  1. I felt icky with the Carly/Shaun scene. I know this relationship eventually has to have a sexual aspect, but Shaun is portrayed as childlike and innocent and it just felt wrong, to me. This is definitely a biased and stereotypical opinion and I apologize for any potential offense, but I'd rather Shaun begin a sexual relationship with someone on the same experience and maturity level as he is. In my mind, that means another person on the spectrum or potentially someone with a social anxiety disorder that puts them on the same footing. This relationship creates an unequal power dynamic and it doesn't feel entirely moral.
  2. What I found really great about this episode was the takeaway that if Elliot would have gone through with his plan to blackmail her (losing custody because she's been doing drugs)...he would have failed. Because she's wasn't. She kept the pill bottle as a reminder. So it's a really good thing Mr. Robot stepped in and pursued the more 'humane' way of getting the code. Maybe a lesson there?
  3. Connor tells the kid's social worker that he'd like to reunite him with his mom for just a minute and instead of the social worker saying, "That's a really bad idea. Absolutely DO NOT do that," (s)he says, "Sure. You have my blessing." And then rats him out? What in actual fuck? That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.
  4. Anyone notice the flash of dead gun-shot wounded Angela when Elliot was talking about the photo WhiteRose sent him? It reminded me of Fight Club. I actually paused to find the frame. It was pretty gruesome. This show has always been hard to follow but with such a long break and such a short "previously", I'm even more twisted. I have no idea what I should be rooting for at this point.
  5. Gotta say this about Emily... she has a type.
  6. Happy had just pulled the file an episode or two ago when he ran into the Reyes brothers and figured how who they were... so it's not weird that it was convenient. Grandma Burn Victim (GBV) explained what happened to her in this episode. She saw the fire coming and decided to let it take her. She decided she hasn't much left to live for so she hid in the wine cellar and expected to die. A firefighter rescued her, but not until after she was severely burned. Her family is sending her to a shrink since she, apparently, is a danger to herself. But she's since decided that she was saved because she "has more to do". We're not sure what that is yet, except telling Felipe that he has another son and potentially jumping his bones one last time. I, too, don't like the plotholes of: how did you not find the tracker? and why did you not kill the mercs? I did like our boys shooting the Swole Boy in the leg and I like the overlap with SoA characters and the little call-backs to the OG show. I'm glad Happy lives.
  7. I, personally, don't remember how he ended up a wanted fugitive. And if anyone would have asked, I would have told them he killed Damian at the end of last season... but I guess I wrote my own season finale. So right now we have a strong, independent Cookie... A Black Magic Girls failure - which is ridiculous considering the women who run it are probably two of the smartest characters we've ever met in Empire history. A pregnancy that was bound to end in tragedy. Barely a glimpse of Hakeem. Lucious banging Damian's hot daughter. Great plan there, Gimpy. And why couldn't Andre just give Mouse a cushy job and be done with it?
  8. Seems to me the cops will think the carnage was the result of a gang war between the Chechens and the Bolivians over Heroin. I can't imagine Barry being seen as involved at all. And the cops don't even believe Fuches exist, so they wouldn't even know to be looking for him.
  9. So many dropped plot points... I don't know where to start. NCAA lawsuit. What happened there? Are we to assume Spencer caved in order to allow his little buddy to be eligible? They didn't make that clear at all. Last we checked, Spencer was doing little buddy's mom. I guess that's over too? What happened with buying a stadium? Does he own a stadium now? Mostly, I just want to know how Spencer is suddenly so flush that he's got a gorgeous beach house on a private beach and can afford to retire. Wasn't he in debt to his eyeballs a second ago?
  10. It's reminiscent of a woman chopping off her hair after getting raped - just doing something drastic to your appearance to potentially make you less attractive. It also doesn't hurt that it reduces drag in the water - so maybe he's intending to "run away" and live under water for a while.
  11. My assumption was that "he" wanted Octavia dead; Octavia knew what was coming, accepted it and told Hope to let him know that mission was accomplished. Why she disappeared is beyond me and pretty stupid.
  12. Well crap, you're so right. I don't know why I made that leap. But yeah, I feel like they tried to make it clear that Homelander couldn't - for whatever reason. But I guess he can. Now I'm wondering if any of the other super-kids are super too? If Compound V mutated their genes enough to make them super, why couldn't/wouldn't it be passed down to their kids? And isn't that a concern for Vought?
  13. Homelander was shocked and said something like, "I thought I couldn't..." And with all the supes sleeping around, it would've happened already - and yet, there are no super babies running around. The company line is that those born with powers were chosen by God. Not one super claimed to be born of super parents. Now, the question is - are they sterile because of the Compound V or were they purposely sterilized by Vought so they wouldn't flood the market or have supe competition?
