  1. I'm sure this won't be popular, but I couldn't stand the Mark Green character. Below his thin nice guy veneer was in my estimation a self-righteous, selfish and essentially weak man. He claimed to be in pain regarding the "loss" of wife and infant daughter, but clearly he made a choice in favor of his career over family. Regarding his concern for friends, he'd help out, but only to the extent that it wouldn't adversely affect him or his reputation. Then of course there was the time he committed what in California would have been deemed a premeditated first degree murder. Not the most admirable of characters. ER was good at adding realistic character flaws to otherwise sympathetic characters, but to me Mark Green was, in short, a grown up version of the grade school weenie who tattled on his classmates.
