  1. Well, I got my fav, and I happen to think that it was deserved. I kept thinking "lucky that Michelle Visage isn't in the Jury" when I saw Rita's final dress. Scarlet's had really droopy sleeves, they completely distracted me from the dress. Plus, her drag is kind of lacking a clear point of view. Priyanka looked great. Perfectly on brand and it really stuck out.
  2. The bus didn't have the cloaking technology. And I suspect that the technology is quite complicated, and was only used on the highest level from the get go. That is not the kind of secret you want to spread around to other agencies. No relation to Quin whatsoever, if he had the technology, he would have sold it to the highest bidder. Multiple times. Another aspect of the first season is that a lot (but not all) which looks like puzzling incompetence is actually explained with Ward's true identity as Hydra Agent. In both The Bridge and T.R.A.C.K.S. he acts strangely incompetent (especially when he places himself so clumsily that he can't keep watch of the whole prisoner exchange), but in hindsight, it is obvious that those mistakes were deliberate.
  3. Violet nosedived in pretty much every acting challenge and was mostly kept out of the bottom due to her out of the world runway. Which was also the reason why she won, btw, of all the fashion queens, she was in another realm. Still is. The only one who ever came somewhat close was Aquaria, but even she didn't quite reach the level of Violet. Gigi wasn't robbed. Personally I think she shouldn't have won either the Snatch game or the Ball or the Rusical. Jan should have won the Rusical, but it made for better drama to have her lose, and while her ball dress locked great, it wasn't nearly as creative as the "have just left the bath" look.
  4. As someone who has gone back multiple times, I agree. I think the first two seasons of AoS are pretty much like the Sixth Sense, it is an entirely different experience if you know what is coming. I actually think some of the weaknesses of the first season are the result of the writers knowing it, but not considering that their audience doesn't. "Repairs" for example becomes a slightly better episode if you know about the events in "Melinda". They also foreshadowed Wards turn multiple times, most notable in "Yes Men" where he tries to use the opportunity to kill May. It looks like a bad editing mistake upon first watch, but was entirely deliberate. Otherwise it is always somewhat strange to go back to Fitzsimmons and Skye. They are just so young, no wonder Fitzsimmons were nicknamed the "Science babies" back then, nowadays nobody would use the term for them, they have grown up so much. And Skye is nearly an entirely different character. Plus, Chloe Bennet's acting abilities really grew during the first season. Not that she was a bad actress, but being paired with so many excellent ones made her look somewhat bad in the first episodes. By the end of the first season, though, she got into the groove.
  5. Gigi had a track record even better than Rita's, and she didn't win...and she deserved most of her wins, unlike Rita, who has been praised to the heavens for some strange reasons. Priyanka is the one I connect to (along with Lemon, but since she isn't an option anymore). And who says that a drag queen has to be funny? Violet wasn't funny, Bebe wasn't funny, Ivy Oddly outright failed in Snatch game, there are a lot of talents a Queen can have. Priyanka for example slays the lip syncs.
  6. Today, I voted per letter for the first time in my life. Being German, I always had the option, but there is just something very "right" about taking a stroll and doing your cross on election day (hey, we are properly organised over here, I never had to wait in line for longer than a minute or two). It was an interesting experience, since there were multiple elections happening, so I had to fill out four different ballots (voting for three different parties in the process, btw), put them all in an envelope, then I had to fill out another form to confirm that this is my vote, and then I had to put both the envelope and the confirmation form in another envelope which was already paid for and had a different colour so that the post could recognize immediately that this is an important election letter. I only had to put into the next post box, the request was done online btw. More complicated than I am used to, but I guess as easy as it can be. I am wondering how high the percentage of postal vote will be in two weeks. For sure higher than usual. Which actually might lead to the votes being counted earlier this time around, not later like it will be the case in the US. Ironically I had a YouTube video about what is currently going on in the US Post office running in the background, one which was even more detailed than John Olivers. For example, I didn't know that the post office is actually part of the US constitution, and that it wasn't even meant to make a revenue in the first place. Really fascinating.
  7. Scarlett did get criticism for the leotard in the second look, but it was a very mild one since the overall look still worked. And I think Michelle would have been harder to her had she known how often she had fallen back to the leotard in the last weeks.
  8. Having Black Panther in the opening credits was a nice touch. Thought it was odd that there was no mention otherwise. This police department...wow, just wow. They are basically acting like the SS. "Warehousing"? Yeah, there is already a word for this. It's Concentration Camp. John is not the only one who is angry. I predicted that the end of 2020 would be dicey last year, with both the election in the US and a hard Brexit looming. But I didn't see a global epidemic, protests all over the world and what is looks like it might become a civil war happening. Sadly the RNC looks ridiculous to us, but apparently there are many people who buy into the nonsense.
  9. or if she had added a simple circle shirt to the outfit. That would have given it a different vibe.
