  1. I am still enjoying this show, although they need to figure out who they are and soon. I had the second episode on while I was in the kitchen and I knew it was the partner as soon as I heard him talking. I also immediately knew who the killer was last week. That's okay if that is what the show is going for, not a mystery "who dun it" but watching how our guy proves it. I am enjoying the sibling relationship. Why did he need a ride everywhere, what happened to his car? I wonder if this show could become a Murder She Wrote type show. I do love that JLM's character is not a jerk. I don't hate the ex-wife but the relationship is not necessary, they could just be colleagues. Hopefully it hits its stride soon.
  2. So sad about Michael Gambon. I really enjoyed him in Cranford and Wives and Daughters. So much talent, he'll be missed.
  3. Currently doing another re-watch, this one with mom, who never watched the show when it was airing. We're in season 7, Two Weeks Out was the episode we just finished. Took mom a while to warm up to the Santos/Vinick story, she just wanted to stay with the White House staff. We agreed that CJ was one of the dumbest choices for COS. CJ became COS and her communication style became, "do it because I said so, I'm the COS and you have to do whatever I say because I'm the COS". Neither of us ever warmed to Kate Harper mainly because she came along and the totally awesome Nancy McNally, who was her boss, disappeared. Now mom is just watching each remaining episode asking is this the one where Leo dies? But she really did come around on the campaign trail, so it wasn't all bad at the end.
  4. So I just caught The Birds last night and realized I had never seen it from the beginning before they get to Bodega Bay. It is such an inferior Hitchcock movie, in my opinion. The mystery of why the birds attack and stop is just frustrating. What was interesting is that Rod Taylor and Tippi Hedren were the same age, Jessica Tandy, in a rarity for Hollywood, was actually old enough to be Rod Taylor's mother and young enough to be Veronica Cartwright's mother. Rod Taylor was 19 years old than Veronica. it's a huge age gap but not an impossible one for siblings. Poor Suzanne Pleshette got the short end of the stick with this movie, she was great.
  5. I agree. I jump back in towards the end of season 6, (love those last two episodes) and enjoy most of season 7. There were only a few duds during season 7 in my opinion.
  6. I read the book and I am so looking forward to seeing this in theaters, but man if the book didn't have me rooting for Snow, that's just wrong. Cast looks strong.
  7. I agree with almost your entire post. I didn't find it too preachy but I did fail to see how this was one of the highest grossing movies for WB. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, and thought it was just a fun, silly, entertaining movie. But I did walk away a little disappointed. I was glad I waited to stream it rather than see it in theaters.

    Barbie (2023)

    I'm excited! Streaming Release Date
  9. Saw this on Max yesterday. It was entertaining but I was glad I didn't shell out any money to see in theaters. The best part, for me, was seeing Michael Keaton again as Batman. I loved hearing his theme music play and seeing his Batcave again. I liked seeing the multiverse with the different Superman and Batman, although it felt weird seeing Christopher Reeve like that. Not sure why, since some of the others are also dead, but it felt like a cheap shot. Some of the CGI was really bad in some spots, which was distracting. Ezra Miller was fine as Barry and the movie had some genuinely funny moments. But I would not call this the best superhero movie ever made etc. It was just okay, light entertainment for a Friday night.
  10. Andor took place before ANH so concerns for Mon Mothma are still valid. I personally would be devastated if we lost her in this series.
  11. I understand, it was a long shot. Can't go wrong with AB's films. Edited to add: Thanks to Google I found it, it's Dor from 2006!
  12. I don’t know who was in it, maybe early 2000’s
  13. Does anyone know an Indian movie where a woman’s husband is killed while on a trip and his family basically treats her like a slave. Then she becomes friends with a woman who is actually the wife of the man who killed the first woman’s husband. At the end the first woman has to try to escape her family, running for a train. It’s an older movie.
