  1. Without a doubt the best episode this year (not much comp) and one of the best episodes of the series. What happened? Someone behind the scenes stepped it up. This is why I loved the show. It was much more focused, not a jagged mess of screen jumps. Well acted and well directed. The dialogue was good. I was going to change the channel and it caught my attention.
  2. NO! Episode 3, a week from Sunday, is going to be the biggest battle in the history of Game of Thrones. There will be a lot of carnage. Besides the Night King, the Dragons and the entire Dead Army, we are going to lose not a few of our favorite characters. At this point I want to make something very clear to you all: I have no idea what really will happen, mine is just a guess. Guessing is allowed, lol. We all love the Dragons, no one more than I, however, to have peace I don't think we can have Dragons. Otherwise it's a dictatorship. We may have to break the wheel and get rid of the Iron Throne. as well.
  3. The Night King and the Dragons will all be dead by then and also all the White Walkers--Kill the Night King and they all perish. Cercei wont have to worry about them at all.
  4. The North has no confidence in Jon or Daenerys to lead. Jon disappoints again by backing down from leadership even though he was elected. Daenerys comes in with two dragons and a follow-me-or-burn attitude. No sales pitch, no plan, no humility. This is why neither one of the two belong on the Throne. This is why people hate on Daenerys. Tyrion and Verys have brains but don't look like kings or act like kings. So where are we? Who can lead? I have no idea. Were dealing with a lot of dummies. When Cersei found out the Night King and his army had dropped the wall and were on their way south, she said, "Good." She want's them to destroy all her enemies and then she'll clean up the mess. Not a bad idea if you can tell me how she dodges the Dead Army. Maybe she thinks she's not a target right now and she may be right. In many ways, I hate to say it, Cercei at least has a plan. Dany's Dragons are no match for the Night King and his death javelin, he already showed his Olympic acuity. Why shouldn't Cercei roll the dice?
  5. I did not watch tonight. I have given up on this season. It's trash. I have hope for next season and loved season 1. How this show got renewed I'll never know.
  6. The betting sites are a good indication of what the writers want us to believe. Bran being the favorite makes sense and I'm 100 percent sure he won't win...
  7. According to the betting sites, Sansa has a better chance at the Iron Throne than Daenerys and Petyr Baelish isn't far behind Deanerys either... https://www.bovada.lv/sports/entertainment
  8. Daenerys will become a White Walker, 100 percent. Jon will kill her as a necessary sacrifice (betrayal LOVE) and they will rule together--Fire and Ice. There will be peace and there will be Spring and the Seasons will go back to normal. The bummer is you can't have peace with nuclear Dragons but we should all be well prepared for Dragon Grief. I really hope I'm wrong and YES it's just a guess based on what GOT fed me in Dany's vision in Season 2 ep. 10 at the House of the Undying.
  9. There are a lot of great posts above from all you guys. I enjoyed reading them more than I enjoyed the actual episode. You are truly dedicated at trying to make sense of a very sloppy Season 2 of AG. I loved Season 1 and I'm looking forward to Season 3. This season is a deranged mess, sorry. I would rather watch the main characters in a discussion of what went wrong with Season 2. Very good actors with very horrible writing and direction--a real waste. How we ever earned a Season 3 is a story in itself. I'm sure Gaiman had to do some finagling. I'm still watching but it's painful. May as well just have all sex since it's no worse than all the incoherent and disjointed story lines. I'm watching the pieces of ten different jigsaw puzzles being forced together. Still, you guys here on this message board have done a great job of trying to make sense of it all. Your summaries and interpretations are the best thing AG has going, J.
  10. Could they come up with an episode worse than last week? YES! Wow!
  11. In case you were wondering: Rotten Tomatoes Ratings for the first three episodes of Season Two. House on the Rock 89% The Beguiling Man 78% Muninn 63% This makes sense to me. The dialogue in Ep. 3 Muninn was so poor not even Al Pacino could have made it work. This series will rebound next year in Season Three. You learn by your mistakes and AG is really learning a lot here in Season 2. We will try again next week, I'm sure Gaiman will try to get things on track.
  12. Oh no! I was hoping Gods would pick up here in episode 3. It was a scattered mess. I have been defending season 2 until tonight. I was bored and apathetic. I really didn't care about it. The pairing of Wednesday and Laura had a few moments, everything else was yuck. This show seems lost. I guess there are different people in charge with each episode, directors and writers. There will probably be a few good episodes but the continuity of the series is all but lost in season 2. The hope is that we get through this season and write it off as the forgettable season of Gods. Then, come back with a winning team for Season 3 and reestablish Gods as a top-rated show. I find it hard to believe the rest of this year's episodes could be as bad as tonight. Gaiman hinted at the second half of season 2 being strong. I didn't realize he was also saying the first half would suck, Looking back, now, it's exactly what he was implying. Oh well, I'll try again next week but my expectations are much, much lower.
  13. LOL!! Thanks for the reminder of that little gem of a story--made me smile. Since Gaiman is part of the series I am a lot more accepting of what gets used from the book. Gaiman is drawing from a book, one he would have written if he could go back in time. In that book he would have told the story of American Gods from Laura's perspective. BTW, I'm not making this up, lol. I got it from an interview of Gaiman about the past, present and future of American Gods. https://nerdist.com/article/neil-gaiman-interview-american-gods-season-2/. He never intended to give out any spoilers but there are a few tiny ones. For me, I don't regret reading the interview one bit. But it's up to you.
  14. Thank you! Pallas! I like your viewpoint. Leaving something open leaves a lot of room for interpretation and it could be different for every person. The mystery lives on throughout the series. I do get the feeling the Mad Sweeney is in love with Laura and he is haunted by the similarities of Essie and her. But that's just my interpretation. What works for me may not work for others. I'm really glad you didn't say yes or no to my question. I believe there are a lot of people who would have tried to answer it definitively.
