  1. Maybe I just can't relate because I've never found out that my husband was a KGB spy, but I imagine that my reaction wouldn't be "let's have unprotected sex while the old guy in the room next to us listens." Ahem. I've never been in the KGB either, but I have totally been in the same situation. Cops in the other room. They are waiting for ... something ... who knows what. We had the noisiest unprotected sex ever, just to get the message across. It happens.
  2. Yes, Stan's instincts are well-defined. He suspected something was weird about the Jennings' garage and he was right - there was a kidnapping victim in the trunk. Later, he subconsciously suspected Martha of stealing mail off the robot, but hasn't yet realized he knows that, too. I think he knows that the Jennings aren't right, but he's in denial.
  3. I'm sort of concerned about Paige. Teenagers always think they know more than their parents, especially about religion. When I was a teen, I had religion and my parents didn't. I smugly thought I had everything figured out. I would totally have trusted my church friends over my parents, and my parents weren't even spies and hadn't lied to me. I absolutely would have confided in my pastor the secrets of my home. I would have thought I was doing the right thing and saving their lives and souls. Now, I'm a Socialist atheist, so see how well that all turned out? I hope Paige isn't like I was at 16.
  4. I don't think Jared was that much into spying as a career. I think he was just in love with Kate and would have gone along with whatever she said. When his parents tried to keep him away from her, he just blew up. Paige's situation is completely different. She's just evaluating spycraft as its own thing and not loving it so far.
  5. If they are going to see Grandma in her home, it is likely to be in a village somewhere. Village life didn't really change much while the main cities of Moscow and St Petersburg were going from boom to bust.
  6. I'm pretty sure there is NO paperwork on file for Martha and Clark's marriage. "Clark" said he'd take care of the license. Of course he did. So, interviewer asks if Martha is married. If he's done his homework, he would expect her to say she is not. She says she isn't married. No conflict there.
  7. Well, one way they could use her right now that would actually be a big relief to everybody (especially us!) would be to make Paige the primary contact for Kimmie. "Jim" could bring his daughter along (he told her he has a family, right?) and the girls could chat while he changes the tape. Kimmie needs a good influence friend her own age anyway.
  8. Actually, they aren't married. It was even verbalized the first year when Phillip moved out - "We were never married, and the Center probably wouldn't even care." The fact they aren't married was the source of subtext at Clark and Martha's wedding with Elizabeth looking wistfully at the wedding rings and the ceremony. They could be "common law" married, I suppose, but in any case, with the direct question from Paige - "Are you married?" The truth would have been to explain the situation, but to emphasize the loving part of the relationship and the family. Phillip didn't do that. He jumped immediately to the quick answer, which was a lie. Which is interesting because every other thing, they are being truthful about, even if it makes them uncomfortable. I suspect the quick lie from Phillip was because he is lying to himself as well. As to being a spy, he will squirm, but he will answer truthfully. About being friends with Stan, he will stumble but say truthfully that yes, they are friends. About being married to the woman he loves, he can't bring himself to say out loud that he isn't really.
  9. And yet, the very first question out of the box, they lied about: "Are you really married?" Yes, of course we are. The honest answer, and the one that would have served their purposes well would have been: "We never had a ceremony. We were paired together, but we have grown to really love each other and we love you and your brother more than anything. We are a family in every way." That would not only have been the truth, but it would have redirected Paige's questions back to love and family and away from dangerous areas. Paige is very astute. She jumps to the real point, sometimes without knowing she does. "Are you trying to make me into a travel agent?"
  10. I voted other. But let's look at the facts. Keira was shot by someone who knows guns. One bullet right through the center of the forehead. No mess. I think that rules out the Alecs, at least the versions that we know and probably Jason, too. Why was she in the lab? She was holding the time travel pieces when she was shot, or they would not have ended up under the cabinet. But the shooter wasn't trying to get the pieces or he/she would have taken them. I think that rules out Escher and Kellog, and probably all the Freelancers, too. Too bad. A Freelancer would have gotten my vote. One of the remaining Liber8 members is a possibility. Garza, Sonya or Travis is a possibility. I'm betting it is somebody that we know, but who has not had a lot of screen time yet so we don't know their motive. Some characters who have fallen off the radar are: Elena (what happened to her body? Did she get reanimated?) Jaworski? I think Julian or one of his followers is a possibility. Emily is too, although if she did it, she hid any surprise at seeing Keira alive well. I think my vote goes for one of Julian's followers.
