  1. I really would love it if the housewives just disregarded Tre and her anger/bullshit/screeching.  For example:

Tre: "Why is your husband asking questions???"

Traci: "Hey Melissa, can you pass the ketchup?"

Tre: "Answer me, did I stutter!?!?  Why?  I don't go digging!!!!  But it's okay when you do it?  I don't like it, okay?  I don..."

Melissa: "You've got this, Jen, you are doing great! Go girl!!!!!"

Tre:. "Oh, okay, I see how it is, okay.  So this is how it is going to be, huh?"

Margaret: "Want a sprinkle cookie Teresa?  Oh hey, Jackie, are you and Evan free Saturday?  If not I will bring the reservation down to 10."

Tre: "I'm leaving, bye, I'm outta here.

Jennifer: "hey Dolores, my ride just left...."

Dolo:. I can drop you off.  Traci, where did your order from, this is a beautiful table and the food is delicious."

I would literally pay money to see this.

You can't argue with stupid.  But you can ignore and disregard it and go about your merry way.

  2. Mother of a 9 year old whose kid just figured out balancing on a bike at 8.  For some it takes a while and it wasn't for lack of trying - he just would always topple over.  He was also too cautious and like anything with wheels, if you are overly cautious, you are more likely to fall on your butt.  I have seen plenty of other kids in the same boat.

But in this case, watching that scene it seemed like the kid had never been on a bike at all.

Antonia strikes me as being in a phase where she wants to blend.  I.E. have the big party, without the entrance.  Go to school but don't cheer.  Don't stand out on any way.  Which makes sense when you consider that she just loved to a new high school.  Just blend in.  Unfortunately that goes against everything Melissa stands for.

I feel like somebody needs to sit down and tell Teresa that these big grandiose gestures, combined with rumors of past abuse and stories that don't quite add up, combined with threats of walking out so that she will "learn," combined with multiple "psycho exes" are one giant big red flag.  Maybe somebody should ask these exes how many scrolls and boat rides they enjoyed before things went south?

Tre so desperately wants her girls to be happy about this.  Gia is unconvinced.  Gabriella looks the same.

Where are they living if they sold their house and this one is being remodeled?  it doesn’t look like they are living there. it’s funny to realize the different meanings of not having any money. They are completely remodeling a house that cost a few bucks I’m sure. never mind that they are ruining it and it makes me see red, but they have a beach house beautiful cars crazy expensive clothes and they are remodeling a house while living elsewhere. To some people this is poor to me I would feel like a millionaire

I feel like the Gorgas are bouncing around quite a bit, actually.

They were living in a rental a few years ago, if you recall. I don't remember what it was for -- but it was when a still relatively young Antonia made that statement about she hated living in such a small house or some such thing.  I just don't remember why they weren't living in the original house at that time.  But then they were back in their original house after that.

Then they bought the new shore house.  They moved down there at the beginning of covid I think and around the same time the original house sold.

Then when they came back up they moved into their current rental, bought the Franklin Lakes property, sold their original beach house and then also put THIS current beach house on the market as well.

When people said "Why are you basically without a home yet own 3 homes all at once?  Melissa said they were ready for a change of pace and eyeing the Hamptons.  Which honestly makes zero sense to me unless it's purely for the social climbing aspect.  Getting out to the Hamptons from Franklin Lakes is not for the faint of heart during the summer months and Melissa has repeatedly said time and time again that she is a Jersey shore girl, it's where she grew up, its where her family is now, it's where she wants to be and she prefers bay front to ocean front.  Plus, let's be real.  They are NOT Hamptons people and they never will be.  They are Jersey shore through and through, and a very particular breed of Jersey Shore, not to be confused with the Cape May, Stone Harbor, Spring Lake Jersey Shore.

But back on topic. When that much movement is happening it seems like a big red flag to me about something shady going on, but what do I know.  I own one house.

Plus, that house and its view is amazing.

Oh no! I fucking feel rage when someone buys a classic old home & totally destroys it with Modern “updates” .   This news is disturbing. Too bad the Home wasn’t protected, if they aren’t on the historical register or whatever, then some philistine  is going to do whatever they want with it.

It's a problem all over northern NJ - bergen county - especially.  This is such a historic area that is now basically owned by the developers.  If it's not on the historic registers, it doesn't have a chance.  I wonder if the Franklin Lakes residents were upset about it?

