  1. It was kind of jarring to go back to Matt after just having had our first season with Allison (who I love). What a great group of bakers, all of whom did really well and (as others have said) were a massive upgrade from the Channel 4 people. I thought for sure Chigs’s showstopper would have won it. That looked straight out of a magazine. I’m bummed we are a year behind in the US - I want the new holiday episodes next week!
  2. I love Rob and Corey with my whole heart but Greg and John are delightful.
  3. This is a truly delightful final six, but I can say without reservation that Rob and Corey are my favorite team to ever run the race. Their conversation on the mat solidified it - what a touching moment that we all got to be part of. Months later, thousands of miles away! I’m glad Steve and Anna Leigh were able to close out strong, and I hope she looks into that anxiety prescription. It’s okay to be competitive and want to win (hi, it’s me, I’m the problem it’s me) but she was clearly struggling to keep it all together towards the end. You can and should encourage your partner, but you also can’t change their physical capabilities through yelling at them more and louder.
  4. I’m honestly not sure I’ve ever loved a team more than Rob and Corey.
  5. That man is very smiley in talking heads for being in last place, it makes me wonder what happens at this roadblock.
  6. LOVE. They would be such a satisfying final three! This episode reminded me of why I’m glad I am no longer with an ex who - among other things - was a dick about me being slower than him. I know Steve can’t and won’t leave his daughter but I certainly wish him, his lungs, and his eardrums peace.
  7. So well said. Watching Rob absolutely geek out in the glider (and then history geek out over NATO?!), and watching Corey be so happy for his moments of glory, was such a treat. And a blessed relief from the other parent-child team. If I spoke to my dad like that, regardless of stress or circumstance, I would be not long for this world. It would truly never occur to me to speak to one of my parents like that. (Or anyone, really.) I was feeling a mega leg up until the very end, so it was a pleasant surprise when the episode ended with an actual elimination. It feels like they have been brutal and very demanding legs of late. The sound of “Lena!” yelled over and over again might be seared into my brain for a while, but I still liked the sisters. It’s funny how of the remaining teams I have a VERY strong preference for the 3 all male teams.
  8. She just told her dad to get his ass up here. I would be dead at the spot.
  9. Oh my god. Nightmare - they are going to kill themselves for absolutely no reason.
  10. Girlfriend has Killer Fatigue for real, on top of a general bitch aura. A deadly combo.
  11. Rob looks like the happiest person to have ever happied, this is delightful. And I would be absolutely shitting myself in one of those gliders. Excited but terrified.
  12. That was fun to watch, even while I find most of the actual people ridiculous. And am I the only one worried Jake was having an actual seizure or stroke at tribal when he was struggling to find words, given his episodes shown in prior episodes?! Goodness.
  13. This, a million times over. It’s disheartening to see the myriad ways ableism plays out in the tent as well as in life. I thought Josh was the sure winner, was not at all prepared for Dan’s name to be called. It was Saku’s time and yet she will still be so very missed.
  14. Another really demanding leg! Unfortunately there was no drama whatsoever about the outcome, but I still enjoyed all the tasks and watching Steve lose his shit on his daughter while Rob and Corey are having the best time of their lives together. An interesting contrast of parent/child relationships, for sure.
  15. Team Kellie and/or Austin, for sure. Kaleb will be very missed but he and Jake misplayed that situation with Katurah and it bit them in the ass. Bruce is getting an absolutely horrific edit; I can’t imagine how annoying he must have actually been for them to do him like this after all the hype around his return.
  16. I am obsessed with Rob and his entire spirit towards the race.
  17. I thought it was for sure Matty’s week to go, they threw me for a loop with Dana. (To be fair it seemed like a coin toss between the two based on judges comments and my own eyeballs.) Thrilled for Josh. He is a great baker with such a quiet but strong presence. And I still adore Tasha - I will be sad if the two of them don’t make it to the end.
  18. These are some tough tasks! Steve is so much more pleasant than his daughter. I don’t understand how the two brothers at the back are so consistently struggling at everything. Happy for the two brothers on the opposite end of the spectrum - great win this leg.
  19. Sifu seems like he’s trying too hard and still getting next to no screen time, while Bruce is going to annoy his way right out of the game. Settle down, my dudes! Kaleb is so good at this, it will be interesting to see if this gives him a second chance at life or if they’re just going to come right after him again. I like Julie too. She is mostly invisible, but I like her.
  20. Nicky and Rowan are delightful humans. I can’t imagine what it would feel like in the tent to lose them both at once, but it seemed as a viewer very obvious that’s what was going to happen. Josh’s sunflower pie(s) was stunning. It was very sweet to hear him talk about his relationship with his grandmother, and I’m glad he did so well with this bake. I still think Josh, Tasha, and Dan (I think that’s his name?!) seem to be a tier above the rest.
  21. That tiny person is seriously In Charge. I do appreciate seeing a father/daughter team do so well despite her rather, ah, strong personality. The foreshadowing was coming on strong that they are likely to be U turned or whatever we’re calling it. Editors also seems to drop some hints about other teams at risk; my hope is Corey & Rob having a rough day and being so damn likable spares them next week. The painting recreation was a brutal task for tired racers who aren’t great at paying attention to itty bitty details.
  22. Rob and Corey!!!!!!! I am relieved as hell, am not at all ready for them to go.
