  1. Should we read into this that it took a while for LM to send that check? Anyway, her grief is gone and she can afford to be with Brad's younger brother.
  2. The U.S. Congress routinely passes legislation saying that whatever someone comes up with in the future in a particular area (e.g. the Secretary of the Treasury on an Income Tax matter) will have effect without any of them having to sign off on it later. So, there's nothing legally wrong with Leonard signing a document giving Sheldon free rein to come up with whatever terms will apply after a specific time.
  3. Having to pull the knob to start the machine was also considered a safety thing in that you couldn't accidentally turn it on by hitting it with something like a laundry basket. I think they all rely on a door interlock these days, so nothing moves when it's open.
  4. I was a little surprised that Sheldon used EST in the agreement rather than UTC (aka Greenwich Mean Time or GMT). The latter, being an international standard and used inside most computers and other similar tech, is logically justifiable and would have given him eight hours, as opposed to the more arbitrary pick that gave him three. I don't recall the circumstances, but Sheldon once told Penny he was glad she was still going to be a part of his life because he didn't want to go through the same kind of adjustment as when she first became a part of their group. So, having something go back to the the way it used to be counts as an objectionable change to him, and I expect that would include going back to his old apartment.
  5. I presume she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time.
  6. There's a version at vimeo.com by They Might Be Giants with better sound quality and an accompanying animation. It looks like you can find it with or without the "g" on "walking".
  7. They're targeting a stereotype who holds negative stereotypes about the other group, so what might a stereotypical rural person think about city folks?
  8. Someone who doesn't really expect to like what they see. There was a prior episode where a girl who did something like that tried to hide behind one of the guys when she saw that the person matched his pix. The guy didn't care, but it was humorous to see her "OMG, I'm not dressed for this" reaction.
  9. I went to two in the same area; I don't remember much about the first except that it was different from the second, so whatever works for everyone I guess.
  10. In this case, "you" is a rhetorical device and she's referring to her own relationship with "Brad". Kirstie Alley once commented on her love of the engine vibration of her motorcycle with a clarity you can get away with on a late-night talk show, but not in an ad. Perhaps that's the case with this lady, maybe enjoying some naughty fantasies with the feel of Brad's stick shift in one hand. She's probably not referring to anything kinkier.
  11. Going in the direction of hair growth doesn't give you as close a shave, but looking like you forgot to shave that morning was in fashion for a while.
  12. The closest I can come to a sympathetic man was Donald Pleasance as the fellow who just wanted to keep sipping exceptional wines. And that was only because you could get how he must have felt realizing that killing his brother in the way he did also "destroyed" what he loved.
  13. If nobody cared, that's plenty of time for the signs to quietly find their way into dorms, garages and rec rooms. The traffic lights may have come down as they needed repair, but just sat around; no hurry fixing them.
  14. In a phone conversation, you don't get to see any visual cues from the other person, and vocal inflections may be ambiguous. At least email has emoticons.
  15. Why not? Penny seemed happy with the show Prof Proton was giving when he visited, and more recently she and Sheldon were trading knowledge over breakfast; it's not science she's averse to, but the boredom of a classroom.
  16. Don't some people wear a cross to help ward off evil?
  17. Why would experienced filmmaker Max need to be instructed in how to use such a simple camera?
  18. I think he's come to appreciate how smart she is, arguably above everyone in the group but himself and Amy. At least when sober (I think alcohol for Penny is like the basement room at CalTech for Sheldon). Her lack of scientific knowledge means that more effort needs to go into laying things out for her, but that also means that he can't shortcut things that may not deserve shortcutting, and there's a greater chance of her asking a pointed question.
  19. They're trying to prevent the new episodes from looking like carbon copies of old ones, although I'm not sure it mattered much that she gave the guys the big investigative hint for the episode, rather than leave it to a producer or cameraman again. Maybe she can be a guest investigator once their kid is older. Guest investigators worked pretty well in past episodes.
  20. So, no chance of getting her pregnant? Just speculation on what ha may have been thinking. :-)
  21. Mary is very old-fashioned and wouldn't have considered the possibility of Missy being "best man", or imposing on Amy to have a bridesmaid she's never even met; traditionally bridesmaids are friends and family of the bride, and groomsmen those of the groom. If Mary wanted Georgie to be best man because "family", she may have accepted Missy as Sheldon's choice after making a wisecrack about what kind of wedding they were having.
  22. A local library periodically puts theirs up for sale (50 cents softcover, $1 hardcover), and anything unsold after something like a month goes into the recycling bin.
  23. The tobacco industry was too important in Virginia for anyone to have an issue. You can hide things in or behind them.
  24. I think you're underestimating how much Raj spends on his dog. Cinnamon gets spa treatments and food like fois gras.
