  1. She also mentioned that she already has an agent so she had nothing to gain by rocking the boat.
  2. IIRC she doesn't know they screwed her over. They turned off the firewall when she was posting so it was traced to her phone but she didn't know they did that (or something). That explains why she hasn't ratted them out so far, but if GG was legit linked to the gun thing and Police interviewed her, she'd almost certainly have to give them up. Also I can't believe the parents at this school would just let her walk away after she was outed as GG. They'd likely want to sue her for invading their kids' privacy or whatever, and then the truth would have to come out. People like this tend not to be very forgiving. At the school I went to, one mom tried to get another mom's racehorse trainer deported because the racehorse that mom owned beat the racehorse she owned in a race.
  3. So just to get this straight; The parents and teachers at this school are freaking out OMG SO MUCH about Gossip Girl that one of the 'rents hires Black Cube to come in and figure out who's behind it, the Idiot Teachers frame their friend and get her fired, Black Cube goes home - and then GG continues on but now the parents and faculty just admit defeat and let it continue? Did Black Cube at least give them a refund? I enjoyed Audrey and her mom screaming at each other. I grew up around some people like this and them screaming "Fuck you!" and "I hate you!" at each other in the heat of the moment was very... real. So much for Mr. I Don't Fuck My Students (And They Look Five Years Older Than Me). Zoya is so annoying and holier-than-thou and not interesting. I don't blame Monet for being mad at her messing up their setup. I don't think this show has a clue what to do with Z and J, they are all over the place and their relationship is so limp. It has zero conflict and, seemingly, nowhere to go that'll create any sort of interesting drama.
  4. The actor who plays Max looks older than the actor playing his dad. (The dad with the eye for couture, not the Scruff-cheater dad). Davis needs to stop wearing hats. That is all.
  5. For me it works precisely because it's being played for laughs since it's so completely off-the-wall ridiculous. Is it really that ridiculous though? Thinking about it, over the past decade we've seen how... crazy people have gotten on social media, digging up dirt, dogpiling each other, harassing each other, canceling each other, running scams etc. And as the show points out, these teachers are barely older than their students (to the point where Gevinson can play one of them even though she's younger than some of the actors playing the high schoolers. They are of an age to have grown up (at least in part) with this. (It was really stupid how clueless they were about social media when they are all 20-something at the oldest.) We've also seen that there seem to be an increasing number of teachers around who are dumb enough to do things like sleeping with students, getting caught and losing their families, careers and even going to jail over it. These days we're talking more Bad Teacher and less Good Morning Miss Dove. Put that together with these kids who as Julien put it "run this school" and spend all day torturing the staff and treating them like dirt - I could easily see a teacher doing what this bunch do given the chance. Not in a wacky group effort like in the show, but one who was sitting fuming alone at the injustice? Sure.
  6. This was pretty bad, but I may be in. It touches on interesting topics and themes but does so in such a hamfisted way that they don't amount to much. Some of the acting is atrocious, the dialog made me cringe and the attempt to recreate the quasi-theatrical way of speaking that Blair and Serena had in the original doesn't work at all here. But it piques my interest. A bit. My favorite thing; The Teachers; these kids are so mean to us and get us fired. We don't deserve to get fired. Also The Teachers; let's stalk our students and take semi-nude pics of a 14 year old girl, then post them on the internet. The teachers being GG would work much better if it wasn't played for laughs. Also, Christian, Carla and Polo from Elite season one called. They would like their MMF bisexual threesome storyline back. (Or maybe to join in this one.)
  7. Yes. This was actually kind of like a very fucked up episode of Friends called "The One Where Rachel Wakes Up Next To Dead Ross in Bangkok". I have NO IDEA how the FBI agents don't just arrest her now she's so obviously hiding something but what the hell, I'm in for a couple more episodes.
  8. I agree, I'm not sure killing Bazza off was the best thing to do. The relationship between the 3 of them is one of the best things about the show and the 2-way dynamic doesn't feel like it'll be as interesting. Maybe the actor wanted to leave.
  9. She really is. Having her and Bet as a double act makes the show catch fire because she gives Paloma Faith someone to play off of. The art student whose name I forget isn't cutting it for me. You need a character who is a match for Bet and she just isn't. I was hoping that that old couple who were her BDSM slaves in series 1 would be working in her S&M shop!
  10. Honor among thieves. If Ripper is scary enough to get people to fight to the death for a pardon from the Queen, he could most likely get them to do what they were told. Plus they could always tag and control them with explosive tracking collars or something since retro-futurist tech seems to exist in this universe. This ep was definitely an improvement on the last few. It still felt like a series of vignettes about the characters but slightly less so. Plus the asshole fashion designer and Patricia's makeover (particularly the hair) ware hilarious.
  11. Yeah, Ripper's plan was better. And... actually a plan. PeggyPeggyPeggyPeggy!!!!! I missed you! Peggy's deadpan "I called your work. They said you were on the run for murder." - Funniest. Line. Ever
  12. I feel like she got more interaction with other characters last season. Plus I liked her sister a lot so it didn't impinge quite so much.
  13. This show still looks amazing, still has great character moments and individual scenes but is still lacking. Also damn, I liked Bazza and he never even got a storyline 😞. Not sure how the Alfie/Daveboy relationship will work without him. I'm also wondering how much Covid affected production and if that's the reason Bet is stuck off in her own separate (boring) storyline. I know Paloma Faith was pregnant recently too.
  14. I am still really enjoying the characters, character moments and ambience but the actual storylines so far are majorly lacking this season.
