  1. Kiddo82, thank you for articulating exactly how I felt about this movie. My friend couldn't really enjoy it I think because she can't stomach any kind of animal cruelty, she almost threw up a couple of times. That part didn't bother me honestly. Its what I expected from Rocket's story. What they've been blatantly saying happened since we met the character. I wish the movie had more substance. Peters motivation to save Rocket seemed performative to me. It also didn't feel nearly as funny as the first or the second. I dislike the alternate Gamora. Like someone else said, her motivations changed too drastically for me. Her sister was her number one priority before and she was never mean or careless. And I felt that she was a very selfish character here. Its nice to think that meeting the guardians changed her life, I don't think it would change quite this much. I wish they had left her out of the movie honestly. Her happy ending with the reavers irritated me. The villian was fine, if it a little too unhinged at the end there. I thought the characters were retired nicely. All and all it was a good end for the guardians, I just wish I liked it more.
  2. It just premiered on Friday. I feel like it was on the first page of the Apple app? I thought it was quite nice to see Chris Evans return to his romcom roots.
  3. Netflix recommended I watch She's Dating the Gangster which features the filipino love Kathniel. Super cute movie. Of course I then had to watch all of their other movies too. Falling In Love is also quite adorable. Just watched Ghosted on Apple. Really good. Lots of marvel cameos. Apparently Scarjo was supposed to be the love interest originally which would have been even more hilarious.
  4. Yea it wasn't that bad at all imo. I've definitely seen worse. I also surprisingly liked Shotgun Wedding. It was way different than what I was expecting, in a good way lol.
  5. The first one is definitely the best one, I dislike the second one and love the third almost as much as the first. So many cute relationship beats we get to see. I wanted to smack Lara Jean in the second one.
  6. Ah Fools Rush In is one of my favorites! Alex can definitely be an ass at times but he gets humbled throughout the movie enough to balance it out. I rewatched the To All the Boys I've Loved Before trilogy again and I still love it ;) I rewatched Falling Inn Love, still cute. That Adam Demos I watched him again in Perfect Pairing which was way better than I was expecting. Very friendship first heavy. The leads had amazing chemistry. I also watched Love Guaranteed. Which was unexpectedly funny and charming. I thought their relationship was a little rushed but it was still super cute.
  7. I watched Your Place Or Mine tonight and I liked it. It thought it was pretty funny and I bought the friendship between Debbie and Peter. I thought the stuff with Peter and Jack was very cute and I loved the relationship between Minka and Debbie as well. That being said, they made Theo way too perfect and interesting and Jesse Williams is as fine as ever. He was perfect, their chemistry was amazing. I would have been fine if she had picked Theo over Peter. I rewatched Moonstruck and The Night We Met earlier this week, both still as good as I remember.
  8. Exactly so. It was so gross how they tried to rewrite history when she lost her memory.
  9. I actually thought this was the better episode, it was much smoother and focused since we know how it works and Nell does too. She has obviously done several obits since the first one and while she doesn't like it she is good at it. I thought the stuff with the roommate was once again a highlight. There are many different kind of people on the spectrum with many different personalities and hangups. Edward explained very well how he needed things to be but he also gave insight on how to temper his expectations for when Nell doesn't get it completely right. He's blunt and honest which can seem rude but I don't ever get the sense that is his intention. Nothing he says is intended to hurt anyone's feelings. I didn't like this ghost as much as the first but I do think she helped Nell stand up for herself a bit. The bit with the article was weird, I too thought it was perhaps bad press for Lexi's dad since he owned the stadium but it was really just Lexi being irritated that Nell wasn't staying in her lane. Loved the end with Cricket, Nell, and Edward, very cute.
