  1. Both Vhaegar and Verminthor are over hundred years at this point.
  2. Its worth noting HER reaction. She's not surprised at him. And in fact she even understands that in that moment he's more hurt than she is (He realized he never had Viserys' trust) and he's lashing out the only way he knows how. She also understands that the only way to control him is to not escalate. Make no mistake she knows what he is. She wasnt joking at her wedding when she told him to grab his sword, kill her guards and kidnap her.
  3. Could also just be inbreeding. Aren't all current dragons descended from just the 3 Aegon and his sisters had ?
  4. Errick took Viserys' golden crown from his body. We last see Alicent placing it on the wrapped body. Aegon is wearing the Conqueror's crown (ie Aegon the First) which is black with a ruby in the centre.
  5. Oh hardly. Never under estimate the attractiveness of violent men. Take a look at the Joker in Suicide Squad . yup.
  6. Team Black are unfortunately led by the two who truly believe Targyreons are superior (Rhaenyra and Daemon) "We do what we want" "Targeryons are closer to the Gods" While Team Green is led by a guy plotting to take the throne for years. The one mistake Otto made. He should have simply stayed quiet. But that let Rhaenyra know that at least 3 major Lords were still up for grabs.
  7. He'd have started a bidding war trying to get gifts and concessions. Unfortunately the Greens have more to offer and he knows it.
  8. As an aside. In the title sequence, Aemond's sigil is a blue jewel which makes it easier to identify him and his siblings.
  9. And ironically adds to his connection to Daemon , another character who never denies the things he's accused of.
  10. I see it as the opposite. Like an animal shedding a burden it cant afford in combat.
  11. I got mixed thoughts on that. yeah it looks cool but it also looks very Japanese anime.
  12. Im reminded of what the Hound said to Sansa way back in GOT, "Your father was a killer, your brother is a killer, your husband will be a killer and your sons will be killers." Rhaenyra knows exactly who she married. A killer she has mostly under her control.
  13. A lot of people are embarrassed they liked him early on so they're treating him like he's their ex boyfriend.
  14. Viserys is a very sentimental person as this entire season has shown. He gave his reason in that big bonfire scene where he talked to Alicent. he killed Aemma in his quest for a male heir and thought her was righting that wrong by naming Rhaenyra Heir Then he doubled down when R confronted him about her only being named heir to spite Daemon. As far as Viserys is concerned this has nothing to do with the realm or legal rights. This is about him keeping his word to his daughter. This is the reason why he is a bad and weak king. He lets his personal honour get in the way of statecraft.
  15. Think youve misread the conversation. Stardancer Supreme was saying its badly written because they dont want a woman on the throne. That it makes them all incels. Whereas as you seem to agree, in real life Rhaenyra would always have been supplanted by a younger brother. As for the French situation , while yes that was the real reason, the fact remains they were willing to diminish all women in order to prevent Edward from taking the throne.
  16. True. If they wanted to R and D couldve been informed as quickly as the White Worm was.
  17. Again when have we seen Rhaenyra doing anything proactive. Hell we havent even seen her interact with anyone non-noble (aside from Ser Cristen)
  18. 1. Well R and D have not been shown to pro-active regarding the succession at all. 2. Thats not how raven messaging works. You dont tell the raven where to go. Ravens are reared at each of the major houses and then moved to new locations. When you send a message , the raven is simply returning to where they were born. In other words only the Maesters Citadel has the resources to rear ravens across Westeroes and move them about. Rando with a rookery wouldnt be able to send his ravens anywhere. They would only return home.
  19. Depends on the meaning of better and superior Aemond would be a more decisive King but he has more potential to cause greater destruction and death
  20. 1. They made a point of showing that the guy trying to leave was hung and the rest of them are in the dungeons. 2. Im realizing people think ravens are like cellphones where everyones got one in their pocket . Theyre more like old time telegraph and telegrams where you to an operater to send a message. You have to go to a maester to send a raven and the Grand Maester is part of this conpiracy.
  21. I think we also have to wonder if shes had to deliberately use Larys' services to eliminate people. Not just by accident with the Strongs.
  22. Its using real life events life like the English Anarchy and the Hundred Years War as its basis. 1. In the English Anarchy the nobles swore to follow the King's daughter Matilda but on his death crowned her cousin Stephen instead. leading to a 15 year civil war. The negotiated outcome left Stephen as King but he names Matilda's son his heir. 2. In 1317 the French King died and a grand council of nobles was called to choose between his brother or his daughter. They chose his brother. Just 11 years later in 1328 the French King dies. The English King Edward III was the closest descendent of the late French King being his nephew via the King's sister. However, the French nobility brought up the Salic Law ( a law which had not been used in 500 years ! ) to declare that not only could a woman not succeed, but succession could not pass through a woman. This led to the Hundred Years War as the English Kings tried to claim the throne of France.
  23. 1. Did we need to know ? Will this be a plot point. Or is this just being edgy for edgy sake. 2. I dont mean sexually compromised. I mean that she compromises in the face of stronger wills. See the deaths of Strong and Strong. Or her own marriage to Viserys. In fact her doing that with Larys weakens the big moment she had in the previous scene standing up to her father. So if we had to have this scene I would've written it so that she knows Larys' fetish and simply uses her feet the way some women use cleavage. Just to gain advantage over the guy theyre dealing with. Not this bizarre situation.
  24. What elements ? That Larys is a creep and Alicent is compromised ? We already knew that. When Otto gave that order, it was still early morning. Noone outside the castle knew (except for the White Worm but Otto didnt know that). All the servants were imprisoned. Dragonstone is the other side of of Blackwater Bay from Kings Landing. If the KG moved immediately they could reach there in a day at worst and be only hours behind Rhaenyra. If the KG had agreed Otto would probably have simply locked down the castle for a day. And better yet Otto would probably send his own raven telling Rhaneyra that the Kingsguard were coming to deliver something important from the King. Again remember this is literally the day after the Last Supper. Rhaenyra would still be expecting reconciliation Finally everyone with influence doesnt use ravens. Ravens are used by the Maesters. No maester, no raven.
  25. Indeed. Otto could've positioned himself early on as Rhaenyra's strongest supporter. With the all the background patriarchy she would've had to lean on him alot to cement her succession. They want physical control of Aegon for different reasons. We saw the outcome of this when Alicent told Otto " I have Aegon, I have the final say" 1. Black dude is the Grand Master. 2. Remember Rhaenyra doesn't know her father is dead. So will be no army and the dragons will be kept wherever. This is an assassination mission.