  14. I miss Mike. This show has become so cringeworthy. Nothing makes a lick of sense.
  15. Sadly, I was so bored. I hate when shows I love go out with a whimper instead of a bang. I would have much rather focused on the overarching story than all these dumb theme-of-the-weeks for the last few episodes. //sad trombone//
  16. “Possession is 9/10 of the law”???? What in actual fuck? How is that an expression on another planet, hundreds (thousands?) of years in the future where they don’t have a legal system even remotely close to where that expression originated from? ”Sharing is caring”!? Who the hell is writing for Josephine? How is that an expression in fucking Sanctum? “Zoology 101”? Because I’m sure college class naming conventions survived the apocalypse. Everything about this episode dialogue is pissing me off.
  17. I think Abby knows she's not Clarke, but it buying time to come up with a plan. I hate the Spiral-Anomaly storyline. Just. So. Dumb.
  18. Maybe "host" refers to being able to "host" some kind of organism on the planet/moon. IE because they have Nightblood, they don't die when the alien parasite gets into their body and takes over! Oooh, invasion of the body snatchers. I don't know how to feel about Octavia. She used to be my favorite (and the most interesting) character. Now she's too overboard and one-note. Even if she's feeling these things, she knows what her brother wants to see and what he expects. She's a good actress... why doesn't she at least try to fake it. Dioza is capable and fun. I can appreciate someone not acting dumb for the sake of plot. Also, if this is a moon, why hasn't anyone considered colonizing the actual planet it's orbiting?
  19. Having the thoughts, desires and maybe even inclination to push an asshole onto the tracks does not a psychopath/sociopath make. We've probably all had terrible thoughts - whether about violence toward someone else or even suicidal considerations. Not acting on them is what separates the mentally ill from the rest of us. Sure, she's closer to the line now that she's in the midst of this unhealthy obsession, but I wouldn't classify her a psychopath. I do wonder what Caroline's endgame is. Did she bring Eve in to help control V? It appears she's been involved with Konstantin for quite some time and was already aware of who Oksana was/is... so why did she need Eve? To what end?
  20. Did anyone notice the doctors' names when head-research-doctor guy was introducing his team and suggesting the new girl-doctor "with the humble beginnings" work closer with them? Dr. Rich, Dr. White & Dr. Mann. This episode was strong with the side-eye and the girl-power.
  21. I do not need Maya on my screen ever again. She's always been annoying, but when did she become such an entitled diva? Who do you think you are, girl? Dang.
  22. Certainly Lucious wasn't a model father, but Andre's bipolar disorder was and is a genetic condition. Lucious can certainly be blamed for his shitty response to it and treatment of it just as he can be blamed for throwing Jamal in a garbage can. Parents can be blamed for any number of issues their children have but at some point, adults have to take responsibility for their own choices and actions. Andre's had it hard. But he's smart and capable and Empire's success can be tracked back to many decisions Andre has made. So, on the one hand, Andre's decisions are his and they're fair - but on the other hand, family is family and when you're at death's door, your decision-making can and likely will be skewed.
  23. Disappointed in the sexism that Cookie didn't get hers. Instead she kind of almost cheated, but at the last minute didn't -- even though, as been said before, she deserves it. If not for Treasure, for the many MANY other instances of shitty cheating ass Lucious. Acting like there's no way for fans to forgive HER for an indiscretion even though we've forgiven Lucious a dozen times. Agree that Cookie has no right to be angry with Lucious about Kingsley - but she has plenty of right to be angry about all his other failings over the years...the Kingsley drama just doesn't make any sense and it continues to bug me. I enjoy Cookie's relationship with her sisters. I feel like they do a really nice job there. Spent most of the hour wondering how they're going to write Jussie out. Love Andre and hate seeing him suffer. PS What happened to Kingsley's meeting with Clair Huxtable? Is she coming back into the mix ever?
  24. Exactly, so why return? There's spring everywhere, even down "south". There's stuff growing everywhere. If they don't have a home... if they keep moving and wandering... if we've never seen them before because they don't actually live 'round those parts -- WHY COME BACK? They don't make sense to begin with, why should they start making sense now.
  25. And if they left for the winter, why would they come back? What does their current situation have that they couldn't find down South? They don't have a camp. They roam with herds of walkers. Aren't there herds of walkers *everywhere*? You'd have to assume there are groups of people down that way too if they just wanted someone to terrify for no reason at all. None of this makes any sense.
