  1. Ashley is definitely of a "surgery is a magic pill" mentality. It gets pushed back and she goes off the deep end. If she were really committed, she would've realized that it's not about the surgery, it's a whole lifestyle change that involves breaking long entrenched bad habits. After surgery, she probably would've gone back to eating whatever she wanted. Definitely in the wrong mindset for Dr. Now's program. I agree that she should've been prescribed therapy a bit earlier than normal. Not to be disrespectful, but who else was shocked when she said she had been raped a third time? It's a horrible thought to think that she went through it three times on three different occasions. Absolutely awful.
  2. Her GoFundMe is closed. She raised $242... time to parrrtay 😄
  3. I mean this was the most revealing scene from Joyce's supersized episode. I wish they'd included it in the original ep.
  4. Oh wow, only 16 posts in Travia's thread?😁 Well, there's really nothing to be snarky about is there. From the beginning he came off as somebody you wanted to root for and, even though he had a bit of a bumpy ride, he pulled it together in the end. He and Yazmin seem like amazing people and so supportive of one another... unlike some of the toxic relationships we've seen in other episodes. We were due for someone who had a great disposition and was a hard worker to inject some positivity after the Bethany's and Gina's. One bit that did make me roll my eyes was the conversation between Yazmin and Travis before they were about to leave for Houston and they talked about being afraid that Dr. Now was going to turn him away... like come on, man, there wouldn't be a camera crew following you around if there was a chance Dr. Now was going to turn you away, what are they going to fill up the remaining hour of the episode with? Footage of You eating another two pizzas, wings and a pie? 😂 I do wonder if they stage those conversations.
  5. I read about the pornography stuff, which got me curious so I searched around... Now.... has anybody checked to see if these men are still alive?😁
  6. Think we all had Gina pegged as a narcissistic princess in the first five minutes, loves to just lay there whole everybody else does everything, her family nag her to take a bath probably because she was starting to stink up the living room. I don't understand how anyone in their right mind can just sit in their own filth and not feel the need to clean. That scene where Gina gets on Beth's case on buying take out, on the phone, and then you see the family giving eachother looks, did anybody else assume those looks were because of Gina? You can imagine my surprise when Mom starts ragging on Beth... like shit did I miss something? Oh lord, doing her sister's maid of honor speech on the phone, for shame. I mean her sister really looked let down, despite the smiles. She says she's embarrassed that everyone knew she had to be out in the car... so then what's the difference whether she was out in the car or inside? At least if she were inside she wouldn't have let her sister down. She sounded like she was phoning-it-in anyway.😁 I know this is mean but did anybody else think that it was a fire hazard with Gina sitting, pretty much, blocking the doorway during the wedding rehearsal? Love Gina's fake "Wooooooow" in front of the nutritionist... come on, man, you knew that shit was bad, don't pretend 😂 I wonder if people who visit that little place where Dr. Now's office is located, if they all try and find a space to park on the other side of the lot, I can imagine a lot of car door dings from his patients trying to get out of their cars and hitting someone else's car with their door. I bet that happens in the spaces closer to his office.😂
  7. I was late watching J.T. Clark's episode. I don't think it would've mattered if I missed it, it was pretty boring and J.T.'s monotone voice almost put me to sleep a couple of times. My favourite part would be his 10-15 minute scene talking about how he loves food, in the beginning. Favourite tidbits include: "It's all I live for and it's all I wanna do" "Eating is better than sex" (Guess what J.T. and Jessica ain't doin') 😁 "If I'm awake, I'm either eating or waiting to eat, if I'm asleep, I'm dreaming of eating... I don't even want to be awake, a lot of times, if I can't eat" "I hate when Jessica asks me to carry the groceries in, because Jessica knows I'll d anything for food" (this made me laugh) "Feeding other people almost became a euphoric thing for me..."..... riiiigght. and he compares getting out of his bed to cotton candy or pudding. So... bottomline, Captain Pancake Nipples likes food. 😂 I'm glad Jessica woke up and broke up with him, seemed more like he wanted her around to get him food and probably clean rather than a girlfriend. Really annoyed me when he's just standing there and bitching about wanting to get to the hotel room, not to mention the way she's carrying his precious food, while also having to lock up the car. One thing I did notice is that when he said "don't get all that now, I need to get to the room, just give me something I can carry so we can go." sounded like a voice over because it didn't sound like it was part of the scene, but I don't know why you'd record extra V.O. of yourself snapping at your girlfriend.
