  1. My oldest was "stuck" because she wanted to come out sideways, every time the doctor turned her she turned back to her side. So, they had to use forceps which my husband still refers to as salad spoons 25 years later. It was traumatic and damaging (I won't share details) but I went on to have three subsequent unmedicated and fairly easy deliveries after that.
  2. I am going to rewatch because that scene was all over the place. I actually asked my daughter if I missed where all the teens went. Thank you for the information about Heather Headley because I have been thinking she is my least favorite character only because her acting sometimes takes me out of the scenes. I even said it's "over the top" to my daughter and like she's not really connected to the rest of the people. But being stage trained makes a lot of sense and maybe she will be able to transition her presence more in the second season if we have a second season. I get Kyle was in a horrible tragic accident and everyone needs to run to their friend's side but Dana Sue needed to FINISH that conversation with her sous chef. Even if they didn't show us that outcome until next season. That kid is hurting/struggling as much as Kyle and should have been told that yes she's his mom or no he had the wrong woman. Clearly, this didn't happen because Dana Sue was at the accident scene. Also, that didn't ring true to me either. Unless it is a tiny town thing or they happened upon that scene by accident no one was taking the time to call the parents AT THE SCENE of a critical accident where they had to use the Jaws of Life to get the unconscious kid out of the car while the parents and their friends watched. I wanted to like this show but between the bad accents and the writing I am not sure I would watch another season unless my young adult daughter is still home from college (please no!) or because there is nothing better on Netflix, Hulu or Disney +.
  3. Do we know when they arrived in Canada? Maybe the 15 yrs includes the time when one of them was working late to build the business. When my husband opened his business, we had a lot of dinners without him. It could also include the time when Jung was starting to rebel and get in trouble, maybe he was out doing whatever and not coming home for family dinners?
  4. I am confused about this too. It seems that she may be eligible for the National Guard GI Bill but it depends on her service time. So many questions about why she has so much college debt. Maybe it was before her time in the Guard.
  5. When she said she went to Chicago for 6 months, I thought maybe that was for rehab. I think her family was/is still in Chicago and it was helpful to her to have them around while dealing with the drinking especially if it was just an outpatient program or AA. Having family around would certainly help keep you on track and accountable.
  6. I could read the thermostat on the wall, it was set at 70 degrees. I would be in a parka. 🙂
  7. Wasn't she in the military for a while? If so, your scenario would make total sense. But if her time in the military was after her time in college she should have been at least paying some of the debt down...except she feels that $200 in makeup is more important than paying her loans. That being said, she and Barnett can still work if she's willing to learn how to handle $ better. I came into my marriage with a lot of debt and an hourly job. Almost 30 years later we are largely debt free because I learned how to handle money better.
  8. This coach is amazing. I am sad that Lexi backslid into her old ways because she took the fall for a "friend". If they were real friends they wouldn't have let her ruin her future for them. I've seen in my own life with people I love how hard it is to break away from that life especially when you feel you don't deserve it. Gabi's parents creep me out and her family all seem to be using her to get ahead even her sister. But her dad is just the worst, so many red flags going off in my head with him. I hope someone opens her eyes before she is too old and too set in her ways to change the life they've basically taught her is normal. Morgan is the one whose parents divorced and when her dad remarried her stepmother didn't want her and her brother and banished them to a mobile home by themselves. While I am glad they had shelter and food, how horrible for a parent to do such a thing to a child/teen. I am glad the grandparents figured it out but they even said it took them too long to realize how bad things were. I think she wants to stay close to Monica because she's a mother figure to her. I hope Monica can help her move forward to become a self sufficient adult. Morgan is still young and may just need more time to grow. I loved Jerry's positive attitude and pray he does well at Louisville. Good for him getting an academic scholarship after being turned down previously for their cheer squad.
  9. The original was Cheerleader Nation, the new one was Cheerleader Generation. Sadly, they never showed the last couple of episodes.
  10. I felt like Roxy's mom was acting. She is losing her Cash Cow and resents it, the law suit is a way for them to make money. Of course, I was watching the other, British or Australian I can't remember (it's on Netflix),version of this so Roxy's parents on that version may be coloring my opinion of this one. I want to like this show but they are making it SO hard to like any of the main characters.
  11. I just figured for TV land it made sense to me that they were going to use all of the food before it spoiled. But that kitchen would have been DARK by the time the crowd showed up. We were in a restaurant that lost power but had just ordered, we got out food but people who hadn't placed their orders were told they could wait to see if the power came back or go somewhere else. They also were turning people away at the door and only dealing with the seated guests like us.
