  1. Not a surprise as the ratings were terrible. I was bored with the first episode but it picked up for me after that
  2. I just don't understand rich parents who want to force their kid to go to college when she makes it perfectly clear that she's not interested and will end up wasting their money. I definitely don't get rich parents who will go to a lot of effort to cheat for a kid who has no interest in going to college. Hope it was worth the jail time
  3. I enjoyed the episode; it covered the chaos of the pandemic pretty well. I liked that they went through the subsequent months so we could see how things progressed I understand that some viewers don't want to see Covid stuff, but I think shows like medical shows, Superstore because of the retail stories and The Connors because they have been so oriented around working class issues can't ignore it
  4. Yes, the ratings were pretty bad. It premiered with 0.3 in the 18-49 demo and 1.8 million viewers and I think it went a bit down for the second episode and I read somewhere its 7 day ratings were just about the same. I don’t know if it’s an expensive show, but if it is, it likely wasn’t worth getting a second season given the added production expenses due to Covid and the likelihood the ratings wouldn’t get better. Wasn’t this going to be a Summer or late Spring show that was held over until Fall? It may have been set up to fail
  5. I give the show a pass on showing the baby/toddler given the pandemic. The parents may not want to risk the child's health or the producers may think the safety protocols might be too much to deal with a baby
  6. Children In Need’s 2020 telecast will be on Friday Nov 13 on the BBC, with some contribution from Doctor Who. The hope is there will be a trailer or something for the Revolution of the Daleks special and perhaps a broadcast date. There are rumors it will be shown at Christmas, but there’s been nothing official. The CiN press release https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/2020/45/children-in-need Jodie Whittaker and other British actresses to appear in spoof to benefit NHS https://cultbox.co.uk/news/jodie-whittaker-and-other-british-actresses-to-appear-in-spoof-to-benefit-nhs
  7. I’m starting to feel the coaches should be sitting further apart and that they should be wearing masks at all times, along with Carson.
  8. Keith will probably appeal, though who knows what kind of chance he has. He called the judge corrupt and didn’t really show remorse so he probably won’t find a sympathetic audience in the courts
  9. Really good result. I hope his victims feel somewhat better and can go on with their lives. Anything on whether and when he’ll be eligible for parole?
  10. Are we to assume cameras are actually capturing these events as they are happening (like most reality shows) or that the operators are reenacting things (or are actors playing the operators)? I wondered since the blurb says calls are rerecorded to protect privacy and whatnot.
  11. That second to last singer was boring, so I’m not surprised she didn’t get a chair turn. I think she was the one who indicated she liked bluegrass, country and something else interesting, so I don’t know why she didn’t go with an interesting mix The sound levels are not doing some singers any favors. I can barely hear some of these people when not in closeup I appreciate that they have a virtual audience. It helps with the excitement level and doesn’t put anyone in danger
  12. In case you have a subscription or free articles left, the link https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/26/nyregion/keith-raniere-nxivm.html
  13. Doctor Who Editor Rebecca Trotman won the Cymru BAFTA (ie Welsh BAFTA) Editing award for Ascension of the Cybermen
  14. Jodie will be on BBC Radio 6 tomorrow (Sunday) at 2pm
  15. Episode 3 was pretty interesting with the couple in an open marriage, plus the wife's soulmate was a woman, which they were clearly not expecting. It didn't seem like anything was going to work out, but in the end, everybody involved figured out how to make it work in a rather interesting manner
  16. One of the things I like about the show is that it doesn't hide that it's set in Canada. There are a few too many shows, both US and Canada, that hide where they are set, though I haven't noticed if it's set in a specific city (something too many shows do hide)
  17. Keith has been interviewed for an upcoming NBC Dateline episode and there was an excerpt on NBC news
  18. Truly horrible stuff in that interview. I’m glad India took time to heal and get therapy and is doing fairly well now
  19. I enjoyed the episode, though any Covid-related storylines are not going to be an easy watch while the pandemic is still happening. It may be a comedy, but this show was always bittersweet i hate to say it but John Goodman’s weight loss didn’t do him any favors. He didn’t look well last season and he doesn’t look well now i cringed at seeing the baby on set. That can’t be safe for her i loved the George Clooney callback scene. I agree that Jackie isn’t written well these days
  20. In reality, Rainbow would probably be staying in a separate part of the house away from the family so she wouldn't chance infecting them I continue to tire of Dre's constant whining It's going to be interesting having these various comedies incorporating Covid and still managing to be funny
  21. Catherine did have several professionals helping her, including a cult deprogrammer. I’m not sure if most of them were used before or after she got India back
  22. On HBO linear. I believe this is it (or fairly similar) from this Variety article https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/the-vow-season-2-keith-raniere-nxivm-1234810845/
  23. This is certainly an interesting premise and series, though Episode 2 was a weird anomaly with the woman getting revenge instead of being soul mates. I haven’t seen Ep 3 yet
  24. This didn't connect with me either. I guess I'm not into food shopping game shows.
  25. From Variety, where are the various NXIVM players now? https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/the-vow-where-are-keith-raniere-allison-mack-1234808846/