  10. I liked it, I really love shows about people who can see ghosts, was a big fan of Ghost Whisperer back in the day and Ghosts now as well. I like that this show and this character does feel distinctly different from the other two. I feel like this one was kind of rough compared to the second but sometimes pilots are like that. Nell is abrasive in this episode but I think that's kind of the point with the situation that we come into. She clearly left without warning or really that much thought for a relationship that didn't work out the way she wanted. It also seems like she didn't maintain her friendships that well when she was in London. I thought the stuff with the autistic roommate was different, I like that she didn't get it right the first time or the second time but I never felt that she was mean or derogatory towards him at all which was nice. I didn't recognize Martin Mull until halfway through either. I remember him fondly as Mr. Kraft from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Sam or Cece as I keep calling her in my head, was okay. I felt like she maybe hadn't really forgiven Nell like she said for leaving. She seemed kind of standoffish and passive aggressive at times. I understand that she made a new friend while Nell was gone but I thought she was out of pocket for allowing Lexi to tag along to her birthday dinner when it clearly made Nell fell uncomfortable. That being said, Nell was really rude to Lexi during her apology. Like come on girl, you couldn't spring for fresh doughnuts for your apology to your boss? I'm glad it worked out but too much pettiness. Loved the end with the widow Cricket, I think she does have to find another friend besides Sam since Lexi is her best friend now.
  11. That was fine. I skipped all of last season and feel like I didn't miss anything so there's that. Did Caitlin die? I know Frost did right? The way they wrote that whole situation was so ham fisted and stupid and now they brought it back again. Just let her be regular Caitlin for god's sake. Iris and Barry's couple scenes are a lot better, I loved that they had fun together and solved the issue together. It took Barry way too long to see how upsetting that book was. Like read the room Barry. Didn't like that kiss, went on way too long and it lacked chemistry. Are we rooting for them to get together? Hated that end bit with Joe. I know Joe's actor wanted to go to part time but that's the best story y'all could come up with? Joe being tired of living in the city with his kids, friends, and job? And why was he so tearful?
  12. I always think of Rachel McAdams in The Vow. She was so awful to Channing Tatum's character. She gave him no grace nor did she ever try to figure out anything for herself about the life she herself chose for herself. I was irritated that he took her back at the end. Finally watched Notting Hill and Anna is trash. I said what I said. What was the point of it all? The discovery of her boyfriend in the middle, her jerking him around. And he was a doormat. Didn't matter what she did, he would always take her back.
  13. America's Sweethearts is my favorite Julia Roberts movie by far. I think it was too quirky to be commercially successful honestly. But it's really great. I was really looking forward to You People and it was a mixed bag for me. It was more uncomfortable than funny for me which is saying something because I thought it was really funny for the most part. It just went so far and so hard that it wasn't fun to watch at times. While Ak deserved his smackdown, I felt like the one they had Amira give Shelly was mean. I never felt like she treated her like a toy/novelty or that she ever came from a place of malice. The ending was incredibly rushed, I hated that that was their wedding. Feel like it should have been a rehearsal party do over. Their breakup was also too easy for a couple that was so in love and their time apart was like they were friends that kind of missed each other. Idk the end was a letdown. I wouldn't watch it again.
  14. I watched While You Were Sleeping yesterday and I know the premise is probably too problematic in this day and age but I absolutely love it. Lucy just melts your heart. She's so lonely and while she fell in love with a pretty face, she really just wanted his family. And then Bill and Sandra's chemistry is off the charts, so cute. This lonely type of character is one that Sandra does sobwell. Margaret from The Proposal feels like a older, sadder version of Lucy.
  15. I watched A Christmas Bride after dodging it for years and it was really good. If Runaway Bride and She's All That had Christmas baby it would be this movie. The leads had great chemistry and the storyline had some interesting twists and turns. Holiday In Handcuffs and 12 Dates Of Christmas are also great annuals on my list. I like the weird ones ;)
  16. I just watched Something From Tiffany's and it was so cute. I agree with Ms Blue Jay about the ring, it's literally the thing that brought them together. I thought it was perfect that he gave it back to her. She also prob was in possession of it and loved it far longer than his former fiance. I liked that there was no cheating, they obviously felt some sparks but they stayed committed to their so's which is how it should go. Daisy was adorable as well. I'm definitely adding this to my list of favorites.
