  1. Ru sure likes his emotionally fragile queens. I worry for Kween’s mental health. Also Spankie’s drag is seriously ratchet. Her girl group look looked like one of the losing contestants of a makeover challenge. And I don’t think she gives a flying fig.
  2. I wonder if Poppy is hitting the barriers because he’s straight? We are so used to seeing queer people escape the straight jacket of a hetero world through drag. We can’t see “the real Poppy” because Poppy is just an act.
  3. Well I think we can add to Snatch Games rules: social media make up artist impersonations are never entertaining
  4. Is it just me, or is this a remarkably unlikeable bunch of people? I’m not liking the condescending vibes from the older Queens. Oh and the less said about Caged Queens the better!
  5. I didn’t bother watching but my OH had it on in the background and his comment was “this is bad”. Also I did get a bit of a wry smile at RaJah being pissed at having to sing about how great America is. Is Ru Team Trump at heart?
  6. Dayum this season has been a slog. When did drag race stop being fun? I don’t care for any of the finalists: - Eureka is plain annoying and not half as funny as she thinks she is - Ginger has her moments but she comes across as scripted and fake and I feel for some reason there is a streak of nastiness in her - Rajah has a voice that strips paint and I can’t stand to be in the same room as it - Kylie has me torn. She seems nice enough and can be entertaining but I don’t think what she is doing is drag, it’s more burlesque. And as a final point: none of the final 4 look different in and out of drag. Isn’t that completely missing the point?
  7. Indeed. One might even argue that there are only two women competing: Jiggly and Kylie!
  8. Can we please have a moratorium on the word “bitches”? And also, when did “yarl” become a word in the English language?
  9. Nope. Not feeling it. I still have trouble distinguishing the queens. And a lot of unpleasantness in the room. Not shady reads or “go back to Party City” craziness. Just nastiness. Or am I just burned out?
  10. I’m interested to see how Australian drag translates to the world of RPDR. I am no expert but the world of pageants, balls and banjee is a whole universe away from the midnight show at the Xchange Hotel that I grew up with and to me still epitomises “down under” drag. What I see so far suggests competitors that tend to the latter rather than the former. I think Michelle will get it but Ru may struggle. We’ll see.
  11. Joe Black - nul points (seriously, no nul points joke?) Also I feel the urge to buy something from H&M now. Did anyone see the “behind the lockout” special? Woah that was brutal. Cherry gets extra kudos from me for facing the front line as an NHS nurse. But a few funny moments too - one of them being Lawrence redoing his hair to match the first half season!