Everybody wants the same model #1 white house with #6 dark floors and #3 gray paint.  Then they all decorate it with Jonathan Adler inspired modern decor (which truthfully I like as well - it's fun) or go to Z gallerie and get variations on the same chesterfield velvet sofa in either dark blue or dark gray.  Maybe emerald green if you are feeling especially adventurous.

I always wonder if the rest of the country thinks that "fist pumping" is really some collective statewide phenomenon. I used to have a shirt that said, "In NJ, we don't pump gas, we pump our fists." I had no idea that it was referencing that kind of fist-pumping; I truly thought it meant like an impatient old grumpy man would!

It is the unofficial Jersey White Boy Dance.  Fist pump with a fake overbite.  Heavy gold chain cross necklace recommended.

  6. Oh, man, I felt REALLY bad for Gabby last night.  Why would they do that to her?  She just looked so sad.  Why would they do that to her?  On second thought, why do any of the parents do this to their kids?  We didn't see little Alexis crying to her parents last year and them reassuring her that they were okay, we didn't have to see Jennifer assuring Gabby that she and her dad were okay.

And I might point out that it doesn't matter to a kid if the rumor is true or false, for them it is still upsetting to even hear your parents talked about in this way and to live through the aftermath.  Gabby is still a kid.  And a seemingly really thoughtful, sensitive, great kid at that.

Why do these women continue to butcher their appearance for this show?  They were all so naturally pretty and none of them look the same or as good.

Poor Jackie, she looks so unhealthy at this point in filming.  I wonder if any of the cast noticed the weight loss.  Yes, they all noticed the odd eating habits, and the rigid lifestyle, but did they notice how thin she had gotten?  Did anybody try and help I wonder?  Probably not....as I watch this show I become more and more convinced that these people don't spend much time together when the cameras aren't running or even like each other very much.

My god that party looked lame.  The setting was stunning, the setup was beautiful, but there was nobody there!  Remember when Melissa and Joe had their original shore house packed with all their trashy friends and sprayed whipped cream all over each other and in the pool?  Totally trashy (despite Melissa and her "we're fun and classy!" mantra), but at least there were people there.   This was summer 2021 -- you can't even blame the pandemic at this point, especially since this group doesn't really care.  In NJ last summer our rates were super low, people were vaxxed, I believe our mask mandates had eased a bit, etc, and people really were pretty comfortable in outdoor settings.  How was nobody there???  They do not know how to properly use that shore house.

Will somebody please teach Teresa about dressing for her body type and the lesson that just because it's trendy it doesn't mean you should wear it?

It got that distinction later.  A lot of people didn't see it until it was on home video or ran as reruns on basic cable. And now of course streaming.  It did absolutely change the television landscape.  It showed women having sex and enjoying it.  It was just a couple years before SATC debuted that an NBC exec wanted Friends Monica punished somehow for having sex.

It showed women having sex and enjoying it.  It showed women talking about sex frankly and sometimes crassly (funky spunk!!!), as they sometimes do and now cowering away from it. It showed women as active players in their love lives, not just characters that things happen to.  And then it went further and made the men the accessories - what a concept.  It showed the real relationships between women, the good, the bad, and the ugly and the candid (albeit dressed up in Prada and Manolos) realities.  Is it relatable for all?  Of course not.  But neither is any show, I'm not sure why this one had to be.

Interesting that you make the Monica comparison.  Not even a decade prior, Brenda Walsh WAS punished for having sex and enjoying it.  They gave her a pregnancy scare and broke her up with her boyfriend because god forbid a teenage girl have sex with her boyfriend without repercussions.  That was 1991.  7 years before SATC debuted.

  8. A question for somebody who understands Teresa's justifications for her actions -- because I know there are people out there who agree with her so I want to try and get the perspective.

How is Teresa sharing a "rumor" about Evan on camera last year, any different than anybody else sharing a "rumor" about Luis this year?  And how can Teresa justify getting upset about this "rumor" and conversations/questions when she thought it was completely ridiculous that Jackie was upset about the rumor last year.

As she said "if it's not true, what are you so upset about???"

The answer "he didn't sign up for this" doesn't fly because he did sign up for it.  There's a contract, he's filming, he's on the show.  If he didn't want to film, he wouldn't have to and we all know that so let's not hide behind that.

I might submit that to the reunion questions if I knew how that actually worked...I would love to see Andy actually call her to task on this stuff, he tends to ask the question and then rarely pursue it with her.

I am having some difficulty with the Jackie/Evan story line.

