  1. I didn't think sneakers were the right footwear for that outfit.
  2. JB probably thought that as his father was so sinful he was unworthy of respect while he is such a godly man he's entitled to complete obedience from his family.
  3. At least my Puritan ancestors chose Hebrew names from the Bible, not an entire sentence!
  4. I put it on Hold two weeks ago, and checking yesterday I'm 40th in the line of 78 holds for a single copy that hasn't arrived yet. I'm sure they'll probably order 3 or 4 more copies.
  5. I had a chuckle imagining confronting a squat toilet with an outfit like that. I remember them in northern Greece and Turkey, bracing my back against the wall with my pants and panties at my ankles. After that first time I wore a skirt in that area, and only had my panties at my ankles. I just can't go commando!
  6. I would think if JB was involved with possible tax fraud that would invalidate any NDAs.
  7. Argh, that reminds me of 5th and 6th grade when certain classmates called me SueBow. I absolutely hated it!
  8. I remember how my geometry class got a kick out of how our teacher pronounced it perpen-dic-a-ler. I wonder how Meech pronounces "nuclear?" I just remembered he used to say "figger" for figure. This was in New Jersey, and we wondered if he might've come from the South.
  9. As they're apparently thinking of weapons they would probably pronounce it correctly, and not bow as in bow-wow as most people initially do. It's a last name not a first name. It's my last name, and as a first name I take offense!
  10. Possibly Josh's conviction and Shiny Happy People.
  11. I remembering reading something about the parents becoming elderly, reality hitting them, and something had to be done about these unmarried daughters without some means of support. They had to become Christian teachers or wives.
  12. I don't think Twitney had to twist her father's arm on this. I think he's perfectly willing to appear on TV and earn some extra money too.
  13. Here's an interesting article about parent influencers who over-share information about their children. Illinois has a new law which requires parents to share income with their children, and laws are being proposed to regulate content re: juveniles. https://wapo.st/45E1ZzR
  14. I have seen suggestions for memorials for ---- or the family, but not just for the family. I was at a loss when I wrote my mother's obit so I just made for either the church or person's own choice of charity..
  15. A rather different obituary than I'm used to seeing. Most obits I read state "in lieu of flowers...", and usually suggest a memorial donation to a charity or non-profit. No, the Thores wanted flowers and money sent to them.
  16. Yes, a small hope that someone will rebel, break away, and maybe even engage a ghostwriter to blow up their ghastly little world.
  17. I too thought the belt buckle appeared more golden in color, but perhaps it was silver as I thought the feather was silver.
  18. My mother chose my bedroom set when I was about 11, and I don't think I would've chosen white French Provincial myself. I think it was a popular choice in the early 60s. I did appreciate having a double bed and nice dresser with a big mirror. It stood the test of time as my younger sister used it herself and for her daughters at least until at least 2000.
  19. It's a great city! Living in the Twin Cities, when I think of visiting the nearest truly big city it's Chicago. Great restaurants, museums, good public transit, and really interesting neighborhoods. I haven't been there in several years now so I'd like to go sometime soon.
  20. Frankly, I'm appalled that Joy has posted so much personal info on her children in a public forum!
  21. That's why I'm glad to say my state, Minnesota, is a bit different. Starting this school year, all kids are entitled to free breakfasts and lunches.