  8. I feel like this is the kind of stuff a high school emo-kid writes. But I guess poetry is his way of expressing himself and getting his feelings out. He must feel so isolated in his family, I know a television show doesn't show you everything, but he seemed hardly connected, in any way, to them, he's hardly around and when he is, he's like alone and quiet, maybe he has social awkwardness or something and doesn't know how to talk to people.
  9. Ha! First trainwreck of the season. 😄 Last time it took us about 6 episodes to get it. It really pissed me off how Bethany just blatantly lies to Dr. Now during each visit, not just the "I'm doing everything I'm suppose too" thing, but didn't she tell him Sheldon didn't bring her bad food (we saw him being her burgers) and also, she says she's doing everything right, but just 2 minutes ago said she was going to therapy because it was a requirement of the program, but she wasn't exactly committed to it was she? She said she thought she didn't need it. I don't know if it was my imagination, but everytime I looked in her eyes, when Dr. Now was talking to her, I could see her dismissing it immediately and I knew she was going to go back and keep doing what she wanted. Did anybody else see it? Dr. Now called it in the beginning, she wanted a quick fix, and when she realized how much work was going to have to go into it, she couldn't be bothered, it was easier to just say "Oh, Dr. Now doesn't understand what I'm going through..." etc etc. I have to say, I also get a manipulator vibe from her. I am seriously worried for that family, I mean seeing Isabella walk in the door and just plop into a chair that is identical to her mother's and you see Zowie, Isabella and Bethany side by side by side and it's a bit disturbing, I have to say, especially when Isabella says that her life revolves around taking care of her mother. I can't get a read on Sheldon, I mean I never see him around with the family, it's weird how much he's absent. Maybe he's camera shy? This weeks gaggables (shit that made me gag 😄 ) included Bethany dipping her burger into a plate of what must've been half a bottle of ketchup... I doubt she could taste anything but that salty-sweetness... and did I see a whole pizza box of garlic bread? 😮
  10. So.... did something explode and two cars rolled across the road, while they were at the drive through, or did I start fantasizing because the episode was dull? 😄 Yes, as most of you have said, not a very exciting episode was it? I'm indifferent to Lindsey's plight... I saw too many excuses and self pity. Second time around she decided she was going to add 'Cheat Days' and it was like "Um, so basically you still don't get it" One of you mentioned that Paul was hard to read... I agree. I do feel that he was a bit of a jackass... I mean I get it, Lindsey did jump the gun on moving to Houston... and he has to work, not everyone can just take a year off from their employment... but he didn't even come on her surgery day? I guess I'm just surprised how uninvolved he was as a spouse. Maybe he just wanted to get drunk without being nagged, I'm not buying the "stockpiling" 😄 This is not going to be one of the memorable ones. In a years time, Lindsey will have her WATN follow up and I'm going to be scratching my head going "who again?", even the flashbacks won't help. I think I'm ready for a trainwreck now. 😄
  11. Boy, that snuck up on me, I had no idea the show was back, so this is me, late into the game. 😄 A nice, easy episode to start off the season. I know we're all eager to get to the trainwrecks, but you know I realized that I need to be eased into the bad ones, can't hit me with an Angie J first episode, that'll fuck me up for the rest of the season. It's unanimous, Lonnie and John are awesome and are a delight. Anybody who can get Dr. Now into a smiling mood each visit is someone you want to get behind. Loved these guys, and I loved how they are with eachother and other people, there's a great energy about them... or maybe it's just Lonnie. 😄 Great episode and a great start to the season. Like a couple of you, I thought the stuff with the mother may have been staged. I mean based off how she was during the dinner, I didn't expect that confrontation scene to go well, but she was surprisingly calm and like "You can talk to me about anything...".... but, hey, pretty sure the waking up scenes are staged too... unless the camera crew snuck in and watched them sleep waiting for them to wake up. Just on an off point, when Lonnie bought he and John clothes the first time, he held up a shirt and one of them said "we can be twinkers (or twinners)" and I got an image of Andy Samberg with a goofy grin going "Yeah, you can!" 😄