I don't like Jackie for some reason, and I am not sure what that is. I admire her for putting her eating disorder out there for the public and not hide it in shame, but then she was so upset about her kids knowing she doesn't eat that it drove her to tears. Get help. Professional help. Then tell us about your recovery and how to manage an eating disorder. For the sake of your children, it might be best not to publicly declare all of your personal issues  ON TV when you have young, impressionable,  concerned and worried children living in your home. I mostly feel bad for her daughter who must ingest this shit on the daily. I hope Jackie does not overflow her eating disorder and body issues on her daughter. It would be pretty hard not to.

I don't recall Evan being so overly lovey-dovey on camera before? All that sweetie/love/baby/honey shit and patting her hands. Is he trying to overdo it so that we KNOW how much he loves his wife? Is there something to hide? Does he indeed have a lady on the side?

I think part of the issue is that kids seem to know and observe more than perhaps children give them credit for.  Jackie's kids aren't 6 and 8 anymore (or whatever the age difference).  They are 10/11 and 12/13 or something like that and Jackie has probably only partially caught up with that. I don't fault her for that, I think that's fairly common.  But in the meantime, her older boys are probably learning about eating disorders in health class or some such thing and perhaps noting some odd behavior that they used not to notice, LIKE only eating the same foods.  Her daughter, growing up in a very image focused town, in the tween world where image starts to matter, is watching her very image focused mother *not* eat a slice of pizza ever, *not* eat ice cream ever, *not* eat anything but lettuce except 2 or 3 meals a week while the rest of the family does eat normally, and that stuff starts sticking around while her daughter's own body image is starting to cement itself.  I'm really glad Jackie is getting help because her impetus to do so seems to be for her kids, I just wish she had done it a couple of years earlier than this point.  I felt bad for Evan.  People with eating disorders put up a lot of walls, make a lot of excuses, brush off the concern.  When he said in his TH that he'd been concerned for a while but it was hard to address, my heart went out to him.  That must be really hard for him to observe, trying to help but ultimately not being able to.

As for their relationship, they have always seemed pretty solid to me, I don't buy for a moment that the affair b.s. was anything other than that - and producer driven at that.  They needed drama coming out of covid.

  10. Another Jersey girl here.  Avalon/stone Harbor for the win.  LBI if I can't get into Avalon or Stone Harbor.  Point Pleasant for the day trip.  And Cape May when I want the shore/country combo feeling.

And I used to live in Fells Point and my boyfriend at the time lived in Towson at one of the apt buildings off of york road.  We spent a lot of time at An Pointin Still when we were up his way and even more time listening to music at Berthas in Fells Point.  Oh I miss charm city.

And because i need to throw something housewives related in here I suppose, they totally could do a housewives of maryland horse country. There is some seriously catty stuff that goes on down there, in between the private school benefits.

"Melissa and Joe's story line is what exactly? Their new house is far from being built, their rental is a normal size home so no real estate porn there, the kids are normal, what about Envy, will we have a fashion show (again) this season?"

Speaking of no real estate porn, Dolores's house is pretty run of the mill for where she is.  Kathy and Rich also had a relatively average house when on the show, but their backyard setup was awesome.

  11. This whole "Luis didn't sign up for this, I'm in the public eye, he's not" thing is such bull.  I just can't tell if Teresa is buying what she's trying to sell.

Luis certainly did sign up for this.  In fact, Bravo literally has his signature on a contract as they do for every other person that comes by way of a Bravo camera.  No company, organization, anything in this country would film a life and create a tv show without that signature signing it all away for a paycheck.  We all saw how thirsty he was during that very first restaurant scene with Tre and even if his intentions towards Teresa are legitimate, that doesn't mean he's not as much of an opportunist as everybody else on this show.  If he didn't want to be on it, then he didn't have to.  Tre knows that more than anybody - her very own Gabriella didn't enjoy filming for a long time so they kept her off camera.

I got totally cringey vibes off of the idea of Audriana, Tre and Luis watching movies in bed together.  As a mother of a girl right around the same age, that's not happening with a boyfriend of a year.  They are not married, he is not her biological father, a year is just a blip of time and just no.  But maybe that's just me.  I wonder what Juicy thinks hearing that.  Or Gia who seems to have some reservations about the pace of this relationship.

