  1. Add me to the long list of people who are glad that Bhanu is gone. Now maybe we'll get a chance to meet some of the other players. I will say though, at one point, I was seriously wondering if Bhanu's total lack of self awareness and gameplay was an act? How could ANYONE, much less a Survivor superfan, not know that you shouldn't spill the tea to other teams, and especially then to come back and admit it all to your own teammates (who you were already on the outs with)?!?! When Q was giving him the lesson on how to respond to questions at tribal, I was thinking, "Nobody can be this dumb". And the constant meltdowns and catch phrases ("I'm playing for a million hearts") GAHHHH!!! I wonder what his partner thinks as he watches this all back. What a total tool! Did I mention that I'm glad he's gone?
  2. I've seen this style quite often lately on other shows. It seems to be the trend for beautiful black women. It wasn't just Comcast. I stream thru FUBO, and it wasn't showing up under Season 10 either. I searched down thru other seasons because I've had this happen before, and luckily found it listed under Season 5 as well. As for the twist... I didn't think it was fair that the judges commented on one of the bakers' (sorry, can't recall names yet) cakes that elderflower and almond don't really go together. Excuse me, BOTH of those flavors were assigned and required. She did not choose either of them, and she, herself even commented that they did not pair well together, but she did the best she could. This is why I don't like the twists. There seems to always be one or two bakers who it affects more adversely than the others, making it extremely unfair. Regardless, this definitely seems to be an advanced batch of bakers, all who have mad baking skills. I'm really looking forward to watching the rest of the season!
  3. Lila really came around the past few episodes, and I think she deserved the win. Disappointed and surprised that Levi didn't make the finale, but he definitely had a very bad semi-final bake. I really loved Oscar. He seems like such a well-mannered and all-around great kid. Loved when he cried when Elsie was eliminated, and he seemed genuinely happy for Lila when she won. Wouldn't mind seeing any of the final 5 in another season. They all seemed like good kids who could definitely bake.
  4. I noticed in the video clips of her from home, she didn't have her hair pulled up in a bow. I'm assuming it's the "persona" that either her parents or the producers are trying to portray. I agree, it looks ridiculous!!
  5. This!!! I couldn't help but notice all the bling he and his wife were wearing, and I'm thinking that would have paid a couple months' rent!!
  6. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... I get really tired of all the "back story" we are forced to watch for every contestant. Obviously, if they've taken the time and money to go film in a contestant's hometown, we know they're likely "going to Hollywood". All of these reality shows do it anymore. Everyone has to have a sad sob story to make the cut. Why can't we just hear their auditions without all the extra filler?
  7. I agree that her baked items seemed to taste better, and be better baked than the other two girls'. However, if she didn't complete the challenge as instructed, then I feel she should have been the one sent home. When they announced that Madison was going home, I said, "If I were Madison's parents, I'd be mad. She just lost out to someone who didn't meet the challenge instructions." I do think Elsie is a more likeable character, so I'm not sorry that she's going to be around for at least another week. The "cat girl" can be gone any time now. For some reason, she annoys me! But I will admit she seems to be a pretty good baker, and is very creative.
  8. I'm not so sure about that. The current jury seemed pretty happy to see Dee wearing the immunity necklace as they walked into tribal.
  9. I felt the judging was very hypocritical this episode. The judges praised Kevin's "abstract" look, as he just put chunks of toffee around the outside of his roll. But other bakers who did the same thing, the judges told them it looked "rushed", "unplanned", and "messy".
  10. I was wondering that myself!!! I even rewound to watch it again to see if I was missing something. There have been several times this season where I wondered how it was possible that Matt could have "heard" what was going on, because there was no way he could have read the person's lips.
  11. OMG Yes!!! And not just at TC. The entire episode has so much background "music" and noise, I cannot hear the conversations most of the time. And my husband is hard of hearing, so it's especially tough for him. I just don't get why they think that enhances the show in any way!
  12. Yeah, that's what had me confused too. Why did he even need to tell Cirie? Worst case scenario, Matt and Bowie vote for Blue, Cirie and Felicia vote for America, and then Jag gets the tiebreaking vote. Oh wait... I forgot.... he doesn't want "blood on his hands". UGH!!