  12. 50 minutes in and I was like "The title lists Chad, right? Where's Chad?" 😄 Chad always seemed a likeable, easy-going, guy and he obviously loves his family and was willing to step up and do what needed to be done so he could secure a job and provide for them. I liked seeing the update on him and it was good to see him still on track. When Mary revealed she was going to propose to June it was definitely a shocker. I mean they've only known eachother a few months, right? A lot of the relationship was long distance, they seemed to have only met a handful of times... like, how do you get from that to marriage? I do wish them the best of luck, though. June was nice follow up, as some of you have mentioned, it seemed real dicey for a bit because all we saw around her marriage and her move to AR was her eating a lot of junk food. So it was a pleasant surprise that she hit her goal for Dr. Now. Haha! Saved crazy Pauline for last. There's really nothing to say about her that hasn't been said before. She's a total nutter, I didn't like her in her original episode and I still don't like her now. The great thing is that now she's quit the program we don't have to see her anymore.... I'm still haunted by her claim that she lost weight by having a lot of sex with her ex-husband (ref https://starcasm.net/my-600-lb-life-pauline-potter-update/). Dillon exhibits the behaviour of a person who's been around an oppressive entity like Pauline for far too long. He looks so tired, beat down and trapped. Dude has gained a lot of weight himself and that haircut.... I mean did they just put a salad bowl on his head and cut the bits hanging out to save money? I remember his cousin saying that him taking care of his mother all the time has made him withdrawn and it seems to have gotten worse.... this is how serial killers are made 😄 No, I hope he gets out, finds a job and goes "Mom, I can't do this anymore, I'm out". Wow, so is it really the end of the season? In general, I thought it was pretty good. Started off a bit slow, but after the trainwrecks started coming out of the woodwork, it picked up and there was a nice range of fails to "being on track" to successes for the WaTN episodes. I know I said I did't want to see the Assanti brothers again, but maybe we can have a proper follow up of Justin for next season? The ones we got last year and this year weren't proper follow ups, they were just one long episode on four parts.... anyway, what did you all think of the season? Btw, how do they film the WaTN episodes? Do they wait and come back or is there a splinter camera crew that continues to follow these participants after they're done with the main episode content? For some of these peeps, it's been four years... can you imagine having your life documented for that long? (yes I know the first season followed those people for seven years)... it's just a really long time.
  13. Jesus, the Amarillo episode is heartbreaking. From the get-go, there were already so many red flags with the family: House is a dump, the revelation that Janella has anger issues, the little daughter seemingly more comfortable being with dad, and seems withdrawn, the "witness", probably one of the other kids, being really vague and, clearly, uncomfortable being interviewed by Zak... and then the GAC themselves catching Janella in a lie. I don't care if a demon jumped out at GAC and yelled "Boo!" that woman is clearly abusing her daughter, and herself, as well. Someone needs to fucking call CPS on this family, stat, before Janella's psychological condition worsens and one day she does something really horrible to her kid. I mean you want to see a demon? You're looking at her (Janella).
  14. I seem to remember that Ghost Hunters made some comments about GA and Bobby Mackeys. But I'm not sure who took a shot at who first. Ghost Hunters was really boring anyway. lol.
  15. Late to the thread again 😂 I wasn't very interested in Liz's part. It's not her fault I just saw her main episode once (and barely remember it) and missed the first year of her WATN. But, even though she struggled a bit, it was nice that she pulled it together in the end. As for Jennifer and Marissa, gotta love the soapy elements; Ohhh, Jennifer went to stay with a man who is clearly no good for her... without telling Marissa!!! Stay tuned to find out how Marissa will react when she finds out!! 🙀🙀🙀 It's strange to see mother-daughter relationship where the daughter seems to be a lot more stable than the mother. Jennifer is selfish and really needy... I think she's actually more like a teenager than a 42 year old woman. I think one of you said in another thread that victims of sexual abuse are trapped in the mentality of that age? It was good Marissa went back to Cali, she killed it there and damn, her sister's house is awesome. Overall, compared to some of the more trainwreck episodes, it was a bit more run of the mill, but it wasn't completely boring.
