  1. Each episode is getting more cohesive, but... I am still struggling with Melissa Rauch not doing the high-pitched voice we all knew from BBT. I'll get over that. I would like to see her reveal some big personal quirk beyond seeing the good in everyone. Oh, and that long blonde hair is too Bernadette-ish. India de Beaufort does everything too broadly in her character's revelations of low self-esteem. The way she's playing every line for a laugh is not funny. John Larroquette remains a treasure whose comedic timing is spot on.
  2. He and Devan are good about "liking" comments on Twitter, too. I DO understand!
  3. Has anyone found a FULL video posted of the SDCC panel yet? I'm only seeing short vids.
  4. I don't agree with Captain Jason's "award" of the disco helmet. Calling out an employee and ridiculing them in a group meeting, and forcing them to display their punishment in public, is a dick move. No professional worth their salt would handle a dressing-dwon this way.
  5. I have for years maintained that Kim has some effed-up past, some childhood trauma, that may come to light. Season five had one scene with Kim as a child waiting on a rainy night for her mother to pick her up, and the mom shows up drunk. I'd like to see more exposition on Kim. Kim was pretty straight-laced in the early seasons of BCS and I'm guessing she worked hard to make her adult life as normal as possible. Jimmy brings out the devil in her, and it's starting to take over more and more. I'd love a spinoff examining Kim's life and what brought her to where she is now.
  6. OK, I'm one of people who hopes Jay gets to see the ghost because of falling through the floor and hitting his head. Otherwise I would guess that Utkarsh will get tired of just doing reaction shots while Rose gets all the good stuff. I've got a bone to pick with the show runners. How is it that Thor - after many years of hearing English - still only has a two-year-old's grasp of the lingo? He refers to himself in the third person. He's had a LOT of time to pick up more vocab and grammar. And then there's Sasappis. He could be a college student from the 20th century. His speech is fairly impeccable and there's no discernible accent.
  7. Was the fantasy sequence in the book? It took me a while to figure out what it was, since it started the episode. It was a treat to see Murtaugh - everyone actually - in a late 1960's/ early 1970's setting. What a hoot that Ian was a soldier with that hair! I didn't assume that Jamie and Claire had sex in the last scene. Back when Jamie got bitten by the snake, Claire took off her top so they could be skin to skin, a sort of enhanced healing thing. That's what I figured happened here. It'll be a long wait for the next season.
  8. Back when Kim first interviewed at Mesa Verde, the interviewer asked her about herself, and she was short on details. Ever since, I have maintained that Kim had an effed-up childhood and she's hiding something big, maybe even her real identity. perhaps she was even as much a grifter as Jimmy.
  9. It took me a while to put my finger on what was different about this season - very few "senior" bakers. Usually we'd have a few bakers with much more baking experience (good or bad) and so the outcome of the bakes was more varied. At this point the bakers who are left have a collective sameness. Not that I don't love them! But I'm not seeing anyone who's over-the-top except Steph in terms of winning it. And I LOVE the chemistry between Noel and Sandy. Just as amusing as Mel and Sue but different.
  10. Just binge-watched the entire series in the past week. I ma NOT the target demographic - quite a bit older in fact - but I found the writing decent and LOVED the relationship between Veronica and Keith. Kristen and Rico have such obvious mutual affection and respect, and their dialogue sparkled. But Rob Thomas, who damaged you so badly as a teenager? Did a pretty blonde girl turn you down for the prom? You had Logan do all that work with his shrink and make some peace with his past, marry Veronica, and then you do THAT? There are dozens of other ways you could have ended this season, but this was the stupidest.
  11. I had the same problem - only Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix. But our county library system had season 3 and 4 on DVD, so that's how I got to see them.
  12. Didn't buy the translation of the radio broadcast from Russian AT ALL. In the days before the Internet - and Google - the teenager who knows some romance languages and has an English-Russian dictionary translates audio into written language AND break the code? A big NOPE from me.
  13. New to Outlander and this forum. I used netflix for seasons 1 and 2, and got the DVD's for 3 & 4 from our county's library system. FWIW, more than 90% of the libraries had season 4's DVD checked out already. I had to drive a ways to get a copy. 🙂
  14. Just discovered this show and binge-watched season 1 - 4. I found this particular episode (alos 16) to be so disturbing that I had to look away a great deal. The images were so horrific that I did not sleep well that night.
  15. I'm new to the series. Just binge-watched Seasons 1 - 4, and am rewatching season 1. Episode 14 is one of my favorites (although honestly there are many terrific episodes). Jenny and Claire ride off into the woods looking for Jamie like badasses - Jenny's tracking game is strong, and what she does to the courier? I was falling to the floor laughing. Oh, and Jenny expressing her milk in the forest? So matter of fact. I was almost disappointed when Murtaugh showed up, except his eyebrows drive me wild.. in a good way. :)
