  1. I've been out of pocket for a while and just saw this. I tried to compare the photo of Popsie and whichever kid it was to online photos of restaurants in Albertville and Guntersville to see if I could figure out where it was. I had no success. 😞 But I've always called those steak fries. I don't think they are unique to Alabama.
  2. They are actually closer to Huntsville (45 miles away), which is the second largest city in the state after Birmingham (79 miles away). Huntsville Hospital Women's and Children's is where the sextuplets were born. I'm curious where in the south you live. There are several different and distinct southern dialects, and even within those they can be affected by socio-economic class. I live 45 miles from the Waldrops and I hear that accent nearly every day.
  3. It seems that Bridge has broken his wrist, Wales got glasses and Blu got a pair of scissors and cut his sister's hair. Busy week at the Waldrop house. Bridge Waldrop's broken wrist Wales got reading glasses Blu Strikes Again
  4. Well, one of the boys fell off the end of the sofa onto his head.
  5. Alabama law says all kids under 8 must wear a life jacket while on a boat. All others must have a life jacket available to them. They were in Florida, though, and Florida law says kids under 6 must wear one and all others must have one available to them. There's nothing in the law about actually wearing the life jacket. Sad, sad, sad.
  6. Me too. They are two in the latest shows (two and a half in real time) and they are not babies any longer. But I'd rather hear her call them babies than "God's Divine Six" or some such.
  7. It looks like you quoted someone and then I quoted you quoting them and it attributed the original to you. I'm sorry about that.
  8. I have to wonder though if the older boys are getting mixed messages about money. They go to Pigeon Forge and stay at The Wilderness where I believe Saylor told his brothers the room cost $200 per night. Then they are told they can't afford separate birthday parties. I think children do need some notion of family finances so they don't think money grows on trees (though they usually think that anyway). On another tack... I saw that the most recent episode was the mid-season finale and that the show would return in the fall. I guess they got the tornado episode filmed before COVID shut down filming. Right now north Alabama is a national hotspot. 😞 https://www.tvshowsace.com/2020/07/14/sweet-home-sextuplets-returns-to-tlc-this-fall/ And last but not least, did y'all see that Courtney is selling jewelry? She sells, among other things, the big earrings she always wears on the show. https://godsdivinenine.com/
  9. Asking them to share their birthday party with their six baby brothers and sisters is a big ask. Oh my lord! Has Courtney forgotten that she is the parent? You don't ask, you tell them that's how it's going to be.
  10. And that's why we have Publix deli. But to paraphrase what someone said in an earlier comment, common sense would make for boring TV. And it's just 20 minutes into this episode and I want to scream. Courtney and her besties are just too much. Popsie should have taught her to jump a car when she learned to drive. And now I'm waiting for the frozen turkey part of this fustercluck.
  11. I live in Alabama, about an hour from Albertville. We are in Dixie tornado alley and the first thing they tell you is to get out of a mobile home. They'll need some place to go that's safe. Not sure if they have an underground shelter but maybe they should consider it.
  12. That girl wants SIX toddlers in her wedding?????????? What is she smoking? My DIL had one toddler in hers and he was unpredictable at best. He ran down the aisle to his mother who was matron of honor. I hope I'm wrong but I see nothing but disaster coming of this.
  13. I worry far less about that than the burping and farting that goes on way too many times. How is that boy going to feel when he's about 25 and a film clip of him farting shows up on social media? Boys do that kind of stuff (I know because I raised two of them myself) but I'd sure not want it to appear on national television. And howdy to all the Alabamians! I'm a North Carolinean by birth, but I've lived here for going on 40 years and it's home.
  14. Last in education, yes. But Huntsville, where I live, was ranked by US News and World Report in 2019 as the 11th best place in the US to live. That's based on a number of criteria, education being one of them. Huntsville also has one of the highest concentrations of PhDs in the country, and the average level of education is a Masters Degree.
