  1. They were teaching it when I was in high school in 2008.
  2. That was my least favorite hairstyle on her. The shorter bob she had at the beginning and end of season 4 was nice though. She was someone who could pull off short and long hair, it just depended on how she styled it.
  3. Too much personal drama and some really bad storylines/writing is was killed the quality of the show during the later years IMO. What was once a smart, engaging medical drama in its early years declined into a melodramatic soap opera that I could barely sit through. Also the main cast during the later years was just not up to par with the original group. So many characters during that era that I either didn't care for or couldn't stand watching. Speaking of Abby, while I liked her character I did not enjoy the overwhelming focus on her and Luka with all their personal drama swallowing up the show. Abby and Luka changed the DNA of ER and turned it into something totally different.
  4. I agree that season 15 was a step up from seasons 12-14 but only because of the cameos from the original cast and the addition of Banfield. The majority of the season however was still plagued by too much personal drama and lots of uninteresting episodes IMO. There are plenty of episodes from season 15 that I would never sit through again.
  5. Gates and Brenner are two of my least favorite characters in the series. They were both so reckless and arrogant and never faced any consequences for anything. Of course by the time they came around the show was just a soap opera and any sense of realism from the early years was long gone. I swear ER had one of the worst drops in quality of any long running TV series. Seasons 12-15 were an unnecessary addition to the show 😄
  6. Chen was a character that just seemed to be "there". She had some big storylines for sure but more often than not she just faded into the background while other characters took prominence. By the end of her run she was barely on the show and it was hardly a loss when she left. I like the actress and character but Chen didn't add much to ER.
  7. Luka bugs me a lot during the series. I initially liked his character in Season 6 when he was just a fresh face and generally more likeable. He went downhill fast after the mugger incident and became such a dark, self righteous and unpleasant character who never really faced any consequences for his behavior a lot of the time. It seems like they just didn't know what to do with him unless it had something to do with Abby.
  8. One of the worst episodes of season 8 for sure and one that I have only watched once. Completely disposable.
  9. Susan was my favorite female character on the show and I enjoyed her during both of her runs. She was smart, capable, a fantastic ER doctor and didn't let her emotions get the best of her when dealing with patients. It helps that she wasn't as bogged down by personal drama as other characters. Even the stuff with Chloe never got to be too much.
  10. Chandler and Monica were my favorite couple on the show. They had a nice build up over the series from friendship to marriage and avoided all the drama that Ross and Rachel were notorious for. They complimented one another so well and seem the most believable as a couple.
  11. The domestic violence storyline from season 8 is one of my least favorites arcs in the whole series. One of many plots from that season that are entirely disposable and ultimately led nowhere. It seems like it was just another vehicle to give Abby more personal drama (one of too many to count lol). In earlier seasons a plot like that would have been handled mostly in the ER and all the drama with Abby would have been avoided. While I do like Abby, I did not like how all her misery and drama started taking over the show in later seasons. I don't sympathize with Brian assaulting Abby but I also don't see Luka as being much better for beating him up later on. Ironically, it just led to him avoiding jail time and making things much worse for Abby, forcing her to live with Luka (no doubt setting up the Abby/Luka/Carter triangle later into the season). A really frustrating storyline that ended abruptly and one I think the show would be much better off without.
  12. Seasons 12-14 were the nadir of the series IMO. On my first watch through I had to quit watching midway through season 13 as I was just so bored and burnt out by the show by that point. When I decided to go back and finish I could barely get through it. Season 15 was a slight step up in quality but only because we got the originals back for some episodes. I maintain the show should have ended when Carter left at the end of season 11.
  13. Agreed. It's almost like they were going out of their way to make him late lol.
  14. The show was a lot better IMO before they got The Lunch Box and became financially stable. The early seasons where they were struggling and just getting by was a lot more interesting/realistic to watch. There was also more of a cozy, lighthearted feel in the early years with only bits of drama sprinkled in.
  15. Mark's beating in the bathroom was probably the most brutal and graphic of all the assaults shown in the series. The way it comes in two waves with the attacker leaving then coming back and viciously assaulting him some more, with Mark having no way of recovering or fighting back is very hard to watch. Plus the fact that his attacker just got away with it and there was never any real justice for him makes it that much more frustrating.
