  1. I really loved this season of Castle Rock and hated to see it end. I hope we get a Season 3. I know the last 5 minutes or more were Annie's hallincuations. Joy was in the water for a long time. Annie drown Joy and hasn't able to revive her. Is this correct? I enjoyed the call back to the movie Misery where Annie is fascinated with the Misery Chastain books. I knew No. 1 fan saying would turn up eventually. Great season ! I look forward to the next installment of Castle Rock.
  2. I enjoyed the background information on the coven but I missed alot in this episode. I have never seen Salem's Lot, so alot of the Easter eggs in this episode went right by me. I recognized Shawshank, the numerous balloons tie into It, and the empty cage I knew had to do with Henry Deaver. It was good to see Bill Skaarsgsrd as The Angel. Others upthread seemed to know about Amity. I thought Christine was a person. Googled for a recap of this episode and discovered Christine is a vintage car. Who was the lady in the cloak at the end of the episode with The Angel and Amity? I missed Annie. She only had one short scene. I hope Rita lived. It wasn't made clear whether she lived or died in this episode.
  3. This was another really good episode. Annie taking Joy ruined three lives. Rita became an alcoholic and drug addict due to grief and worry. Annie always being on the run, never being able to settle down and find her laughing place, and not receiving proper medical care for her schizophrenia. Joy for being isolated, moving from place to place, and having to care for a mentally unstable mother. I hate that Rita is dead and never got to know her daughter. I know the story needs a subplot but I don't care about the vampires or whatever the creatures may be. Everytime they are on screen, I think " Hurry up! Get back to Annie and Joy." This season has been so good. I finally placed Rita. She was in Stephen King' s 11/22/63.
  4. I have been watching Castle Rock from the beginning. I am enjoying this season more than Season 1. This episode was my favorite so far. Did the teacher ever mention what 3 episodes Annie had that they wanted her to see a pyschologist? She appeared to be normal as a small child. She just got tired of being bullied and took up for herself. I thought Annie was raised in poverty but the family seemed to be middle class. Dad took Lithium. Mom was depressed and later suicidal so Annie didn't stand much of a chance. I know schizophrenia usually shows up in the teenage years. I assume her Mother trying to kill her and commiting suicide was her break from reality. Dad's death seemed an accident but she deliberately stabbed Rita. I didn't see it coming that Joy is really her half sister. Joy and Rita meeting should be interesting! I will echo what others have stated, I wish this show had more viewers. Hulu needs to advertise and promote this show. It's a real gem with an interesting and compelling story.
  5. I figured they would tie it all together by the end of the episode. I am not sure the season premiere was the time to introduce all these new characters. I kept saying all through the episode " Who are these people?" We have two new storylines in the present and Jack Jr.' s story is at least 20 odd years in the future. That's alot of characters for a hour episode. I bet we see less of the core characters. I loved seeing Tim Matheson! He looks great. So handsome.
  6. I really hope Savannah stays out another week with pneumonia. If Hoda can take 5 months maternity/ vacation leave, surely Savannah can take a week to recuperate. All the hosts have young children and Dylan is pregnant. I wouldn't want someone recently diagnosed with pneumonia to return to work so soon. They had a doctor on talking about how contagious you are and the precautions that need to be taken to not infect others. Savannah stay home!
  7. This is the last season. There are 20 episodes in all. Netflix drops 10 episodes at a time. There will be a Part 8 sometime in 2020. The Ranch came back later this year. It usually has a June and December premiere for new episodes.
  8. RIP Cole. I thought it was possible that Joshua Jackson might make an appearance or two this season. I guess not unless it's a flashback. I could care less about Whitney and her point of view. She was half the show this week. I am surprised that Anna Paquin took this role. She's an established actress and she has had less than 30 minutes of screen time so far. I am not sure why I am watching at this point. I am not invested in any of the current storylines. I am waiting for Joanie's storyline to advance. I am interested in whether or not she discovers that Alison was murdered.
