  1. This trip those two statements were said again, through tears. And Kenny had to endure all the whispered, "Is He here? Will he come out?" As if facing him required such bravery or such a strong stomach or something. Kenny's wedding, which should be a joyful thing, is being turned into a circus of shame by these overly indulged, hateful children
  2. Oh, please! As if Armando's family doesn't get hysterical every time even the thought of Kenny comes up. "Oh, but Armando had a wife!" "Oh, Hannah won't have a mother." They make me sick. Kenny's had to suck up their hate for a year and he's shown nothing but grace through it all.
  3. I can kinda see the sisters' points of view. Their sister, who has said her entire life she was uninterested in marriage, enters into an immigration marriage with a guy who refuses to learn the language of the place in which they live. Then he cheats on her. And he's Corey. I'd order him the penis soup, too. Which is not at all to say that Evelyn doesn't deserve a nice, big bowl herself.
  4. SO MUCH THIS! I came here to wail about my Greg, my dear, lost Greg, who of course had to come back or my life will have meant nothing, because, after all he's perfect, his love for Katie is perfect, his white, woven hoodie is perfect. (I teach Women's Studies, damnit! I'm supposed to know better!). I kept reading here, surprised, a little shocked, all these anti-Greg posts. A fake? Passive aggressive? Manipulative? Well, let me tell you, I'm an expert in those relationships because I've been in them and I teach about them and Greg is nothing like those men. Those men leave you locked up in yourself, constantly self-questioning, never knowing what to say, always knowing you're wrong but never knowing why, forgetting why you felt right because their hurt is so much more overwhelming. Y'know, exactly like Katie from the time of his extreme I love you til the time he left. I didn't see it until Jade Black's above post but as soon as I read it a light bulb went off &, I swear, I feel like I know it like I know the law of gravity: Greg is not a good person to be in a relationship with. Thanks so much for your post, Jade Black. You said you hoped writing it would help someone else avoid these kinds of relationships. I join in that. I also wrote to show how seductive they can be. You're smart, sophisticated, you'd never fall for this stuff, but then . . . I know it's only reality tv, but I got so sucked in it scares me. Just, it sucks to say it, but whatever your sex or gender or sexuality, be careful.
  5. Oh, no, a rabbit hole awaits . . . And, yes, how could I have forgotten Geoffrey? And Lieda & her prince who kicked his daughter out of her own apartment. When you stack them all up like this Paul ends up closer to the top than I thought possible. Who knew he was quite the hunk o' burnin' love?* Act now, ladies, that marriage won't be in trouble for ever (what am I saying? Of course it will) *I couldn't resist
  6. The Specimen was a guy from one of the early seasons who lived on the coast in Maryland. I'm pretty sure he got named that bc people found his dating profile in which he referred to himself as a fine specimen of manhood. He brought over this much younger woman from the Philippines, yelled at her for rearranging his books, surprised her with the present of a car she wasn't allowed to drive (that had been his ex-wife's), manipulated her into signing a possibly illegal pre-nup that said, no matter what, she'll leave the marriage with zero. He was a nightmare. He was always waking her up early, threatening to send her back, to leave her destitute. It was hard to watch. But, damn you, TLC, also hilarious bc he really did think he was a specimen. He'd always be flashing his big white smile at the camera, showing off his car, just being pitiful. MARK! That was his name! Mark! I'm pretty sure. Does that sound right?
  7. Sorry to be pedantic but the actual order is: 1) The Specimen 2) Big Scumsucking Ed 3) Mike tied with the salsa-dancing Englishman who was with Darcy 4) The pot dealer with Anfisa tied with Andrew
  8. You're definitely a pacifist bc every time he breathes I want to punch him
  9. This legit had me laughing out loud. You win the interwebs.
  10. What on god's green earth was Mike doing when his mom pointed out the crib & amidst the pigs he started going, "Wah, wah, wah," then laughing? Is that funny? Is that humor? It was like a Rob Zombie horror movie. He & his mom are the weirdest couple of freaks.
  11. I'm that fan, too. Brooks' absurdity delights me. And I'm genuinely interested in Leah as a character & like the juxtaposition she brings to the other women. She's completely over the top, but isn't that what we want from our Housewives? On the Dallas reunion Tiffany was scolding Stephanie for being so dramatic about the chicken feet & Stephanie said something like, "But we were reacting. We're paid to react. You were provoking bc you're paid to provoke and we reacted." It's made me see things in a whole new light. Of course, I know they're all always performing. But knowing that they all (not just people like Tamra) go into a scene thinking, "I have to make this BIG" changes my read of scenes & people. ETA: I'm closer to Ramona's age than Leah's so that theory may not be so solid ETA again: I felt bad that Eboni had to work that hard with Ramona. Yes, Eboni was polite. But classism is not polite. Why is it incumbent on Eboni to make the one at fault feel comfortable? Why are we judging Eboni for bringing it up instead of Ramona for doing it? I hate that it's always the person in the more vulnerable position who has to make it painless for the person who has caused pain. Harrumph. Okay, off my soapbox.
  12. Right! The Winders' normal boringness, funnily enough, is why I like their scenes best. They're such a relief. I know if we got to know them better we'd find out they had all sorts of abhorrent beliefs, but in my fantasy, they're just the nice, quiet people I see on TV & they're the perfect antidote to the rest of the show's poison (which I watch with relish, but I also enjoy voicing my outrage. Oh, TLC, you own me)
  13. How is it that the Snowdens aren't on & this is still the most disgusting hour of TV this week? The guys on Vanderpump Rules were wearing Garrick's tank top a few years ago. I didn't get it then, either. I agree with whoever said it's hard to know who to hate most. Whoever's on screen always seems the absolute worst. Except Colton & like so many of you, that surprises me. Who thought he'd be the break-out star?
  14. Knowing what we know about Angela & TLC, I'd guess that Angela didn't follow the rules and TLC messed with the timeline.
  15. While he was being dumped his body language was off, too. At one point his clenching fist got between the TLC camera & his computer screen.
  16. Hah! I thought it was a bad calf implant! Too many re-runs of that one episode of MTV's Tru-Life: I'm a Plastic Surgery Addict w/the calf implant guy.
  17. And the way they showed Queen 1 washing dishes with a voice-over of her saying, "Of course I wish K would come back." I ADORE those editors!
  18. I can also see her texting him, saying she likes the choking as a way to placate him into not escalating. Y'know, "Gee, the choking sure is great. Let's keep with that & skip the knife-play, Dmitri." Or, "Yes, I love the choking" (i.e., so no need to keep aggressively punishing me for not liking it).
  19. Garrick is the homewrecker. Roberta is just the wrecking ball he's using.
  20. I was thinking that, too, until the end when Roberta said that if Danielle is unhappy she can't stay (okay, I'm still with the sisterhood-is-powerful vibe) so Garrick better put his foot down & be a man (or something like that). Wow! We really saw the dark side of sweet sister Bert there. Bert & Garrick deserve each other. But, yeah, Danielle's unwillingness to be angry at Garrick is not healthy for her.
  21. But don't new wills automatically cancel older ones? How could this even have been a dispute? Unless someone was claiming one of the wills was a fake --I'm guessing the one that Mamma Dee fortuitously discovered.
  22. But once Andrew leaves, the air clears pretty fast & it's back to cigarette smoke & Play Doh
  23. And, nuts as she is, again, factually, she is correct.