  13. 100% Agree about the gore! I get the "melting skull" aspect of this week's Killer Challenge, but to completely douse an otherwise delicious-looking dessert with an artificial fruity syrup is disgusting. I don't know how they could actually taste some of the desserts under all that liquid sugar! This show seems to go more and more for the "shock and awe" or "WOW" factor, and less and less about actual taste. I'd rather see them bake a nice cake, pie or pastry with elaborate fall/Halloween decorations, than to watch them create some kind of art or science project, and then expect the judges to eat what lies underneath or inside of it!
  14. Yes, I was worried that the show was projecting a Liam & Yeremi elimination with all of their sappy close-ups this episode. I do really like them, but the show seems to concentrate on their backstory more than any other team's.
  15. THIS!!! I kept saying last night, "Why aren't they all wondering why Cirie is defending Jared to the bitter end?" I find it odd that they aren't questioning why she hitched her wagon to his with super-glue, and she won't even consider/discuss any other options. Do they all not see the undying commitment that Cirie and Jared seem to have for each other? Just the way she cackled as she read the Scaryverse transmission which announced that Jared and Cam were coming back into the house. It was like she was throwing it in the faces of the rest of the house that their plan didn't work. That, in and of itself, should tell them something.
  16. All I kept thinking (before he dropped out) was, "Are the judges really going to eat the cake that he's prepared whilst hacking, snotting, and sweating all over it?" There's no way I would have! UGH!! 🤢
  17. This whole episode was a dumpster fire... From America "grooming" Cory into the man she wishes he would be, to the colorful fart challenge. And, once again we hardly got to see Meme or Bowie Jane. It's 100% the Cirie show, with a side of Jared. It was old by the first episode of the season, and now it's bordering on true disgust!
  18. I was curious about the fact that he tested positive on Day #2. Which means that he would have been contagious prior to being dropped off at his location. And, although they didn't show it on this series, other seasons of Alone have shown that the contestants are all together at a "base camp" for training, rules, camera lessons, etc. prior to being sent out to their respective locations. So, wouldn't that have made them worried that the entire cast may have been exposed? Wonder if they let the other contestants know, or increased their testing/medical checks on the others after his positive test? Poor kid looked miserable riding in that extraction boat. I hope he gets another shot if there's another season.
  19. I agree. And I was concerned about Matt being able to hear/understand. I'd still like to learn how they are helping him to hear instructions, rules, etc. (if they are).
  20. It was extremely odd that they showed Luke going into the diary room, and then the same diary room door opens back up and Reilly comes out with a note. Very poor editing...
  21. Boring episode, setting up to likely be an entire boring season... I agree, too much Cirie! It's one thing to put her in the house. It's another thing to shove her down the viewers' throats via 3/4 of the talking head segments. Good grief, there are 16 other people in the game. Some of them we have barely met yet! Thought it was strange that Reilly didn't at least pretend to stick with her first alliance (Phalanx 5 ?!?!?), by keeping someone besides Kirsten (an alliance mate) on the block. I realize that others in the house got in her ear about Kirsten playing too hard (blah, blah, blah), but an alliance is an alliance. She just proved to the others that she didn't take the alliance seriously and she can't be trusted.
  22. Not to mention that the voting starts each week BEFORE the contestants even perform! It's a popularity contest at best, and an outright fraud at worst. (I still find it hard to believe some of the results, so I question production interference with the "voting".)
  23. Judges to Iam: "You know who you are, and you don't waiver. Good for you for staying true to yourself." Judges to literally every other contestant on the show ever: "You're too one-dimensional. You need to expand your repertoire. Broaden your horizon." Iam definitely doesn't deserve to win, but based upon the response of the crowd and the voting each week, he will. Unfortunately, he'll be one of those winners that will fade into the sunset 15 minutes after the finale airs.
  24. I personally know of two (one from my hometown, and another who is an extended family member), who made it to Hollywood in the past couple of years, but never were shown on TV. Both are excellent singers who, at the very least, deserved a minute of airtime. Sad that they got their hopes and dreams built up, just to be quashed because they didn't fit the storyline that AI was trying to sell at the time.
  25. Did Danny fart during the Immunity Challenge? I had to rewind and watch it a couple more times to try to figure out what had happened. It was a very odd sequence: Danny: "Jeff" Jeff: "Danny" (Everyone laughing hysterically)