  15. I am extremely bored and have nothing to watch. Has this gotten any better?
  16. Well crap. Just when I was so pleased to see the back of the supernatural stuff...
  17. She really did! That was Sandra, wasn't it? Was she supposed to be terrible and only on stage because she's Alfie's girlfriend? That doesn't really fit with the scene if so. And I don't remember her being a bad singer in S1. Maybe it was just an arrangement of the song that didn't quite work. Glad the show is back and in a second season. I liked; Less servile/more assy playing-both-sides Alfie. Pointing out to Aziz that Aziz has screwed him over in the past. Even though Harwood is EVOL, I love that this show keeps it ambiguous and doesn't have a Good Side and a Bad Side in this battle for control of England. Alfie ghosting the Queen and him and his mum playing the scene straight the whole way through. The sets - especially Alfie's new nightclub. This show looks AMAZING. The set/art design are incredible. No more ALeiStEr CrOwLeY supernatural stuff. Hated that. Alfie and his friends doing snarky banter Sandra - I'm so so so so sick of dead girlfriends/husbands/children/parents/yadda/yadda/yadda as motivation but I thought Esme was boring and annoying as all hell and was very pleased she got offed. Sandra has way more attitude and she feels like a much better match for Alfie. Salt's kinky wife/girlfriend and her lemon sauce. Bet. Paloma Faith really gets this show and how to play the part. I liked less; Not enough Bet (and no Peggy). This Salt dude - I see what they're going for but I've kinda seen it all done before and done better. This whole Civil War thing/gas superweapon (which I presume is what Stormcloud is based on the last scene). I think this show is strongest in the episodes where they explore and build this alt-sixties world. There have been a few things which I felt were out of place in that, and this whole whole civil war thing is one of them. It feels much more 1940s than 1960s. I'm kind of meh on that being the backdrop for the whole entire season (which seems to be the case). Still, pickin's are slim at the moment and this is a welcome return.
  18. Anything as long as it can be filmed on a very modest budget.
  19. Yeah..... so this is officially less Black Mirror and more Black Mold. I'm out.
  20. Can't say I'm surprised by the cancellation - I didn't even hear that the show was coming out until after the first 2 episodes aired and I'm now only learning it's canned 2 weeks after the announcement!
  21. I'm confused - FILE #3 is already available on t*rr*nts and has been for some time although that is definitely not where I got it from. 😑 It's probably the best episode so far - I won't spoil it but there is one plot device in it that I thought was very clever, but it's all still very... flat. Shea has no personality whatsoever and Roger Sterling's snark was so much better written in Mad Men.
  22. I feel like this show could be enormously fun and cool but it just... isn't. Slattery is always entertaining but it feels like he's just phoning in a Roger Stirling impersonation for a paycheck and Shea is just such a boring mass-produced-for-television FBI agent. Her weird team are much more interesting than she is even though so far they are more thumbnail sketches than actual characters. At least they're thumbnail sketches I haven't seen 100 times before. Also why is it always a quirky, mysterious older outsider dude sho has secrets with a younger female FBI agent? *Cough*TheBlacklist*Cough*. Oh, and why is filmed with all these muted colors? It looks like mud. Will stick with it for a bit though because there ain't much anything else to hold the attention right now.
  23. Chase is significantly prettier than Israel Broussard. First rule of Hollywood (and social media); the prettier you are, the more shit you can get away with. Twitter is the tenth level of Hades.
  24. I swear to God I have better/more important things to be doing with my life right now than posting multiple comments in the freaking Outer Banks thread but the multi-quote is playing up like crazy and it doesn't seem to lose everything if you want to quote one post from page 1 and one from page 2. Anyway, that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it. I really wish this too. It always happens in every show and there are other male characters outside the friend group she could date. Topper seems to be turning nice now, there's him! I mean, he did try to drown her one friend and participated in a golf club attack on her other friend, but people in this town seem to indulge in, embrace and forget about cartoonishly violent violence pretty casually and quickly so maybe that's OK. I wonder if she read The Glass Menagerie to get into character. I don't know what's going on in society at the moment, and God knows, I've met countless pretentious actors in my time (Pro tip; when actors corner you and try to get you to read the script they wrote and they mention that they wrote a part for themselves, you can usually tell which part it is by looking for the character who gets to emote the most and then turns out to be the most important person in the movie) but it really feels like people are losing any sense of proportion or irony when assessing things. There is a hilarious interview on YouTube with the late actor Nicky Henson who starred in the movie Psychomania! (1973) which is the only British movie about a posh young man who leads a hippy Hell's Angels gang and who discovers that his family worship a frog deity which can grant eternal life so he and his gang commit suicide and return to become an undead biker gang so they can terrorize their town forever by riding their motorbikes through supermarkets. In the interview he talks about how he read the script, thought it was terrible, decided to do it purely for the money, because he liked motorbikes and because he thought it was so stupid that nobody would ever see it and how ironic it is that he's being interviewed about it 40 years later. Now obviously Sarah can't exactly come out and say "I did this because it's a funny camp-fest and I got to hang out in the sun" but... seriously... Anyway. I'm going to choose once again to be happy that they all thought this because it really is what elevates this show. And I really do want another season! I have noticed that it seems to be sticking around in the NF Top Ten for a long time - longer than a lot of other shows.
  25. I find it moderately hilarious that he's even considered famous enough for people to bother #cancelling. But I guess people are really bored at this point and Twitter is still... Twitter. Oh, and that "male Debby Ryan" thing? I now cannot unsee this. Someone needs to cast them as brother and sister.
