  1. Various upcoming things from the latest Doctor Who Magazine, out tomorrow, per Cultbox. For the Christmas special, there will be a musical number in the episode that will also be released on streaming services after the episode https://www.tvzoneuk.com/post/doctor-who-boss-reveals-episode-title-from-next-series
  2. Amanda Setton talks about Brook Lynn's engagement https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/exclusive-general-hospitals-amanda-setton-on-brook-lynns-engagement/?utm_campaign=true_anthem_soapoperadigest&utm_content=new_content&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
  3. Spoilers ahead The full text of the tweet if you don't have Twitter: Russell T. Davies in Doctor Who Magazine: "...there will be controversial events in [The Giggle]. If you watched the commentary on iPlayer, I unroll a whole new #DoctorWho mythology for you, based around the events taking place... The commentary will have information that will rock the world... it's a whole new way of of looking at the history of Doctor Who and I can't wait to see the reaction." Sounds like he's either going for a major reset or something else, or he's doing his usual hyperbole and it won't be such a big thing
  4. Article on the details http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2023/12/05/emmy-award-winning-so-you-think-you-can-dance-returns-to-fox-with-host-cat-deeley-and-all-new-format-for-18th-season-865014/20231205fox01/ Well, that’s a really nice surprise. I’m sure we all thought it was dead after there was no word of a renewal after last season. I am quite surprised that Nigel is back as host after what happened before
  5. A quick Google search indicates they can do lapro for a burst appendix but it depends
  6. The Christmas special is set to broadcast starting at 5:55pm GMT (12:55pm Eastern Time in the US) on BBC One and iPlayer and stream on Disney+ internationally. It will be 55 minutes https://www.tvzoneuk.com/post/bbcxmasschedule2023
  7. 7 day consolidated numbers are 7.61 million viewers and 10th on the weekly chart. It might have gone higher in rank but 7 nights of “I’m a Celebrity..” clogged up the upper part of the chart along with the stalwart Strictly with its 2 nights. But Star Beast was the highest rated drama of the week. The specials are doing well so far
  8. Stephen will be out another week to recover. I had a feeling he wouldn’t be back so soon. I would think a burst appendix would need more recovery time https://ew.com/stephen-colbert-extends-late-show-hiatus-after-surgery-8410715
  9. Really good interview with Liz Chaney once Rachel got around to it. When she has an interview with an important or otherwise very interesting subject, she should jettison the usual 20 minute windup and reading excerpts from the subject’s book, if they have one, and just spend most of the show just interviewing the subject, with maybe a short intro
  10. Just to point out, the Newton actor is biracial, White and Chinese
  11. Comings and goings from Soap Opera Network https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2023/12/casting-about-jackie-cox-lily-brooks-o-briant-vail-bloom
  12. It was a sign to the audience that something was up
  13. The overnight rating was 4.83 million viewers and I think 3rd for the night. Strictly was first with 7.82 million and I’m a Celebrity got 5.05 million
  14. FYI, the ending was Bernard Cribbins’ only scene that he was able to film https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/doctor-who-wilf-final-scene-newsupdate/
  15. 60th Anniversary special #3, starring David Tennant and Catherine Tate Premieres December 9 at 6:30pm GMT on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK and Disney+ internationally Synopsis: The giggle of a mysterious puppet is driving the human race insane. When the Doctor discovers the return of the terrifying Toymaker, he faces a fight he can never win. Writer: Russell T. Davies Director: Chanya Button Guest starring Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker Next time trailer
  16. It started pretty weird and I wasn’t so sure about it, but it picked up once the bad guys showed up and an immediate rewatch made the first part better. David and Catherine’s acting and chemistry carried this well. The Newton opening was just too silly. It was really nice to see Wilf and the ending was a good cliffhanger for the next special
  17. November 21 episode (yes, still behind): I’m really liking the relationship between Nina and Charlotte; Charlotte really likes and trusts her even if Nina is no longer her stepmother. That kid needs someone she can trust and Laura and Nina are doing great work helping her
  18. Cute episode but those sandwiches didn’t sound appetizing
  19. Press release on the Christmas special that I missed earlier https://www.doctorwho.tv/news-and-features/doctor-who-lands-on-christmas-day-2023-with-the-church-on-ruby-road
  20. Doctor Who tweet on the Christmas Special For those who can't see tweets, it says "This Christmas, the Doctor makes a new friend, faces goblins, and has a run-in with... Davina McCall? #DoctorWho returns on Christmas Day with THE CHURCH ON RUBY ROAD!" with pictures of The Doctor, Ruby, a goblin and Davina
