Dax reminds me of Opie Taylor in this picture.  When the show first started.

I see some similarity, particularly with the hair color.  Here's a picture of Ron Howard before Opie when he was in The Music Man, probably at age 7.

My family "broken nose" story.  My grandfather was a school superintendent in a small town in Iowa.  He was a very strict and no-nonsense kind of guy, and was very strict with my dad and my uncle.  It was picture day at school for my uncle, and all the boys were to wear a white shirt.  On his way to school to be in this picture, my uncle came across some "buddy", and they got in a fight.  My uncle's nose was broken, and he bled all over his white shirt.  He went back home, where his mother cleaned him up, but he only had a blue shirt to wear.  My grandfather was furious with my uncle because he showed up in a blue shirt.  Never mind his nose was actually broken and smashed all over his face, and he was in pain.  He did not have the correct color shirt.  Some people just have no empathy if you don't follow the rules--that was my grandpa.  My uncle loved telling this story.

Calico Kitty, I'm curious if your grandpa had some German ancestry?  It sounds so German, "alles in Ordnung,"  everything in order, done correctly.  Years ago I would tease my mother about this preference of hers.

Betey Bee, I did the same thing to my mother.  No outside damage, but years later she had surgery for a deviated septum.

Yeah the names are not my style and the spellings are not my style either.

Maybe Mykelti is some kind of a prophet or something. Or a restaurant that sold good nachos.

Per Mykelti Williamson the name Mykelti is a boy's name meaning "silent friend".  He was given it by his half-Blackfoot Indian grandfather

  4. What a great sports day!  The D'backs won, the Rangers won, and contrary to their usual practice on Monday Night FB the Vikings beat the 49ers!

Commentators saying the Astros are "completely clear of the sign stealing scandal" while Altuve of all people is at the plate is an interesting take.

    Fuck that.

That reminds me I've been meaning to watch that Frontline episode from earlier this month, "The Astros Edge."  I only caught a couple minutes, but the coverage seemed critical of the fact that nothing happened to the players involved.   https://www.thirteen.org/programs/frontline/the-astros-edge-ky4pfl/

Interesting that my HBO/MAX does not offer the Class 57 series to me when I log in. I'll have to track it down in the lineup.

I found it on MAX, but I had to go through several categories before reaching Documentaries and then paging down to Popular Documentaries.  I suggest using the Search line for Popular Documentaries.

My question is how did Timbits cope with the woman in front of him in the family photo who is showing a lot of shoulder and leg?  He has famously said he is "curt" with women because he feels all of them are tempting him into sin.  Has he gotten over himself, or was he quietly seething and making sure Heidi knows that she is never to dress like that?

I remember awhile back there was speculation on Reddit that Timbit's pronouncements and videos might have been performance art for BME's benefits and maybe didn't reflect his true feelings.  Heidi's sister Hallie responded on IG that Tim was very sweet and seemed to be head-over-heels in love with Heidi.  Perhaps Jill's discipline didn't exactly break Tim.  I'm curious about how this relationship develops.

The more Jose Altuve that is on my screen, the more I long for his retirement.

I look away when he's on screen so I don't have to see his smirking face.

  9. Another consideration is that Houston is a much better road team than home team.  Their record was 39-42 home, 50-31 away.

Jill can run off with a diamond level plexus man! Dave wouldn’t even notice. Based on his crying/depressed love declaration he might be relieved to be single.

I could see him appreciating every minute during his break from Jill.  Living with her must be exhausting.

You could also take it as he "engaged" her in something else, if you get my drift. 🤣

Criminal conversation?  To use the centuries old legal term for having sex .🤣

Only 5 states issue it, and their location makes me think it is to accommodate travel to Canada, even though they say that it makes travel to Mexico and the
Caribbean easier.  It is for land and sea entry; they do not mention flying.

Yes, if one's flying to Canada one needs a passport.  We have Enhanced DL here in MN for driving across the border.

I wish I could tell her where to stick that finger!

It made me think that I would like to show her a different finger.

If anyone needs coats: old navy has them 50% off. I had a coupon so I got 4 coats for $100. Do I need 4 coats? No lol.

Thanks.  I'm OK with my cold weather parka, but I do need some new coats.  I guess tomorrow I'll gird my loins to take on Mall of America.  It's only 2.5 miles away, but I haven't shopped there in years.
