My husband's cousin used to live in Parowan and we were passing through the area so he - good sport that he is - agreed we could stay at the B&B just out of curiosity. The most physically exhausting thing we did was to walk down to the town cemetery and find the grave of his cousin.
What was your opinion of the inn??

After listening to Mr. Dilt’s interview on The Brothers Random podcast where Kody’s brother referred to him as the most interesting person in any room (or some such) then watching this episode, all I can see is a con artist. A spiritual con artist. The Pop Psychologist already outed Mr. Dilts on that fear/self delusion/anger mistake, and I feel like Nathan has gotten away with that sort of thing a lot with these folks.
I think even less of Kody after meeting his best friend - and of course that’s saying something.-

How badly did Nathan and Rebekah Dilts treat their sister wife for her to not only leave Nathan, but to cut off ties with her childhood friend?
In my opinion this feller just made Christine and Janelle’s (and even Meri’s) points for them.

I wondered the same! Because she’s usually telling us how uninvolved she is. I think when she says “family”, she just means “show”.

Hear me out. Because this has gotten to be such a farce of contradictions, I’m beginning to wonder if this family as a whole dropped their faith in polygamy and they are now attempting to expose the faith through these plots and scenes. Because for me that is all I see - an expose. I believe there might be some truth to the infighting because Kody did abandon his children after the divorces, but even then there are so many inconsistencies and contradictions that I’ve come back full circle to the belief that they’re all lying (kids included) and it’s on purpose for a common goal. Maybe that goal is to keep the show going for the money and opportunities available for all involved rather than philanthropic purposes, but it’s evident something besides the truth is at play here.

I feel like this hAs to be a lie on Janelle’s part. I mean, we all know she could go into a family tomorrow. Her excuse sort of reminds me of when Robyn was lying about all that new wife stuff. Shady.-

I’m wondering if the Brown’s divided their TLC money by how much screen time each cast member received instead of by 5. Or maybe Kody just received more time because he used to be the focus of the show.
So I don’t think Meri wants to be Kody’s real wife again, she would just like to be a pretEND wife like the others. Playing that role may ensure her place on the show isn’t jeopardized, especially if Kody and Robyn were at one time calling all the shots and holding expulsion over the “wives” heads. Or maybe that role of pretend wife just affords more leverage for $, more screen time for exposure, or even more honor with fans. Christine (and Janelle) were probably threatened in some way with being cut as far as screen time and $ and they decided eventually to fight back, discovering that they had all the support they needed.
I said all this to say I don’t believe Meri cheated on Kody all those years ago. I think she was a free woman - scamming viewers that she was still a wife - and that any attention she wants from Kody is purely business. I think her whining about it on the show is an attempt to shame him into getting her. Not that I blame her, but…-

I meant to say that the family is given an additional yearly amount for a big party or trip according to one of the Patreon girls. I was wondering if TLC made them split thAt money now.

This makes me wonder if TLC had to split the yearly party/event money the family received along with the agreement to film. Maybe that’s why Kody is particularly angry about all parties splitting up and dividing by four. I say four because Kody & Robyn share funds.

Filming began at some point in 2009. Meri's hair was longer in only a few scenes and (if memory serves) none of the couch interviews. They filmed celebrating Robyn's birthday (October) and in that scene, Meri had longer hair.
I believe there was a slight mention that it was filming that made the courtship go on because they wanted the planning etc to be filmed, but I don't think they came right out and stated that.
I have always thought that Meri's miscarriage was possibly the reason that they said their relationship had been rocky "before Robyn". Sadly even after Christine had a miscarriage and mentioned also had life threatening hemorrhaging, Kody still pressured Aspyn to pressure Christine to try again, looking at the dates he probably did it quickly after the miscarriage. He tried to convince the world that it was all up to the women, yet he also admitted to pressuring Janelle for another after she had Gabe.
Is it possible that Kody and Robyn had a spiritual, private marriage well before the TLC wedding? Maybe that was the reason Robyn got her full rights in the rotation and the women then pretended to bicker over it for the show?