  12. A couple of months ago Dep. Stone (K9 Partner JR) of Pasco County was shot by a suspect in a domestic call. Quick thinking of his fellow officers saved his life. Pasco released the Body cam footage when he returned to work recently. Just a warning it's pretty intense. Here's an interview of his return to work recently.
  13. I never really like Emily either because as a girlfriend she did so many things that if she were the guy the whole plot point would have been different but she was given a pass by fans. I was very disappoint to see her character back but I am glad it's not as a romantic interest or not so far.
  14. The original episodes are on there now.
  15. Me too. Of course, I don't read all the gossip columns so I am just going by the reality shows and books I've read.
  16. I don't understand the Maya/Duffy kiss either unless it was just her reaction to him declaring his love for her. Maybe it was a reaction and they'll realize that there's no chemistry between them and move on. Duffy was crazy to break up with the teacher (can't remember her name), she genuinely liked him enough to read his 1,400 page book! Then even took a chance by giving him real and honest feedback, something none of his friends had done.
  17. Loving this show, it figures it's getting bad reviews.
  18. I think beignets from Cafe du Monde are about $5 for 3 of 4 that are much larger than NOLA Creations were selling. As soon as I heard them say $10 an order I thought they were crazy. I do think the prices on food trucks as a whole are inflated, we went to a "rally" at a couple of months ago, the truck I choose was chicken tenders and frozen fries. The tenders were some of I've ever eaten but were $14 for 3 tenders and frozen fries. I was trying to find an answer to the question as to whether Darrell Johnson was really affected by Katrina, it hits close to home for me, the idea someone would question them is kind of off-putting . I am trying not to take it personal because I know it's not. 🙂 I cannot find anything to confirm but one of the episodes showed a restaurant that certainly looked like it was post Katrina. Anyway, his latest gig seems to have been at a Mellow Mushroom in Macon, GA where he lives because his mom moved there after Katrina. My guess is he went to Shreveport thinking he'd go home when NOLA dried out then rebuild but followed mom instead. Rebuilding took AGES many people didn't return; the scars on the city are still there if you were familiar with it before Katrina you notice. They did state that they had "nothing to go home to" but I don't think they meant due to Katrina. I think it was in reference to the fact that all three of them quit their jobs to be on the show.
  19. This is JoJo's persona for her brand and it's made her a millionaire. My daughter googled her net worth the other night: est. 8 MILLION. I was never a fan of JoJo but her branding is good for the younger girls that are her target audience without all the skimpy shorts, sexualized outfits and overdone makeup.
  20. I think siblings sharing a room is a good thing but NOT 7 kids in one room. That's a bit much.
  21. I feel the need to defend Tessa. My sister and I were molested in elementary school. We shared a bed and a friend of my brothers took advantage of our trusting parents by harming us together in that bed. Over and over. We NEVER talked about it. EVER. One day a few years ago, I was talking about it and my sister was like "what are you talking about?". She had repressed the memory. She was confused and devastated as I recalled to her what was done to BOTH OF US. It took a while for her to come to terms with what happened to her and the fact that she had buried it somewhere deep inside herself. This is sometimes a self preserving action. Tessa may have repressed a painful memory because it was too difficult to handle; the brain does that to protect itself. Years of costly therapy have taught me a lot about this. It doesn't mean her recollection is made up, wrong or "dicey". Comments like this are why women are still keeping quiet about abuse.
  22. I am a Christian and agree with this sentiment 1,000 times over. I am NOT against using medical interventions if you have a fertility issue but it drives me batty when these same people don't acknowledge the fact that IF they hadn't their child(ren) might not be here because God hadn't answered that prayer without intervention. Don't even get me started on the ones who use medical intervention to GET pregnant then bash modern OB/GYN practices when it comes to giving birth because that's way OT.
  23. I think traditionally on this show they've been given enough time to complete the challenge before the bakers. For some reason that wasn't the case with this challenge, 2.5 hours was not enough time to complete a cake that "embodied" the characters they were given. Even the Little Bo Peep cake which was nice wasn't as well executed as we've seen these bakers do on previous episodes. The judges also commented that Forkie (is that right) wasn't dry enough and was cracking. That was due to TIME not skill. I wonder if someone in production made a mistake in the timing because as a whole this show like the British Baking Show has given proper time allowances for what they are asking the bakers to create. This is one of the things I enjoy about this show vs other American shows because we get to see well done completed creations.
  24. Our neighbor routinely washed clothes while she was out running errands. That is until her waterline for the washer burst causing thousands in damage to the house. Because the washer was upstairs the water damage was on both floors rather than just downstairs. They had to move out for 3 months because the floors and walls were so bad. My takeaway wasn't about having the washer upstairs just to not run the washer while I am away from the house.
