  1. Maybe it was just me, but I was really expecting a “mom ran over Lawrence” joke when Mike and the boys were making fun of Peggy.
  2. I wasn't sure if she was supposed to be telling the truth about her age or not. The actress is only 28 Ah! That makes sense! She fibbed because of his fib. I thought she looked good for that age! The joke went right over my head- LOL. You can never tell with this show! I was worried that two weeks off would hurt the ratings, but they seem to have held steady. Whew!
  3. Joey and Lawrence are now my favorite brother pairing! Excellent development for both characters, and for the first time since the first episode, I feel that we got a real sense of who Lawrence is. Loved the look Lawrence gave Joey when Joey was holding the COCKROACH because he was injured. I’d say both characters grew in this episode. Fav quotes ... Joey to Lawrence “... I’m trying to get you to grow a parables.” Fiona: “Murph! I’m going home!” and good for Lawrence for appreciating older women.
  4. It’s off for two weeks. I think this has to do with spring break. Most universities and high schools will be out one of the next two weeks. The next episode is entitled Wendi’s House.
  5. I was thinking that myself. It would have made more sense to start the episode in 1971 and move into 1972. Some of the events would have made more sense. On another note, until Andy was born all the kids had their own birthday month. I felt that was a bit odd- to well planned. On the other had, it explains a bit about Christmas. You have to buy all those gifts at once they are smaller. So Peggy made a big deal out of the birthdays. I’ll bet the kids got their one big gift then.
  6. This episode was better than last week’s, but I agree that it was -dull. And I did not know I’d say this - but I prefer Lawrence with his long hair (get him a better wig!). Though I think Lawrence would look nice with the shorter hair if it wasn’t combed back. I swear he looked younger than Joey. I felt so bad for Eddie at the start- what a horrible birthday! I loved the comment “ you’d think the Catholic Church would be more accepting if people in funny hats.” But the episode never really jelled for me. I have one big question/gripe. The dates. So the show takes place -sort of- at least it starts- in the summer of 1972. So... why was Lawrence still in seminary in June? And not there in July? Maybe they don’t get the entire summer off- but that confused me. Oh and Frank was in the room when Eddie called assistance to get Wendy’s number- but he knew nothing about her in the first episode and tattled to his parents on Eddie. Sometimes I think “ have the writers watched the older episodes?”
  7. He’s my favorite as well, but yea. We see him sitting at the dining table, sitting on the couch (watching tv with Eddie and the baby) sitting in chairs, sitting on his bed- boy sits a lot. He also leans a lot. He leans on dressers and kitchen counters. The only action we’ve seen is the basketball game- though it was nice when he ran after Pat. I’m thinking of starting a drinking game. Every time there is a scene where Lawrence is leaning, take one shot. Every time there is a scene in which Lawrence is sitting, take two shots. I’d never make it to the end if an episode. Any who- we need to see that there is more to him.
  8. I too wonder what Lawrence is doing. Other than sitting on the couch and playing with his hair (that cracked me up). The episodes skip around in time, like Christmas or Valentines (when Mike told the kids to fill up on water at school to save on the water bill). Of course it took some time - until Mailbox, before we knew what Eddie’s job was. But Lawrence has to be doing something. There is no way Mike would just let him sit around and not have a job. He’s always got a book (I’d love a Lawrence/William book discussion scene) so maybe he works in a library... or in a nursery with plants (kinda hippy).
  9. Now that I think on it, while I understand the development between Cecil and Mike, I was anticipating a conversation with Lawrence over leaving the seminary. I wish we’d seen the conversation between the former father and Lawrence. Or had a Mike / Lawrence moment because i don’t think Mike is completely over Lawrence’s decision - not after his snide remarks in Vietnam. Missed opportunity. And as much as I loved the scene with Mike praying with Cecil, I would have loved to see Lawrence in prayer with either his father or Cecil. Though he left the seminary Lawrence exhibits his spirituality- like in the Love List.
  10. Overall- this was the first episode I can say I didn’t really care for. There were highlights- Mike praying. That the new father had the keys all along - but Joey came off as very harsh - not the best depiction of him. I like the new father - I hope he becomes a regular.
  11. The panic in PAt’s voice when he yelled “mom’s run over Lawrence!” I actually thought it would be more serious (not that breaking your child’s foot is not serious).
  12. Since a few others have mentioned theirs- and they were all great- but my favorite line was “You did this on purpose.” And Lawrence was pouting like a kid - and they used young Lawrence and Eddie in the episode. I thought that was a nice touch.
  13. Agree. Lawrence’s reason for going was spot on. And Mike’s face when Lawrence told him he wasn’t going to make Mike proud- wow. I loved the Eddie/Dad conversation .... but I’m ready for another Lawrence talk, like in the pilot. Actually, after RUNNING HIM OVER I’m ready for a Peggy/Lawrence scene.
  14. Actually they switched the order and Vietnam comes first- or that’s what I’ve read on various sites. Shoot I hope it’s on! I’ve been looking forward to a new episode and can’t wait to see Vietnam because it’s a Lawrence/Eddie episode.
