  1. I seem to recall Vikings showed Ivar the Boneless playing chess with the future Alfred the Great in the 9th C. Of course historical accuracy wasn't a big thing with Vikings.
  2. One gets that feeling with how they sometimes shoot Whitney Thore on MBFFL. 😆
  3. Earlier today I read an article about how COVID cases might be more wide-spread than we might think. https://www.aol.com/news/seems-everyone-covid-19-why-114106195.html Stay safe everyone!
  4. Not just any settlement. I've always remembered (particularly after visiting there) that after getting off the Mayflower, half the population of Plymouth perished that first winter. A very interesting twist on the story!
  5. Ugh, 23 and expecting her third child. It looks like she's on a baby every 1.5 years so that could mean 7 kids by age 30. 😒
  6. I don't think the Duggars have been featured speakers at IBLP affairs for the past two years.
  7. Poor kids! If they want to do religion they should be singing "Jesus loves me" and "Jesus loves the little children." When I went to VBS when young I remember coloring in a Biblical coloring book, not doing sermons on sin.
  8. No, she should be down on her severely injured knee to pray, as she's often filmed her entire family on their knees.
  9. As Jill usually records in the wee hours of the night, one might assume there are several quiet places in the house except for DBD's snoring.
  10. Haiti is not a place where I'd like to cruise to. I imagine it has considerable security, but Haiti is currently a dangerous place with lots of crime. People get kidnapped there!
  11. In the Twin Cities we had a minor number retirement for Darryl Strawberry a couple weeks ago. He had a spectacular 29 game run with the St. Paul Saints in 1996 before returning to the majors. Here's a nice video where he talks about how he found baseball to be fun again. I'm sorry I couldn't "remove" the video's url from that ghastly page. https://kstp.com/minnesota-sports/darryl-strawberry-grateful-for-time-with-saints-and-pumped-to-have-jersey-retired-this-weekend/
  12. I've just realized what this finger-pointing reminds me of. When I was a child I had a Viewmaster with a "Christmas Carol" set of reels. The spectral Ghost of Christmas Future just pointed to dire scenes of the future without saying a word to Scrooge. That's what Jill's finger-pointing represents. 🤣
  13. Lucky you to see Roger in a play! I'd love to catch him in one. With Morse it seemed he became grumpier in later seasons, specifically 6-8. Just this week I caught the sad episode (6-1) with the fiancee of his university years and wondered if this was the beginning of this character development. It's also nice to see how clearly Lewis has become a very competent detective in the later seasons.
  14. My county library has it on order with 26 holds already. I checked up on Jinger's book, and it appears to be fairly popular. I think SHP has a lot to do with interest in these books.
  15. This is bit more than an indiscretion. I suspect Babs made it a condition of marriage that Glenn have no contact with the woman and child. She wanted his world to only be her and her children. Babs wouldn't have any problems with denying a foreign-born child a relationship with her father, and apparently Glenn didn't fight it. It isn't surprising Whitney is a narcissist; she's a chip off the old block. I would imagine that he felt duty-bound to reveal this to his children after Bab's death. Who knows, I could imagine Whitney seeing this as a new storyline in keeping this faltering series going.
  16. I was wondering over on Jill's topic about who was the midwife with Gideon's birth. I wondered if that difficult birth might possibly be the cause of his difficulties.
  17. In 2021 she screwed up the birth of her own grandchild. She let her daughter-in-law labor for 3-4 days, and the baby died 30 minutes after the birth due to breathing difficulties. I've been looking but haven't found the name of Joy's midwife who failed to notice Gideon's breech position, and only sent her to the hospital after 20 hours of labor. I've wondered if Gideon's problems might be related to his birth.
  18. That was some years ago with Christina and then husband Tarek El Moussa on Flip or Flop, and a viewer noticed a growth. It turned out to be thyroid cancer that was successfully treated.
  19. Speaking of the hell hound, I thought of him when I saw the recent video of the bike thief who was loved up by a golden in a garage. Definitely not a guard dog.