  9. I have watched the first three episodes of Season 7. Debra Winger is out. She is not listed in the opening credits and the creators have changed the pictorial opening sequence. So far, the first three episodes have been depressing. Cole can't catch a break, Mary is a trainwreck, and I don't like the storyline that is occurring with Joanne. Why can't Beau and Joanne be happy? They are an older couple that are well suited and lucky to have found each other. Sam Elliot is great and I enjoy the scenes with him and Barry Corbin. It looks Heather will have a large role in the first 10 episodes. I will see the series through to the end but it's time to end it. Losing Rooster affected the show and I don't think Dax Shepard can take his place.
  10. This series should have ended last season. The loss of two of the four main characters has greatly affected the story being told. The writers had a conclusion to the series with the death of Allison. I'm not invested in Noah's movie or the fact that Helen is sleeping with the movie star a mere 3 months after Vic' s death. I agree that Helen' s mother is being unreasonable asking Helen to move back East. Sell the house and stay in California. The Joanie storyline is just shoehorned in at the end of each episode. Her storyline seems like a different series. I assume Janelle's time on the show has ended since she is no longer with Noah. I will see the series to it's finale but I really miss Cole. He was always my favorite character. And it doesn't hurt that Joshua Jackson looks good!
  11. @debbie311 I remember when Robin Roberts was out also for multiple treatments for cancer. It was her second bout with cancer. She was in isolation for months at a time after her initial treatments. There was a big write up about in People. When she came back, she was bone thin and it was obvious she had been deathly ill. Her GMA family was thrilled to see her because they probably knew how how ill she had been. There's no comparison between the two ladies. I wonder if Jenna will take an extended leave and what the celebration will be when she returns? Savannah has been out twice on maternity leave and Dylan once. I don't remember either of them receiving this kind of treatment.
  12. I haven't watched much of the Today show this summer. I have always liked Craig and agree with others that he should have gotten Hoda' s job. So Hoda's return was just too too much! Everyone went on and on about how much she was missed. Then we had a segment about her wonderful maternity leave/ vacation and how she is seeing everything through her children's eyes now. Escalators are just fascinating inventions!! Another segment had multiple celebrities welcoming her back and saying how much she was missed. Then Maria Shriver came on and talked about taking time off after a personal tragedy. It's really nice if you can but most employers have a set number of days for a family's members death. Mine was 5 days, then you are docked or use sick leave. I need to find another morning program to watch. These people are no longer relatable to everyday working people. They may never have been but it's really noticeable now.
  13. @topanga. If you can find North and South on eBay or through Amazon, it's worth the price. The mini series is a trilogy. The first and second installment feature Patrick as one of the main characters. You can skip the third installment. Patrick is only in the first hour or so because Patrick was filming and not available. The series has famous actors as guest stars. Jimmy Stewart, Gene Kelly, Kirstie Alley, Parker Stevens, David Odgen Stiers, Johnny Cash, George Stanford Brown, David Carradine, Leslie Anne Down, Morgan Fairchild, and Lee Horshley are a few that I remember. Excellent mini series that was pretty popular in the South.
  14. This documentary was extremely well done. I have heard that there is no love lost between Don Swayze and Lisa Niemi. I enjoyed the interviews with his multiple co stars. I adore Sam Elliot and figured that these two cowboys would get along well. I first saw Patrick Swayze in the North and South mini series. I also was surprised that it wasn't even mentioned. If you haven't seen the mini series, look it up. It's well worth seeing. Patrick Swayze was perfection as the Southern gentleman Orry Main. And he was girl pretty in the role!
  15. I was a couple of years older than Nancy in 1985. I got my first teaching job in 1984. I dressed very similar to Nancy. I wore dresses, pantyhose, and pumps that matched my dress. My hair is extremely thick and long. I had poufy bangs, ratted the top, and pulled the sides back with combs. The back was layered like a Christmas tree with curls. If the sides were not pulled back, I used a curling iron and feathered the sides back. Aqua Net hairspray was my friend. My hair was sprayed to death. All blouses were tucked into skirts with a coordinating belt. I also had many pairs of high waist yoked jeans with pleats like Millie wore in Episode 3. I haven't seen any shirtwaist dresses yet. I wore alot of those with matching pumps. I am currently watching Episode 4. In Texas, school always starts before Labor Day and ends before Memorial Day.