  14. I enjoyed this episode and the mini West Wing reunion (Charlie and Josh!). I loved how the kids act just like their parents in certain situations. I also liked seeing Kim and Bruce have a real conversation. They do have typical tv sibling interactions, but they are also shown to care about each other too. Hah, Lillian bought that Tupperware. It's nice for Dean to see that there's a future for him in college.
  15. Is it though 😉? Nope, not even Quark groveling is enough to move from the top of my most hated ST episode ever.
  16. I really loved this episode! You could tell everyone was having a blast. I also liked seeing SNW animated at the end of the episode. I know I watch way too much Marvel, but is it at all possible that this is not "our" Spock? Either this is another universe, so we can't know for sure what he will become, or he's been replaced by a shape shifting alien. Or will he himself suffer a trauma that erases his memories? I just want Spock/Christine to end.
  17. The absolute worst DS9 and I think Star Trek episode was "Move Along Home". It had the crew as pieces in a board game. I'll take Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow any day over that monstrosity.
  18. I love DS9, it remains my favorite, last rewatch I did included my mom and she really enjoyed seasons 1-6, I'll never get over Ezri Dax. I think my current second is Lower Decks, it's just so much fun. I don't purposely rewatch TNG, it's just always on and I might watch it as I know all those episodes by heart. Only seen a few episodes of TOS, but saw all the movies. My least favorite was probably Enterprise, until Discover showed up and took home that prize.
  19. I just finished binge watching season two and I enjoyed it, not as much as season one though. I found myself getting bored around episodes 11/12. I don't know how many episodes are in later seasons but I think 10 episodes and a reunion show is good enough. I didn't think I would be as happy with David winning as I was. When I realized the boat was coming for Larry, I actually cheered. I got emotional seeing David reunited with his daughter and again when he got home and told his other children that he had won. Of all the tap outs, I think I had the most respect for Larry, he just really was at the end of his rope, no scared of bears (real or imagined), no missing wife (Barbara), kids, no "I've done what I came to do and have nothing left to prove. He just really seemed broken and that he had nothing left. I wonder how MK would have done if she hadn't almost chopped her thumb off. I didn't love the reunion show but was glad we got something. I wished they had shown people finding out how many were left when they tapped out. On to season 3.
  20. Okay, thanks for this, I knew I was forgetting something. Looking forward to seeing him back in the family.
  21. Didn't Bruce re-enlist last season? I remember Dean sitting in the recruitment office on the floor trying to get Bruce out of it. What happened after that? Because if he's been living in the basement all this time, there's no excuse for him not to make an appearance. I guess the actor was too busy with Superman & Lois.
  22. So many great observations about this episodes, one of my favorite moments was La'an realizing Spock was having "feelings" about her. Her pat on the shoulder and getting out of there ASAP was hilarious. I had to wait for the credits to verify that it was Mia Kerschner portraying Amanda, she looked so different than she did on Discovery. But she was great, and I lover her interactions with Spock and telling him that it's hard for a human to love a Vulcan. I'm still not loving Spock/Chapel, especially after they made us like T'Pring so much. I'll miss her, if this is the last we see of her.
  23. I'm the same way, I get it through YouTubeTV and one of the reasons I didn't switch to another on-line service is because they didn't include TCM.
  24. I don't know how I stumbled upon this lovely show eight years too late, but I've just finished binge watching the 1st season and I'm hooked. I really enjoyed reading your comments from 8 years ago. That means Sam is 30 and his son is 7 or 8! Has there been any updates on these 1st season contestants, like a where are they now? I'm really looking forward to seeing how the show changes over the seasons and I wonder if the current season (10?) is anything like this amazing 1st season. On to season 2...
  25. I really enjoyed this episode. But, as has been mentioned, I don't understand Starfleet's rule against augments. Illyrians aren't human, are they? It can't be that Starfleet doesn't want to admit beings that are physically stronger than humans because that would keep out Vulcans, Klingons etc. You're part of a united federation of planets, how can you discriminate on how another planet lives? It's just such a frustrating law. I loved Yetide Badaki and hope they find a way to bring her back. Loved seeing the crew back together and Pike's awkward hug at the end.