Paterson Dolores is such a joke.  Yes she grew up on the streets of Paterson, yes she's tough, but she is also the daughter of law enforcement, she's not laying a finger on anybody and definitely not on camera.  And I really didn't like her misrepresentation of Jackie's comments about Bill. Dolores is not some innocent "nice girl of NJ" that she tries to make herself out to be, she stirs the pot and is just as manipulative as the restaurant, she just has it under this "nice girl" veneer that she tries to sell.  I actually rank her right up there with Margaret on the shit stirring, just less obviously so.

I hope that Jackie gets the support she needs.  Especially with 4 kids now well aware that something is off - that leaves an impression, particularly on a tween girl who is quickly entering into the shallow and not so nice world of teenage girl-dom in America.  I would love to see Jackie eventually move into the body positivity influencer movement.

  12. I don't know what kind of keggers Jackie and Evan went to in college, but never once did I go to a kegger in a restaurant with 12 people and mini lobster rolls.  Just pointing that out.

When did housewives carve out a formula where everybody hosts an "occasion" and then they go away once or twice and that is the season?  It is ultra organized and has lost some of the organic feeling of the earlier years.  I mean, do people really host a brunch to celebrate their new kitchen or whatever?  I am going to guess no, but places are clamping down on filming or some such thing so they come up with excuses.  Tre hosted party 1. Dolo hosted party 2.  Jackie hosted party 3.  I don't remember that formula from the early years.  We saw them out at restaurants, in bars, at events, etc.  Or maybe it was always that way but because nearly the entire early cast was friends and family so you saw them together casually wandering around with each other, not having some pre-planned coffee to specifically talk about the subject du jour.  These people don't interact a lot off camera and it is obvious.

That is a really good point. If SATC was not diverse enough who's fault was that? If the characters said things that make us cringe now (although I was cringing then.  Remember Ricky Martinville or whatever they said?) who's fault was that?  MPK and some of those writers wrote AJLT.  So what do they do?  They over correct and tell the audience if  you don't like it then you are the problem.

The show was groundbreaking at the time.  If it it wasn't diverse enough based on today's standards of diversity and today's rightful drive and desire to do better, okay, plenty of shows that were hits in the late 90s and early 00s lacked that diversity.  That's okay, they were created during a different time.  I don't see anybody redoing the Sopranos, or Friends, or Buffy, or The OC or anything else that was popular during that timeframe.

I went to an event in NYC after the original show wrapped, it was held downtown with the 4 ladies, MPK and DS and they talked in detail about the show and all it's successes and where they wanted to do more.  I don't remember a single person talking about how they wished they had been more diverse, on the contrary they were proud of the how they had pushed some boundries in the tv world.  Why can't it be a show that moved a needle instead of a show that missed the mark?

  14. I don't hate Che.  I hated the treatment of the character.  For one, Che wasn't funny.  Make them a high-profile activist/brash but thought-provoking inspirational speaker type who crossed over into the entertainment word.  That works.  But this "oh my god they are so funny!!!!" schtick that then translated into an un-funny podcast and all the other things we saw Che do that were wrapped up in this "funny" wrapping paper didn't work.  Round peg, square hole.  And just the slightest tweak on WHO Che was supposed to be would have helped the character immensely and felt less forced.  They still would have done plenty of unlikeable things, i.e. yelling at Carrie on the elevator, kitchen sex with Miranda, etc. but trying to  do that and force them into this "everybody loves them because they are so funny and falls all over themselves when Che walks in a room" thing turned me off to the character even more.  I absolutely loathe when people try and tell me how I'm supposed to feel about someone, especially when that someone does some really shitty things from the start.  Call me old fashioned, but yes first impressions matter and my first impression of Che was one big "not funny, not impressed, who they heck does this person think they are, nope, don't like you."

I think Miranda and her professor would have been more interesting.  2 straight women finding themselves suddenly attracted to each other and trying to figure out what that actually means has plenty of opportunity for exploration within this storyline, AND would have been a bit more digestible to the viewers.

My theory is that CN has a huge crush on SR and found a way to justify getting a little play in there.  "It's not real.  It's acting.  It's Miranda, she's a character."

  15. The only reason "the numbers are so high" on this trainwreck is because the entire world is hate-watching.

Please, HBO, cancel them and I can go back to thinking that Miranda is happy with Steve, Carrie and Big are happy with her black diamond ring, Samantha is happy having sex on the beach with a hot dane, and Charlotte is happy with screaming baby Rock.  I'll even acquiesce to the 2nd movie if you cancel this mess.

