  1. Was that Celebrity Masterchef, with Amar Latif (the contestant who was blind)? I just watched a Christmas Masterchef special with him in it, and I'm staggered still by how well he is able to cook and present food.
  2. Pithivier is a word that's very difficult to say properly without sounding like Donald Duck.
  3. Now that would have been hilarious. Love Mrs. Slocombe (and her pussy). One of my all time favourite shows.
  4. I think Alison did well for her first episode. She didn't try to insert herself into every situation and generally take over. The occasional over the top exuberance may grate later in the season, but for now it's endearing. Some of those animal cakes in the showstopper were spectacular. I agree on the amount of flavours sometimes being overwhelming. Not just to know of the existence of so many different flavours, but to know enough about them to know with any degree of certainty that they pair well together.
  5. I don't 100% recall, but I don't remember them ever doing it. It would be a nice touch though.
  6. Finale tonight Australian time. This season has just flashed by. I honestly don't mind which of the final 3 takes out the title. They're all good at what they do, and there wasn't anyone on the season contestant wise that I loathed or was irritated by. Now to find something to fill the hole in my life with until the new season of GBBO starts, whenever that may be.
  7. The first ever GABO Winter Week tonight. The technical this week, of a carrot and cumin tart, sounds interesting. I might try it myself once they put the recipe up. Enjoying what the new hosts and judges are bringing to the table so far. They're no Matt and Maggie, but it's still an enjoyable watch.
  8. Great Australian Bake Off returns to Foxtel in Australia in about a month's time, on the 13th of June. I can't wait to see the new bakers and find out what the new judges and hosts bring to an established show. 9. It wouldn't be the first time a baker has steadily gone through the season, never getting Star Baker, and then coming through and winning the whole thing in the end.
  10. First episode of the new series of GABO starts tonight (27 January in Australia), at 8:30pm Australian Eastern Daylight Savings time on the Lifestyle channel on Foxtel. Unsure how people in other countries can watch it at the moment.
  11. New Great Australian Bake Off starts screening on Foxtel in Australia on Thursday the 27th of January. The contestants' names have just been released in the last couple of days. Meet the cast of THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BAKE OFF new season on FOXTEL - TV Blackbox
  12. I thought the family of Ruby from Season 9 was loud when she got Star Baker, but Crystelle's family take it to a whole other level.
  13. A rock hard sausage, and a soggy bottom. What a combination to be stuck with.
  14. Reminds me of Lottie from last season who reckoned she only packed two outfits because she wasn't expecting to stay more than a couple of weeks, so she had to keep borrowing other bakers' clothes.
  15. It will be interesting to see if Jurgen is successful this week, or if he succumbs to the pressure of being expected to do well in baking food from his country of origin. I can't see too much crumbling - he doesn't seem the sort to crumble and fall to pieces when the going gets a bit tough.