  10. The saltiness didn't bother me, what bothered me was her unwillingness to listen to the judges critic. Granted, certain judges really have no leg to stand on when it comes to make-up critic, but Brooklyn's notes were always very on point, there was a lot one could learn by listening closely to her. What kept Pryanka out of the bottom were her first two outfits plus, as basic as her bodysuit was, at least she could walk in it and it suited her. And her make-up was just stunning, as usual. I think she doesn't get enough attention for it, because it is not as usual as Kim Chi's, but she really knows how to paint.
  11. Yeah, for a moment I wanted to check if it is April's fools day or something like this. This came completely out of the left field.
  12. Lemon reminded me more of Shangela, in that she was really, really good in branding herself, but without being at the centre of every controversy the way Shangela always is. I really appreciate a Queen who knows who she is and stays on theme throughout, no matter how young she still is. And one thing Lemon never was, was boring...which is more than I can say about the ones who made it to the top, except Pryanka, but in Pryanka's case it is more her natural charisma. To quote Ru: she has the "it-Factor".
  13. There were three looks, not just one. First round was between Pryanka and Scarlet. Scarlet's was more elegant and difficult to make, but Pryanka screamed more Christmas. Rita did the worst. Second round I actually think that Pryanka nailed that one. The only one of the four looks I liked. Third round I think that nobody really did well. Honestly, after two boring gowns which both didn't came near ones we have seen for this theme in the past and were both badly executed, Pryanka was nearly a relief, even though it was a body suit. At least the top half was okay. Scarlet basically won that one by default, because she did something different, even if the execution was lacking. Honestly, I would have had Jimbo and Rita in the bottom too, and I am okay with how this ended. Thing with Jimbo is: Aside from being a one trick pony, her makeup really got worse and worse over the season. They already told her to blend the skin colour with the body colour for the fashion show challenge, and she ignored it completely. I guess Jimbo just isn't in a "I have still some things to learn" mindset, which is not a good thing. Maybe seeing the show from the outside will help. I am still bitter about Lemon being eliminated last week, in my mind she should be in the top in Rita's place. Otherwise I am okay with this.
  14. What bodes well for Rita is that they praised her to the heavens the whole season. I can't count how often they gave her a win for a second best performance...or one I couldn't even remember. I want Pryanka to win.
  15. It's so sad. I mean, he isn't by far the first MCU actor who died, but the first who was so young.
  16. I agree...there is a lot about Jimbo one can appreciate, but she is not perfect. She often lacks this last polish.
  17. Honestly, it is the highest hit percentage of any show I know, it even beat out White Collar (and that one was more a case of the week affair, despite having a somewhat overarching plot). Thus said, Cloak and Dagger is just as tightly written, just more low key overall.
  18. One has to consider the history of such walls..let's take the Chinese Wall....an overly expensive project which wasn't particularly effective and bankrupted two dynasties. Or the Berlin Wall...an overly expensive project which was part of the reason why the GDR was completely bankrupt, and only lead to more and more crazy plans to overcome it. And that one was closed, period. It's not like people can't just enter the US over the regular border crossings. Or if drugs don't make it into the country per ship. Or tunnel.
  19. Well, I said four years ago that the wall would be nothing but a monument for American stupidity...and that the US would actually be better off investing the money they put into border protection into Mexico.
  20. Honestly, few Drag Queens do. I remember when Asia's partner fell in love with that fringy thing and really slayed walking in it, full of confidence. So, did Asia allow him to wear it on the runway and look for something she could wear which would compliment that look without copying it? No, naturally not, she slapped together a copy which just didn't have the same flow at all and let him wear it, while she wore the one he loved so much. I can count on one hand how many queens actually managed to make their partner look happy and glam while also managing to put themselves in a good light. And granted, sometimes it is not their fault, some "clients" are less ready to jump into it than others. But I really think that the first step should always be to find something the partner feels comfortable and fierce in. The second is to find something for yourself which fits the theme.
  21. Yeah, I mean, the makeup was rough, but there was so much love and detail in the outfits, and it felt like the jury was reaching for reasons to rate her down with their "her energy wasn't as usual" BS. I also had Scarlet clearly in the bottom. My jaw dropped when they started to compliment her. Okay, she put her partner into a leotard, but frankly, kudos to him for suffering through it, but I honestly don't think that this is the best way to ease someone into drag. That's why I really appreciated Pryanka going for a skirt for her partner.
  22. I just saw the news….so sad! Chichi had so much energy and was one of the best dancers the show ever had. I'll never forget her performance twerking upside down. She was always one of my favourites, even though she tended to struggle to keep up with the seasoned queens.
  23. The beg crawling threw me off even more...if you want to interpret the song more serious, fine, but then don't do the beg crawling, it looked more ridiculous than anything Lemon did deliberately. It was very noticeable that the camera showed as little as possible of Rita's performance.
  24. And just imagine all the fancy therapy they can do for his back! after years of walking loop-sided, that one must really hurt.
  25. Yeah, those are all hot contenders...the only surprise is the lack of Self Control on the list, but I guess everyone would pick either that one or "What if" and not both, in order to keep the list variable.
