  1. I agree that her dancing in that brief scene for 1/20th of one number was good. But Chicago involves nonstop dance numbers for 2+ hours. I understand she did actually go on on Broadway before the shutdown, so I guess she got it down, but based on her tiredness after that one little practice session I wouldn't have had high hopes.
  2. Yes, that was odd when she was saying "you look like you're in good shape" like an old friend. I don't think they see much of each other, and from what they show on the show, when they do, they talk about the kids exclusively.
  3. As they say in the restaurant industry, "if you have time to lean, you have time to clean." And I agree that Ciara and Paget have remained professional, which may be why Georgia thinks they don't have a real romantic relationship - I guess if people aren't hanging all over each other they are "brother and sister."
  4. I'm surprised yours is the only comment mentioning this. I thought it was the most endearing part of the episode. I have always found Raquel a bit vapid, but she seemed very genuine in her emotions and compliments to James. And he did look great, to begin with, but even more so after she boosted his confidence. If he can stay on the wagon, he is the only person on this show (aside from Lisa and Ken) who has a real career ahead of him after the show ends.
  5. There was a conversation between Jenna and the other stews toward the beginning of the show about her service standards. I thought I heard her say that she didn't want them to hold the plates with their thumbs on the top (the way most people normally carry plates, and the way Adam holds the plates when he serves). I think Georgia took that to heart and was trying to carry plates with her hand flat under the bottom without touching the top, and Adam thought that was ridiculous and likely to lead to dropping. Jenna and Adam need to clarify how they both want the plates to be handled.
  6. Does it matter? They all thought it was the funniest remark ever. These "brus" are the most unlikeable group of people I have ever seen, and I have watched a lot of reality tv over the years.
  7. From what I could make of it, Ashton was making fun of Tanner about his constant calls with his mom. Kate was still shaking from Ashton's second sexual assault, and asked him what his mom would think of him. Later on in the galley, he went off about how everyone on the deck crew makes fun of Tanner and his mom, and Kate said that while that isn't a great management style, it wasn't her point; she was asking whether Ashton's mom would consider him a gentleman.
  8. I think she was genuinely afraid to stay on the boat with "Smashton" aboard. If it hadn't been for Tanner and Kevin in the car, he would have hit her. Yes, at some point Production would step in, but what exactly is that point? Kate didn't want to find out.
  9. I have to agree. While I sympathize with Simone, the rest of the crew members depend on the tip. The times she has tried service, she has been terrible - the guests asking for food to the point the primary went to Kevin directly was her first try, and when Kate put her on beverage service, she just wandered around the guests without asking if they wanted anything. If she really wants to be a stew as her career, she needs to learn service in a different environment, like a restaurant where no one else is depending on her for their tip. But she is also a mathematician who speaks several languages so why is she even doing this? If she doesn't like office life, she could be a translator and still travel the world with no ironing involved.
  10. I hope that he will at least be embarrassed by the fact that Kate reassigned Simone to laundry to protect her from him.
  11. I agree about Ben. He didn't come off well in either the recent season of BDM or his last season of original BD. I used to like him a lot and looked forward to his "rescues" but I could do with a few seasons without him - maybe he could come back for a Below Deck All-Stars season :).
  12. TRK, did Kate kick your puppy or something? She certainly has her faults but Kevin was an idiot on this episode. First he turns his back on the captain when he's still talking (I know you think Captain Lee shouldn't have been informed by Kate, but regardless, you don't turn your back on your superior), then he doesn't order enough seafood for either night (the "extravaganza" the previous night was so lackluster, but luckily the guests were too drunk to care). I am not a big eater but the portions shown on this dinner were tiny (a few shrimp and a 2x2 serving of fish), and the captain didn't even get that, because genius Kevin ate his portion. What if Brandy had decided to come to dinner? She was wandering around like a wraith afterwards so it's not out of the realm of possibility. Then he would have been two portions short. I don't know how his lack of ordering and his eating a portion is production's fault. And his drowning his sorrows in alcohol and calling the captain a "C" word (not meaning "Captain") doesn't help his case. Next week doesn't look much better for him.
  13. Seriously, Sars of TWOP is doing recaps on this site? Yay!!
  14. I know, how gross was that? Some random icky guy in a bar and she's practically making out with him? With Tamra standing by encouraging of course. With all the other hideousness going on in this episode, I still was disappointed in Shannon for that, and am surprised that this is the first mention of it in the comments.
  15. That's the thing though. Kameron knows that trash is a trigger word for Brandy and Stephanie. She could say rude or vulgar without that reaction - because those words are adjectives describing behavior, whereas trash is a noun describing the person.
