  1. Being a Rockette and being a DCC is like night and day. Rockettes are contracted through a union and have union protection. They make about $1500 a week during the season PLUS they have year round benefits. During the season it's a full time job, so they're not working or going to school like a DCC then spending every evening in rehearsal. They're making anywhere between $35-40K per year and then they usually teach or perform with other groups during off season. That's a pretty damn good salary for a dancer. Honestly I think the reason why the pool of auditioning dancers has dropped so low is because highly trained dancers are not going to want much to do with a situation like DCC where they're making very little money dancing a no brainer style and being constantly micromanaged like a child. There are so many more opportunities for dancers now. Of course you're always going to have young women who are being supported by their parents or husband who for whatever reason think the Be All and End All is being a DCC (cough VK). Sorry I just realized my post pretty much said the same thing as another.
  2. However, Kat has a beautiful face, a gorgeous figure that looks great in the uniform, is photogenic, has a high energy, and is personable. She has improved over training camp and looks powerful on the field. By contrast, Meredith has a beautiful face but a boxy figure that does NOT look good in the uniform, was surprisingly stiff and unphotogenic during her cameo shoot, and does not have a powerful presence on the field. I can understand keeping Kat, but not Meredith. So the whole speculation about Meredith having some prior connection to the Jones family, or the Bush family, or comes from money or whatever makes more and more sense because I don't get how they'd keep her. The whole understudy thing is bogus because that's what the All Starts are for--last year Jinelle danced several times, particularly when Yuko was in her car accident at the beginning of the season.
  3. So neither Gina nor Jayln are in the calendar(s) for 2020? They put in Gabby, who was cut but not a current cheerleader?
  4. There have been times when an injured cheerleader performed Thunderstruck but not the rest of the day. If someone is our for Thunderstruck it really messes up the spacing. I'm racking my brain trying to remember specifically when this happened, but...
  5. The grandiose introductions everyone gets is ridiculous. And the way they enter the space. Just walk in like a person with Kelli and Judy for crying out loud.
  6. I hope Brennen doesn't feel pressured to get a boob job like so many of the other women.
  7. Since this is the spoilers thread and we already know who made the team, then what are appropriate topics in this thread?
  8. First Jenna got in trouble for NOT tattling on Holly then everyone hated her for tattling on Erica. These women can't win.
  9. Last year it really cracked me up how many different venues they were at, and how nonchalant Kelli was about it. "Today we're at the Star" then "today we're rehearsing at AT&T Stadium," then "today we are rehearsing on the field at SMU," then "today we're at Gilly's" etc. etc. As if all these places were just around the corner and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area has no traffic.
  10. Regarding Nicole Bulcher being a WOC....many WOC appear "white." If a woman is of mixed-race heritage she may or may not self-identify as a WOC based on the rest of her family, how she was raised, and what life experiences she has had. I have not seen anything to support the claim that she is a WOC, and the only reason I say this is because I do believe that Kelli would have said something about Nicole's "exotic" ethnicity to add the myth that the DCC is a diverse group. Lots of white girls have super curly hair just like Nicole. My mom is one of them, and I've got many friends with the same type of hair as Nicole.
  11. So I was out of town and just got to watch the episode last night. First, when they announced group leaders that was the most I've seen of Gina since the show started this season. Why are they not showing her at all? Second, it's like Jalyn isn't even there. I think I MAY have seen her behind someone. She hasn't even been mentioned. We all know she didn't make show group, but crap! Poor Alexandra needs to cut her losses and move on with her life. What was the weird "what's on your Ancestry page?" question from Kelli during uniform fittings? It's like a cover for "what's your ethnic heritage so we can highlight it on national TV and all pretend we are a diverse squad?" While I agree with cutting these ladies sooner rather than later, it sucks that they're cut in the middle of rehearsal and just have to cry alone and leave without saying goodbye to anyone.
  12. This hand gesture is a mudra but is a bit different than what they're doing, And I think you're giving WAY too much credit to whomever choregraphed this dance that they would be paying homage to Freddie Mercury's ethnic background. Putting the possible white supremacy meaning aside, this hand gesture does have some negative connotations around the world. In Brazil it's the equivalent of giving someone the middle finger. What's wrong with a basic outstretched jazz hand, or a fist? I'd just stay away from that one.
  13. Exactly. AND even though it's a job, someone's boss/supervisor can't control what his/her employees do on their own free time. I used to be a manager too, but did I have control over one of my employees going out partying? No. Because they're an adult. So Gina got little to no screen time or mention in the Finals eposode. How could you not show at least part of the solo of the best dancer on the team?
  14. I have to say that I just have a really hard time with the concept of holding an adult accountable for the decisions, actions, and behavior of another adult. I know there was more to the story and I'm not an insider, but the whole thing as it was portrayed on the show was ridiculous.
