I actually think that Josh Griffith was the only writer who had a clear vision on who he wanted Lani to be and that was to be a villainess. She was supposed to become obsessed with Sean and go after Belle. Lani did not need to be Abe's daughter to be a viable character with the right writing. Eli was wasted and I actually am thankful that Dena created him to honor the Valerie/David relationship that was derailed by the backlash over their interracial romance. I wish we had more insight on Eli. What was his relationship like with his stepdad. We should have gotten to see David meet his son Eli and possibly reconnect with Valerie. Eli could have bridged the gap between his grandmother Julie and his father David. David and Julie did not always have the best mother/son relationship, it was always fraught with tension. I don't think that the show knew how to write for Eli after Dena was fired. Lani and JJ did work together to take Ben down. The show hinted that Lani and Ben had crossed paths in Florida and that Ben had killed before his killing spree in Salem. Lani even said that the killer's pattern of killing women reminded her of a murder down in Florida. There were rumors that Ben's sister knew about Ben's murderous tendencies and it is why she and Ben were constantly moving with different identities. How ironic that Ron made her the crazy one and Ben the hero.

Why is she still talking about the view? The show has moved on and she needs to do the same. Get a life Megan!

Ben getting a happily ever after with a wife and child while his victims never got to live a full life is just plain wrong and it is why the remaining soaps are on life support..

My heart broke for Wendy, when she showed her feet. I was taken aback by it, I have never seen something like that in my life. Wendy was clearly out of it though. She is definitely being used by somebody for money and clout because Wendy is in no position to work. She needs to heal her inner demons and find some type of peace. I did see the bitterness, the loneliness and her confusion about what her life will be like away from the camera.. I wish her the best.

I think Belle sees Shawn as a weak man that she can dominate and it is why she disrespects him so much. Shawn should have walked away from Belle after she fucked Philip on their marital bed next to their daughter's crib. If that is not disrespect then I don't know what is..

Yes that was so embarrassing to see. Sherry yelling screaming and twisting her body as she was getting waxed to get a laugh was just too much. I do like Sherry but if she could tone it down a bit she could be so much fun.. Her behavior with Prince was so inappropriate and then some. Why Sherry why?

Why should she shut the hell up about her views on a show called the view. She said nothing wrong in my opinion. All she said that as a catholic, she is against abortion but does not want to impose her views on others unlike those sitting on the supreme court. She said that 6 people currently sitting on the highest court of the land is Catholic. Sunny brings up her Catholicism when it is relevant to the topic like today when the ladies were discussing Roe v Wade being overturned by Catholics.

Everything you said was correct. What I meant to say she is the soap's modern version of a "good girl". A serial killer who stalked brutalized tortured and killed women is now a celebrated beloved hero that everybody must bow down to or else you will be demonized like Eve who had the audacity to want to avenge her only daughter's brutal death at his hands.

I think that Lani had potential but the show made her into a good girl with no personality. Sal was wonderful on All My Children when it came back briefly online. I think with better writing, better directing she could have been good as Lani. The actors taping schedules is ridiculous, the actors no longer get to rehearse and they tape everything in one take.

What made the Holly/Michelle relationship so special was that it was so unexpected for both of them, especially given Maureen's open hostility towards Holly when she was alive. Michelle even brought that up when they first started to talk to one another. The Holly/Maureen dynamic was so damn interesting because both ladies were allowed to be wrong and right at different times, it was not the standard good girl vs. bad girl. GL was truly the best at crafting relationships in daytime. I am still bummed we never the Maureen/Roger friendship evolve had she lived and Ed's reaction as well as Holly's would have been dynamite. Maureen saw something good in Roger despite everything.

Please don't tell me that Ron is going to recreate Bo and Hope leaving Salem with their baby son in 1987 on the fancy face boat with the serial killer his stupid wife and their spawn that should not exist. Bo and Hope was the only supercouple to get a happy ending in their original story. Bo and Hope were leaving town together to start anew with their son Sean-Douglas and they were passing the torch to Steve and Kayla..

Notice how everybody was smiling relaxed and happy. Even Lindsey put her sword down and just enjoyed the moment..

Don't forget Nadine fretting over Billy having hurt his knuckles over beating the shit out of Roger...lol She absolutely enjoyed Billy lambasting Vanessa over not telling him about Mindy's affair with Roger. Before Alex spilled the beans about Mindy's affair with Roger to Billy. I absolutely enjoyed the scene between Alex and Mindy over at the lighthouse. Mindy is sleeping in her bed after having had sex with Nick. Her eyes are closed and she hears somebody come in her room and she says "Nick come back to bed and make love to me again and somebody caresses her hair and then suddenly Mindy is yanked violently by her hair and we see it is Alex and the battle between the ladies began after the commercial break/theme song.. Alex was vicious in arguing with Mindy. Mindy fights back with vicious words as well. Her taunting Alex really bothered me because it showed that a part of Mindy had no remorse over hurting Alex. Alex loved Mindy and never judged her even when she hurt Philip back in the day. So her betrayal really hurt Alex. Mindy did get pregnant and lost the baby. Alex found Mindy's earring under her bed and she was able to put two and two together.

I felt bad for her when Alexandra was torturing her. I remember one scene where Alex was being a bitch to Mindy rightly so and just asked her quietly what did she ever do to Mindy to deserve this type of betrayal and Mindy was at a loss for words. Mindy looked so guilty and ashamed and Alex was so vulnerable raw and hurt. It was just acting at its finest and both ladies delivered.

Holly's firing was always a mystery to me. I did not see the show but how was Holly on the show. How did she gel with Sheryl? I bet you the ladies had lunch with drinks to gossip about Sharon..

Anne Heche has said that playing the twins for 3 years in front burner storylines was the best time and the most exhausting time of her life. No other characters that she has portrayed in other genres can compare. She has always spoken about her soap career with pride love and nostalgia.

I agree with you about Marlena being much better in the 80's. Marlena in doctor mode has always been the best version of her in my opinion and it always got her into trouble. I thought the Lombard story was an awesome story for Marlena after she came back from the dead that did not have anything to do with John or Roman. It was Doctor Marlena Evans front and center. Her empathy and getting too involved with her patient backfired on her as usual. The more she helped Roger Lombard get his life together the more unstable his wife Stella Lombard became culminating in the pit storyline.

I actually thought her detachment made sense to me given how she lost so much and it seemed that the show was going to address it in a future storyline but nothing came of it. Roman spoke about her coldness when it came to everything. I did enjoy Marlena when she had moments where she let her hair down after she came back from the dead. Drunk Marlena and drugged Marlena( an unhinged Stella had spiked her drunk out of spite at a party) was really fun. Deidre has a beautiful laugh and we never really saw Marlena just enjoy herself and live.

That is true not too many actors on daytime can play dual roles and play them well as distinct individuals. Anne Heche in my opinion as Vicky and Marley on Another World set the standard in my opinion on how to play a dual role that nobody has yet surpass on daytime past and present. The thing is that Anne Heche had so many scenes of the twins just hanging out being sisters and she made it look so easy that you forgot that she was playing both roles. The editing and the blocking of the twins scenes with each other were so well done. I remember a scene where Marley is siting on a couch and Vicky is sitting on the floor not too far from her and they are just chatting laughing and eating ice cream.
