Yes, i found myself scratching my head and thinking, "are we supposed to know who this Rice guy is?" (Even after they said who he is/was.) and all in front of the big sign for the hotel bar. Hap's a slimebag, but DJ is really just a much better actor than most of the rest of the cast. I'm not getting even a sliver of a Sonny Crockett or Nash Bridges vibe off him.
