Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
sagittarius sue replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
Lately Austin has increasingly shown a smug, mean-spirited manner towards Joy, and that's on video! He might be even worse away from what is filmed. I feel sorry for her, but I doubt that she'll ever do anything about it. -
The Duggalos: Jinger and the Holy Goalie

Jinger: Jeremy likes Seinfeld so I like Seinfeld. -
I don't think there was much civilian travel (excluding merchant ships transporting supplies) between America and Great Britain during the war. At this time the British held New York and Philadelphia with a strong blockade, while the American Navy was tiny but had some success with privateering on merchant ships including off the British coast. The Navy transported American diplomats abroad and could be attacked as demonstrated on the John Adams miniseries. Departing from Wilmington NC during the war would be very hazardous.

That line had me rolling my eyes. Amazingly clairvoyant of Rachel that the Continental Army would winter at Valley Forge almost two months later! She wouldn't even know the name of this small place. The army would only stay there from 12/77 to 6/78, and although there would be a desperate need for doctors and medical treatment in the early months, not much need in the spring months except for treating the officers for STDs. I confess that I'm a major Revolutionary War nerd, and I'm very disappointed with the lackluster coverage after all the war buildup. I was puzzled that Jamie was ordered from North Carolina to Vermont when there was the need for soldiers for the fighting in Pennsylvania. However, they had to find a way to get him back to Scotland. After the defeat at Saratoga, commander Gen. Burgoyne and all his officers were bound by the treaty to return to England and never fight Americans again. The enlisted men became POWs in response to the horrendous treatment of American prisoners in prison hulks. Therefore, William should be returning to England, and not romancing Rachel. Of course, anything in possible in the Outlander universe. I've thought of some historical possibilities that I might resurrect in the speculations topic.

And if Mayim Bialik's hosting, she'll correct them on their pronunication. It's one of the reasons I dislike her as host

I've always thought that was a perfect name for a kitty. I was a fan of the original Poldark, and the only Ross Poldark for me will always be Robin Ellis. I'll aways remember the first season when it followed the last season of Upstairs/Downstairs. I believe it was 26 straight weeks of must-see TV in those non-VCR days, although my PBS station had 3-4 repeats during the week. It wasn't interrupted with pledge drives either! Some years back I got my hands on the original series, but except for the first episode, a few key scenes, I just couldn't go through the storyline rigmarole again.

The Other Duggars: The Lost Girls and Amy

I know the feeling, that's why I didn't answer immediately as I wasn't certain about the person's name, and didn't want to research the initial info again. 😄 -

With the bad haircut, thinning hair along with all the gray in his beard, he looks like a pushing 50 rad homie. -
Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
sagittarius sue replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
I came across this headline when I received my Washington Post email this morning. "Judge blocks Ark. law banning librarians from giving minors ‘harmful’ books" I wasn't surprised to see that the judge was Timothy Brooks, the judge in Josh's trial. Good going, Judge Brooks! -
With all the Stimulus money the Rods received, and the importance they place on preaching, praising, grifting, they should've thought of spending some on a newer used RV instead of all on their Amish-built remodeling. That new staircase severely injured Jill's knee. Perhaps God was trying to tell her she did wrong? 🤣

He's demonstrating that he's different from those fundie males with their untidy, overly long pants. -
And always having to mention boy mama.

The Hunk probably fully appreciates the unlimited soup and breadsticks. After my cousins group decided to try other restaurants (yay!), I've noticed that their lunch specials are cheaper than most restaurants, although many of their menu items are considerably more expensive. Those mushrooms with your entree look good.

What an awful situation. That reminds me of the situations with many 600 # Life shows. Families enable people into overeating, people develop food addiction, start losing their mobility until some are bedridden, and develop serious health problems. I'm sorry you have to deal with that in your family.
