Not dating for many years is not necessarily a red flag. I took a 10 year hiatus myself...finished up my bachelor's degree, obtained a master's, worked full time....dating just wasn't a priority. Completing my education and working on ME was.

Here is what I don't understand...this is NOT his first time to Brazil. The very first time he went I think he had about twice that amount. Help me out here...did it ever specify how long Eric was in the military? for some reason the number "7 years" seems to be ringing in my head. IF that is true, then he would not qualify for any type of military pension. So, what does he do for a living? If his 19 year old daughter is helping him pay the bills how in the hell can he afford the K-1Visa process? Not to mention food, rent, utilities, etc...

I *wish* former military men were nicely neat and organized,, especially my husband. Honest to God, I have never, ever met a bigger slob. But yeah, Eric's apartment is GROSS....I don't see how they live there.

There is so much about this that is just...weird. Eric is 40, right? His oldest daughter is 21 and he's been single for at least a couple of years. So he was, what, 16/17 when he got married? And now he wants to marry a young 20ish person with a 5 year old child? WTF??? His ex wife seems to be the only sane one in the bunch.

Based on "jus sanguinas" (law of blood) the child is a US citizen. Pole would need to register the birth in Brazil and the US.