Joe Gorga is a big screaming baby. At the christening years ago he was screaming about Juicy alienating him from his father.  Now he's screaming that he killed his mother. Gee Joe G do you maybe feel guilty about something? How could Juicy have so much power? Maybe its because he allowed them unlimited access to their lives whereas I have the feeling Melissa wouldn't be quite as into having them over all the time. Say what you will but Teresa treated her parents very very well.

Have we seen Joe accept any responsibility around the breakdown of his family that took place over the years?  Legit question, I honestly can't remember.

I will be interested to see how Jennifer responds to Traci as well.  I think Margaret's role as "the other woman" clearly struck a nerve with Jennifer that now makes more sense.  Traci essentially did the same, will Jennifer have the same reaction?  As for Margaret exposing Jennifer under the standpoint that her life isn't as great as she makes it sound, if this affair WAS 10 years ago, who is to say that they didn't come out of it stronger on the other side and worked through some issues and got them to a better place?  Are we assuming that because Bill had an affair 10 years ago, that the issues and unhappiness that might have existed back then still exists now?  I don't know that Jennifer has ever pointed backwards and said life was perfect, just that where she is in life now is exactly what she's always wanted, materialistic nature and loud obnoxious kids and all.

Does anybody besides me like Marge's house? I kind of love it and all of it's maximalism, jonathan adler style.

  17. I don't think Louie is a crook, word on the street is that he's a successful business man and a legitimate one at that.  But I don't think that's where the concern lies.  Honestly, even Gia seems to be urging caution in her own way.

JoeGo and Tre are exactly the same person.  Unwilling to see where they make mistakes and unwilling to take ownership and simply say "I'm sorry."  Misguided loyalty or not, the girls are upset about how he's talked about their father - and honestly,  and just want a straightforward apology from their uncle that's not followed by martyrdom, radio silence and then play out on tv drama about how THEIR drama is causing problems ("oh my god, we almost didn't go to this event, Joe didn't want to, but not going would cause such a PROBLEM").  6 months had past.  This should be settled by now.  But without it, Joe and Melissa have no storyline, and I also think that while they can't say it, Gia and Milania are no dummies to what their aunt and uncle are doing.

And truth be told, Joe screaming that Juicy killed his mother honestly isn't fair.  Even if everything had been perfect, she could have still died when she did.  Was there added stress of Tre going to jail?  Absolutely.  There was probably also the added stress of all the public arguing that took place between the Gorgas and Giudice families as well, so by his logic, did he contribute to her dying too young?  Is the resentment that Tre and her mom lost that time together valid?  Sure.  But he put my mother in the ground?  If he wants to finger point, there's plenty of pointing to go around.

I don't know what to make of this Jennifer come-uppance arc that we are coming up on.  Both Margaret and Jennifer have been pretty nasty to each other, does it even matter at this point of who pulled the trigger first?  Is Jackie, Mel and Margaret and their high school mean girl vibe any better than Tre laughing at Jennifer's impression of Jackie?  Honestly, I think Jen is pretty terrible but I can't get behind this Jackie Mel and Margaret trio either because they are equally nasty in their own way.

As for Jen blurting out that it was the pharma rep...this "Bill has been cheating!" stuff has been around for 3 years.  I think Jen effectively took the wind out of Margaret's sails and said "enough is enough, this is my secret to tell so I'll tell it the way I want to."  Deliberate or not, she took ownership in that moment.

  18. Did Margaret have a single conversation that was not maliciously gossipy this episode?  And WHAT was up with her hair?  Was that intentional to have her hair be 3 different colors?  It was terrible and she needs to ask for her money back.  It looked like a twist of yarn.

And Jennifer was right, yes, they were being mean.  That party was an absolute snakepit, I wouldn't want to walk in there.  Jennifer has a lot of flaws but what you see is what you get and this high school mean girls bully vibe can be so psychologically vicious, even in adulthood.  Grow up MJM.

Has anybody besides me ever wondered if Bill is gay?

Theresa is like a different person.  And I am not interested in Dolores redecorating her home, we had that storyline already.  Joe Gorga and Melissa need to get a storyline or get off the screen already.  You don't actually like Tre, but she is your mealticket.  We get it.  And the whole state knows they are crooks, this is not news. Or scandalous.  It is just a matter of if the feds ever decide to go poking around.  And not much to say about Jackie yet.

Maybe, I just found it a bit...odd.  There were other ways to show interaction between the two without it being the "insecurity" factor -- I thought it actually came out quite nicely when her husband observed "The Cleavers" painting the room and fit into their already existing narrative.  This other element just felt forced.  But JMHO.