  17. I just watched Notting Hill and what a bad movie. Over the years I heard that is was so lovely and charming and other than the supporting cast who were great, Anna was awful. Just unapologetically terrible and confusing. William was a complete doormat throughout. Didn't matter what happened or how she acted, he just kept going back for more. The constant breaking up and getting together was so tiring. Also the movie had like ten endings. What a letdown.
  18. Did anyone watch the Noel Diary? I watched it with my girlfriend's and we laughed a lot. It was not great. Just some really odd moments, storyline choices, etc. Also I hate cheaters. Please have your main be single and ready to mingle. Its so off putting watching a character "fall" for someone else when they have a fiance back home.
  19. She was ultimately successful in both timelines. It was her pregnancy and early years as a mom that irritated me. She acted like she couldn't follow her dreams because she got pregnant
  20. Interesting conversation about Sweet Home Alabama. I never thought that Melanie was so happy in New York or with Andrew in particular. I think she was living a lie there for a really long time after she miscarried and kind of ran away there. I also got the sense that everything Andrew knew about Melanie was a fabrication. I really liked that she had to confront the family and friends she left behind. Her mom in particular kind of broke my heart. Andrew was great, I think he did his absolute best with how hard he was blindsided but I didn't think it was realistic that he still wanted to marry her. He didn't even know who she was. She didn't know who she was. Was Jake perfect? Absolutely not. But I thought part of her returning was her having to also drop her misconceptions about Jake as well. The narrative she created in her head didn't allow him to grow beyond the backwater country boy she had to marry when she fell pregnant. Half the stuff he did and said was really him leaning into caricature of a person that she still thought he was. For me the point of the movie was her learning that she could love and appreciate her country roots and not be embarrassed and still be successful and authentic. I don't think she was ever meant to be with the disposable fiance though lol. Is there a movie where that happens? Mileage may vary obviously. This made me want to watch Sweet Home Alabama so thanks for that lol. Now I did watch Look Both Ways on Netflix and boy did that movie infuriate me. So the premise is basically Sliding Doors twenty something edition. Girl either finds out she is pregnant or not the night before heading off into adulthood. The baby daddy is a close friend. One scenario she is pregnant and moves back home to have the baby and the other she's not pregnant and heads of to Cali to live her dream of becoming an animator. The not pregnant storyline is pretty good, she gets a great job, meets a handsome guy, she's successful, etc, etc. However the pregnancy storyline 🙄 She's miserable ofc. She lies around like a lump every day, not working, not drawing or creating, she doesn't go out with friends. She acts like being pregnant means that your life is suddenly over. Ofc we have the obligatory unrequited love from the baby daddy which she rejects because reasons. I wanted to throw a brick at her. And then the ending is both timelines just continuing? It didn't make any sense. Don't watch it lol.
  21. I just watched Marry Me and it was super cute. Way more grounded and realistic than I was expecting. I also loved how much Spanish was spoken between J Lol and Maluma. They seemed like a cute couple before they imploded. I also rewatched Simply Irresistible and that movie is even weirder than I remember lol. It still has a special place in my heart but so many strange things happen.
  22. I just saw that trailer. Reminds me of That Old Feeling, which is a guilty pleasure of mine. Everyone has amazing chemistry. I just watched Strictly Ballroom the other night. Unexpectedly hilarious.
  23. I love Corrina, Corrina. I feel like it's really underappreciated. I did see the Lost City as well. I wish that I had liked it more I guess. I love Sandra but I felt like she was either too old or Channing was too young. I get that may be the point but they didn't have any chemistry for me. I saw Moonshot, I thought it was very cute, interesting premise.
  24. Tennisgurl you wrote everything I was too lazy to write because my god was this movie terrible. I too was hoping that it would be at least decent but it was not. These are supposed to be geniuses right? If you knew that the bats drank blood why would you not be prepared that Michael would need some before you did the experiment. Him killing those guys on the boat did not sit right with me at all. Also making his friend the big bad was a reach considering there was zero build it to it. Why would it make him a different person? Michael was still the same after the change. The last dangling thought I had was about Martine. Like did he not go back for her body?
