  1. up front apology to this being repost from another site-- but I've not seen anyone here say quite this: I have watched in ever increasing dismay and some occasional outrage as Jeff has increasingly 'played the game" himself in tribal councils. He outs and/or codifies strategy not necessarily known by all. He manufactures consent and shapes opinion with his positing, probing and insider knowledge. His line crossing has become more frequent and more egregious. This last example of not announcing the expiration date on an idol for the first time was way over-the-top. He became full fledged "player" by changing rules in midstream! Spencer, ardent student of the game was shocked at the 'new rules" of not announcing 'last idol play" as has been done consistently since the 1st idol i believe . ....Damnit Janet! I've never criticized Probst that heavily in the past and I think the alpha male thing gets a bit more than it's due-- but this stinks. course he is just a part of TPTB-- and ultimately he dances to their tune. Oh, and my cocktail-hour analysis of Woo's reason? = Woo was overwhelmed and afraid to confront a real tribal council-- so he retreated --- nobly as he could, to his memorized comfort zone of "code to live by."honor...etc'". This was the best decision Woo could make (most likely)- given his capacity. He seems fine and calm with it. It is a solid place for him to live. Those who might chastise him are putting their overlay--ie: they are projecting their value system and their capacities and their taste/flavor of conflict onto Woo's situation.
  2. Poor Woo. He's just not cut out for a game that includes strategy and deception. It--- (his speech and demeanor and simple decisions) were kinda funny at first but now that we know more -I don't want to run him down at all. It's like making fun of someone because they're short. He just doesn't have the capacity. That said- Spenser should have given him two things to help him carry out their plan: 1) Choice on who's name to write down. It helps him have ownership. and Tony is a very tough guy for someone like Woo to oppose -especially in a stressed environment like this. 2) A DAMN SCRIPT!! Spencer should have crafted a complete and believable message for Woo (listening/empathizing with Woo along the way to fine tune and personalize the story-help make it in Woo's words) Then should have practiced it over and over and roll-played questions from "Tony" or "Trish". After all that the outcome may have well been the same but at least you'd give yourself a fighting chance. Not a smart move on Spenser's part to send Woo back to the "slaughter of new jersey paranoid hyper cop scrutiny!"
  3. I think I caught a glimpse of a look from Trish as she got up from tribal council that said: "F#$@ing Tony-- I have been made a fool of one too many times! -- and in Southie that means you're gonna end up deep in the River Charles- with 1500 big stone idols tied to your legs!" i think Trish has had it with Tony and we'll see some moves from her.
  4. All the remaining teams are flawed. The cowboys are least flawed- race wise and personality wise. They have a few holes in their game. The Country Singers are pretty helpless on a fair amount of tasks. A bit spoiled maybe. Dave and Dad are a bit self centric, and passive aggressive. The afghan guys are way showy and can wear thin quickly. Brendan and Rachel are awful, just awful in so many ways. She is screechy and inane/doltish and selfish and abrasive and showy beyond measure. He is talented in some ways (math/science/more?) but regularly bothers a non helpful (non existent) god with their trivial lives and requests. And why on earth would he be with her? I know casting loves polarizing folks like rachel. ugh man! i'm gonna build a show that features better adjusted people. I'm ok with anyone but them......
  5. Morgan certainly has a 98th percentile body, but if you look at her face closely, she's not real pretty, and will not age very well. And she's been socialized to value and count on her looks to get favor(s) and breaks in life. I've known a few like her- flashy looks and no redeeming intelligence or compassion/teamwork. Unless they con someone into supporting them they have a real surprise in for themselves as they age. To be fair, i've known more stunning women than Morgan who are real, hard workers, and caring of others. Her best strategy is to cash in pretty soon (next 5-7 years) and secure her future ....with servants to do her bidding. Kass does not care about winning the game. she cares about having (mildly diabolical) fun - which for her is 'mixing-it-up!'
  6. i'm replying in the latest show forum-- but my question really applies to all the episodes so far-- why don't the folks make some shoes/sandals??? Now- i remember 'shoes-of-sorts' near the end of S2 ep3 i think but I just don't get why that isn't a clear priority? With the usually ample cordage material, it seems it can't be that hard or too time consuming a task. And it would make so many rings easier/faster. traveling, hunting, gathering, injury prevention, stability, and comfort ! Somebody- maybe a survivalist- help me here?
  7. So both Sarah and KAss had blind spots. Sarah, cause she's not the sharpest tool in the shed, she doesn't really understand the game, and she has a big ego and needed to exert herself and faux control. KAss because she needed to be right. she was trying to prove how poorly Sarah's thinking/logic/loyalty was, and she needed to prove her fence sitting. She needed just to nod at Sarah and tell her whatever she want to hear. Sarah could not understand KAss's principled argument and the fact that she did not Diss her just because she did not agree with her. Then they both got personal about it. KAss's problem is not being able to get back to the 30.000 ft level to see the big picture. Also, Tasha, should have hustled Kass away and done some #KAassCounseling and talk her off her ledge. Tash loves this little sneaky conversations - right??
  8. So happy to find a new place to post and read after TWOP. Great fresh season with some interesting characters. And happily some of the whiney and unself aware (i'm looking' at you J'Tia! and David and Garrett) have made early exits. I'm ready for Tony to go any day -- but hope he doesn't move to my town to get work in our local PD. Go Spencer!
