen response.
