  1. Has Meghan “I Will Say” McCain already been suggested? 😉
  2. Yes! 👏 The hypocrisy of adoring the Constitution yet being unwilling to consider the free speech and reasons behind kneeling is stupefying. Also, Meghan couldn’t spit it out any quicker that she disagrees with anyone when they stand with Kaepernick, and has so far been unwilling to have a thoughtful conversation about it. Calling it a “divisive issue” and drawing a line in the stand about your point of view isn’t furthering the conversation. There’s no listening, no acknowledgement of nuance/ complexity, no willingness to compromise. It’s so frustrating to watch and listen to.
  3. So it wasn’t Colin Quinn saying the joke that got her upset, it was Ana repeating it (hence the “what if I said that about Miami” nonsense today)? It 👏 was 👏 a 👏 joke. What is the back story with her and Ana?
  4. I actually agree with you. I suppose it was the tears in her eyes that seemed more related to grief. The lack of a sense of humor and the overblown personal offense has always been there.
  5. Yes, 100% agree with you completely, Alexis2291. Not everything is meant to be a slam against her- and truly, I don’t think her cohosts care if she ever gets pregnant or gets a pet either!
  6. I think Meghan’s reaction to the Arizona joke today was an indication of how much she’s still grieving. Arizona is her dad’s state in her mind, so knocking it felt to her like knocking her dad. You could tell because she inexplicably teared up. At first I was frustrated with her, like have a sense of humor and give it right back! Laugh! But it’s clear she’s not able to get there. I think she may need more time to grieve, but I think she’s never really been able to let things roll off her back and laugh with her cohosts.
  7. I secretly enjoy watching for the little moments...body language as they go to commercial, under the breath comments, etc. I loved Joy’s complete annoyance with Meghan’s comment to the effect of “the View isn’t a soft interview for politicians anymore!”. Joy quickly said “It never has been!” and nothing really came of it, conversation-wise, but it to me shows that Meghan believes that she (and Abby?) now give the show some clout and Joy has no time for that narrative.
  8. I watched her on WWHL and listened to her share on the after show (available online) about how much Joe Biden has helped her during her dad’s diagnosis and then through the grieving process. She shared how he could understand in ways that others couldn’t, since he was friends with her dad but had also lost his son to the same brain cancer. After sharing this beautiful story, she spoke of how she wouldn’t know what to do if he decides to run in 2020 because she wouldn’t be able to speak poorly of him on the View (“I’d have to quit or something.”). Hearing that response to such a beautiful story was beyond frustrating. Here’s a man who has walked beside you in your grief, presumably running against a man who trashed your father, and you couldn’t see past partisanship to support him? Do you idolize party over country that much?
