  1. I'm binge watching the entire DVD set. What I noticed and what really upset me was that the family was so easy to forgive Barrows for what he did but condemned a maid for sleeping with a man out of wedlock and having a child. It was disturbing that Barrows couldn't help what he did but a women is expected to say "no" but a man is allowed to have desires. That still stands today.
  2. I remember that but damn, you're good for keeping that straight er, um, you know what I mean!
  3. It seemed like Criminal Minds Beyond Borders started to do this, just a little too late. One was a medical examiner, one spoke multiple languages and knew the nuisances of many cultures. They had the right idea, just too late.
  4. Love this! The show is a fairytale and completely unrealistic. People wouldn't get away with this if they worked at a grocery store , how are we supposed to believe that Garcia and Morgan would be allowed to act that way in the FBI?
  5. I suppose but what do they get out of it? Someone you don't know if you can trust? So they say they love you but how many other women are they writing to? It seems crazy to me. They can't contribute in any way. Yep, I'd rather be single. I don't need a man that much.
  6. I don't know if any of you will be interested in this or not but I thought I would post it just in case. If you are interested in jewelry and antiques from this time period ( and others pieces) , there is a show on AVC ( Americas Value Channel) on Mondays and Thursdays from 5-10pm. It's called Antiques and Estate Jewelry with Sue. You can also watch it at shopavc.com. It's channel 224 on DirecTV. She has a variety of period pieces if you are into that.
  7. Typical of the narcissistic personality to think they are smarter than everyone else, including the cops.
  8. Because the significant other usually does it. Statistics show it's usually someone close and that's why they have to rule out the spouse.
  9. She was a child when she lost her friend and treated like a suspect. I can imagine it's been very traumatic. Maybe it isn't the same as losing a daughter but she was only a child and treated very badly for years by the mom and I suspect the mom only played nice for the cameras. Had they not been doing the show, I doubt there would have been any "apology".
  10. And it turns out to be the creepy father-in-law.
  11. That's a mommy not a wife. I'd rather be single. Lol
  12. Maybe these women think they will be special enough that they won't be killed. I don't get it. Seems like they are lacking critical thinking skills but these days, many people are.
  13. Apparently women can't help themselves. This a-hole is getting love letters in prison. Why? After killing his pregnant wife and two small daughters, why would any woman give him the time of day let alone write him a letter. SMH
  14. And what kind of mom agrees to it? I have to think the mom was a mess before this guy was introduced into her life to even think this was a good idea. IMHO
  15. I very much agree with you. Did you know that the police now have access in some states to blood tests from newborn heel pricks? Parents have no idea that this blood has been stored and did not give consent. In most cases , for adults, the police must either have a search warrant or you must have committed a felony ( in some cases just been arrested). The law has not caught up to this dna technology and as Americans we still need to protect our privacy and that of those that cannot speak up even if it's solving cases and we have nothing to hide.
  16. I think it gives some insight into their family life though. Patsy fussed over JB so much and Burke saw that. He was still a child and needed his mom too but life was all about his sister and maybe that's why he lashed out at her.
  17. I have my DVD set to record new episodes. They have these labeled as new. The date was December 16, 2018 even though there was nothing new about it, no new updates or anything. This has happened a few times. I'm not sure why they are doing this.
  18. Another thing I thought of that may explain something is... isn't it strange that JB is named after her dad but Burke isn't? Doesn't this show maybe in his mind how his parents thought of her and why he lashed out at her? Edit: Dad has children from first marriage, one of them being a son named John Andrew. I guess naming another son "Jon" wouldn't work.
  19. She's a control freak. Patsy held the control , not Jon. Her son was not right and the more you are away from home, the less control you have. I suspect Patsy was worried something could happen because of Burke's violence. I suspect he may have molested JB and that's why she was having issues that the school brought up maybe even why she was wetting the bed. Maybe Patsy was very fearful for her image. Maybe she was worried about her kids if she died. I'm not making excuses. I think she felt all control slipping away.
  20. I also wonder if Burke injured JB severely, enough that she was unconscious and maybe Patsy walked in on it and panicked. In her mind maybe she started worrying about an investigation into their home life, Burke's previous behavior, her reputation would be ruined . What if this explains the garot? What if she or Jon finished JB off and set up the scene to protect Burke. I also think it's possible Burke had sexually abused JB and it's possible he has been molested by someone. Child molesters often repeat what is happening to them on other children or their siblings. It could explain his violent outbursts and why he reacted to JB. He wanted and needed his parents attention but she received it all.
  21. I haven't been a huge follower of this case but something has always bothered me about the mom. I saw an interview with her and JB dad. I cannot remember if it was a police interview or a media interview but the question was like this "Do you feel that the pageants had anything to do with JBs death?". The mom vehemently denied that they could have and right then I thought "how do you know that unless you killed your daughter or know who did?" So, I've always felt the mother knew something or was covering. I don't think this case will be fully investigated again until everyone that was involved before is dead. The crime scene was mishandled, the investigation was blundered and all of that would come out if it ever went to trial. It would make these people look worse than the cops at the OJ trial. It's not because they don't know, it's because they are protecting themselves.

  23. I agree! Keith is an excellent storyteller. His use of descriptive adjectives just pulls me in. I prefer him over Josh Manka-whatever and appreciate seeing new stories for a change. It makes me sad that they are at the expense of some families heartbreak though.
  24. My point being, the media shouldn't be reporting on it in these cases at all or they should do it in all cases. How many African American men rape and/ or murder white women, pimp them, traffic them? How many white men rape and or murder black women, pimp them , traffic them? How many African American men rape and/or murder African American women, pimp them, traffic them. What about other races? Why is it only important to report about white cops shooting African American men? If the media is going to report a victims race and a non convicted suspects when they are white, then why aren't they reporting this in all cases? White woman raped by Asian man. Black woman killed by black man. White woman killed by white woman. See what I'm saying? When two black men kill each other, it's not important to mention the color of their skin.Profiling comes in many forms. Insurance companies do it, doctors at the ER do. Just mention you have pain and they won't take you seriously. Profiling of any kind is wrong but it seems that only racial profiling is frowned upon. But I do appreciate that you spoke without insulting me. It's a touchy subject and I don't mean to hurt anyone.
