  1. I'd choose Haruki Murakami and George Orwell. Excellent authors in their respective genres. Their analysis and understanding of world is deep and multilayered.
  2. I'm reading Murakami's After Dark. Relatively short read compared to Murakami's other works. I'm 85% through and have loved it thus far. There are many loose strings in the novel, and I'm hoping Murakami would tie them all in his unique way; the intricate ties that unravel more than it conceals. I've also started reading Mohsin Hamid's Exit West. Just a few pages through and it seems like a page-turner. There are already some subtle shots taken at the global and Western norms. Eagerly looking forward to reading the rest.
  3. Macbeth by William Shakespeare. After a lot of persuading from my significant other, I finally read this classic (not a big Shakespeare fan) and I found it to be a compelling read. The characters, the motifs, the blind ambition in Macbeth makes it a literary gem that everyone keeps raving about. I guess I was a little late to catch up on Macbeth...
  4. Surprisingly, I liked this film. I expected to be cliche, sappy love story but it turned out to be so much more. There was a genuine chemistry between the leads which is rare to find in romantic flicks these days.
  5. That's a fab trailer! Looks like a good family movie to watch this Thanksgiving 😛
  6. Dustin raising Dart at home was always going to be a disaster. I guess he never heard the phrase 'Curiosity kills the cat'.
  7. Few months ago, I decided to try Keto diet. Health and Nutrition have always been important to me. The sedentary life that I was living was the trigger to wake up from deep slumber and do something about getting back in shape. Being a vegetarian, it is slightly tougher to follow Keto diet. But I did my research and was determined to try it out. My diet consisted of a lot of broccoli, eggs, spinach, cottage cheese & avocado. But within, one week I started hating food and had completely lost my appetite. Nausea and weakness took over my body. This forced me to stop the diet. But even a week after I discontinued Keto, my appetite was still not normal. I consulted with a doctor and after running a few tests, I found that my liver has been damaged slightly due to the rigorous dieting. It took me almost 2-3 months to regain my health. I am just sharing my experience with Keto. I have nothing against Keto but I am certain that it is not for me. Our bodies react in different ways to different diets. Even though Keto can show amazing results, it can take a toll on your health sometimes.
  8. Many Lives Many Masters by Brian Weiss The Secret by Rhonda Bryne Psychology in Your Life Into The Wild
  9. I quite liked it. The ending was especially nice and made a lot of sense. Instead of enjoying the movie and moving on with life, people found a way to use the movie as a cheap trick to go viral on the internet. I am talking about the Bird Box challenge here. The level to which people can go for a few seconds of fame is just insane!
  10. It was a really unsatisfying end to an interesting series. It was like they completely forgot to show what really happened to "The Beacon". He didn't seem like a character who will just leave his community and followers and vanish into oblivion. The acting was top notch but I wish they had sustained the suspense till the very end.
  11. It is tough to single out who is the worst among the three - Bella, Edward, and Jacob from The Twilight series. I guess it is safe to say they make a horrible love triangle where I couldn't really root for any of them.