However, I do believe that Kootie will work til he drops, cause Robyn is gonna want college and nice weddings for ALL or her young'uns!!!

Is it possible Janelle already had an apartment in town during the season she was supposed to be living on CP? Maybe she just glamped out on CP on the nights she wanted to star gaze or meteor watch. Her explanation that she wanted to force Kody to do something on the land just doesn’t make sense. And Robyn went out of her way to lie about sittin around on CP in order to out Janelle as never being there.
Janelle has always wanted to travel in an RV and it looks like they just decided to use it as a storyline.-

It could be… in defence of the case you’re making here, we should probably mention the ridiculous and flimsy show reasons for the divorce and subsequent legal marriage to Robyn. They had to incorporate it somehow and Meri’s accidental catch of the catfish made the whole storyline even better!
Conjuring up a whole story surrounding the divorce and then the catfish, worked perfectly to keep the former 1st wife on board of the tlc-plygship. (Interesting story, and 4 wives probably sounded better than 3)
It would also further explain Leon’s rage and grief which seemed to stretch way beyond the original catfish situation: A Manhunting Meri meant that there really was no hope for a reconciliation of Leon’s parents. That must have been really difficult for Leon to accept. So, another addition to the storyline: a very disturbed parent-child relationship.
And the last thing I’d like to point out; the tv show divorce literally marked the moment where Kody and Meri went their separate ways. This is where it started, not in Flagstaff, and this is also the moment where Kody dropped all leniency, kindness, tact and patience toward Meri and became the cold-hearted bitch of a (ex)husband.Far fetched? Maybe, but reality shows are far fetched to begin with. And these are the Browns: The adults (parents) are notorious for their idiotic decisions or strange reasoning. Not saying it really happened like you suggested, but I’m definitely willing to give your new take on the whole story a pass!
Good points. I think Mykelti just said her parent’s religious beliefs changed over the years.
But I’m assuming their need for the show to continue did not change. Wink wink

Meri was indeed a victim — but so are we the viewers. I have a strong suspicion that Kody and Meri’s divorce was a real one and Meri was just trying to find her own man while hiding the fact that she was legitimately single. Kody and the rest were complicit, so essentially the scammers got scammed. This is why I don’t feel too bad for Meri. I also think the children who are now spilling “tea” are keeping to that narrative. The scam continues.

Gwen’s statement about the OG wives not wanting to be petty about money doesn’t sound logical. There is something we’re not being told. Either Gwen is avoiding saying that Kody straight up helped himself to the communal pot or that Kody invested the money unwisely or that for some reason the OG wives had no hope of access because of Kody’s financial abuse. Gwen is glossing over what happened there way too glibly. Kody taking advantage in this way is particularly egregious when we consider that Kody and Robyn have been able to combine their TLC incomes, yet still preyed on the single wives’ (oxymoron, I know) TLC incomes.
There has to be something else at play here. I do believe Kody was financially abusive, but I also believe these marriages ended long ago leaving the OG wives free to move their money. So why didn’t they?
Janelle, it seems, was monitoring the family account but only found out at tax time what was happening with their collective money.
Gwen’s explanation about the wives being above pettiness makes me believe Gwen knows exactly what happened and is not allowed to say it, but can’t ignore the questions that keep arising. I also think Gwen and the other Brown children who are reporting on the family are sticking to the narrative that these marriages recently imploded. And if the marriages indeed ended longer ago than an audience would find comfortable, this would hamstring the flow of information and cause all the inconsistencies and contradictions in the Brown kiddo’s stories.-

I got the impression from Meri’s Friday show that Amos was scared away by outside forces. So it looks like, once again, these plural ladies get discarded and abandoned and then call it “leaving”. I just reread 50 Years of Polygamy and I’m seeing a pattern here. Man dumps woman, lets her hang out in that, then she says “leaving” was her choice, not the only option left. Maybe I’m jaded. But this seems more common than a woman actually waking up and saying, “None of this passes the smell test. Im leaving before I waste even more years in this mess”. IMHO
