  1. Absolutely. Renee is doing a fantastic job. I love her accent too. "I been thinkeen..." She really nails it. I'm mostly getting used to the prosthetics.
  2. I'm enjoying this so much! I just hate only getting one hour a week. It's so frustrating! I want Pam to get her comeuppance. I had an epiphany about this show. Originally I felt bad for Betsy's family and Russ, that Betsy's death was being treated as a dark comedy. But now I've seen a few episodes, and how sympathetically the family is being treated I realized something. I've never had anyone in my family murdered, thank goodness, but I've lived through two really traumatic, long term situations, both perpetrated on purpose by selfish people for their own benefit. I pictured these injustices being made into TV shows where various family members and I were treated sympathetically, but the perpetrators were given the Pam Hupp treatment, treated as horrible cartoonish villains. I realized it would be incredibly cathartic and vindicating for me to watch. Oddly, it would be way more satisfying than a straight drama, which would probably make me feel way worse. I'm hoping Russ and Betsy's family are having the same experience. It reminds me of how they used to make cartoons about Hitler during WWII. Many people feel that ridiculing evil people is so much more powerful than just pointing out how evil they are. It takes away their power. Sorry to be so heavy. It's amazing what buttons a good dark comedy can press. But in a good way!
  3. Doesn't she say to Larry at the ball that she's feeling numb? And he responds that he hopes she's okay once the numbness wears off, or words to that effect? Because that's a real thing. I've lived it and seen it in others. You think "Huh. I'm fine. I actually don't feel that upset." Then 48 hours later it hits you like a ton of bricks and you realize that you were numb, and it's wearing off.
  4. Somehow I totally missed that there were two Kyle Moores. I'll have to google the other one to jog my memory.
  5. Tonight's episode was sooo good! Jayce and Gino discovering they didn't betray each other! Kevin/Andrew Gross pleading their case! Kevin and Betty bonding! Speaking of odd couples, am I the only one getting the vibe that Jess has a crush on Josh? I know it doesn't make sense on paper, but I know what I see. I wish we'd seen more of the party. I'll bet it was funny. Kyle sure didn't show any self awareness last week, but he did tonight. You can tell he knows how bad he looked, after the fact. Haleena was The Invisible Woman, for the most part. She's probably okay with that. Meanwhile, everyone seems to love Josh. I expect him to go far.
  6. Kyle is baffling. He seemed so normal when he first came into the house, and he proved to be a complete fruit loop. Nothing he does makes any sense, yet he's always so proud of himself. So entertaining to watch!
  7. I'm really looking forward to the next episode. It should be a doozy. So far this season has been unusually entertaining. It might be weird but I still feel bad for the players who were in the season stopped by Covid. It's like the show is just pretending they never existed. πŸ˜’
  8. Can I comment on the live feeds without spoilers? I'm not sure what the rules are. I'm definitely not happy about the noms though! And this surprises me, given my opinion of a certain person in episode one.
  9. Is she the one whose famous husband just died and left her penniless, or am I confusing my celebrity models? Because then she would need to appear on stuff like this to pay the rent. Either way, in my experience ex-supermodels and pageant queens are as tough as they come, and usually excel on shows like this.
  10. Good description. Perfect for the ring, not so much for the jungle. I know they're doing this for charity, at least the prize money is for charity. But I'm sure they're all also getting a nice salary to show up and crawl through the mud. As for Metta, I only know him from Celebrity BB, where his claim to fame was threatening to quit every single day. So I was surprised to see him show up here.
  11. So The Bachelor stalked one of the girls, and then came out as gay? That's very weird. I can see why people have very mixed feelings about him. I don't imagine that The Bachelor people are exactly thrilled. If he was accused of stalking, how could he get on this show?
  12. I agree that some of the people are taking this too seriously. I think they feel compelled to act like they're having all kinds of epiphanies and life changing revelations... in one day. Which is hard to believe. The religious aspect doesn't bother me. A lot of viewers are religious, but it's so rarely reflected on TV. Usually, if someone on a show is praying or reading the Bible it's shorthand for "Serial killer alert!"Or the person turns to be a hateful psycho. So I don't mind this. That's said, it's not for everyone. I can understand people not appreciating this part of it. I don't know if I can get invested in any of these people. I feel like several of them, if not most, just needed the paycheck. I'll probably give it one more try, then decide.
  13. Speaking generally, I'm always confused by the nom choices. Why do people nominate people like Jess and Betty who aren't even remotely threats? It's like they're afraid to nominate real threats, so they nominate total non-threats, but flatter them by calling them threats to their faces. What's hilarious is how often the targets buy this excuse.
  14. Didn't they say he was a wrestling announcer, or something similar? Or does he just sound like one? Either way, he's a terrible choice. He'll have to show a lot more personality before we can warm to him at all.
  15. Haleena. I really like her. Also, she's one of those women who can go from regular looking, to absolutely gorgeous, back to regular looking in one episode. I've known people like this IRL, and loved the Seinfeld episode about it. It's partly makeup, partly lighting, partly... something else. No clue why Betty hates Kevin so much. I can't blame her for being cranky and confused though, with Kyle constantly telling her she's going up then not doing it. I think it's given her both paranoia and a skewed idea of how important she is to the game right now.
  16. I'm glad Betty didn't win HoH because you know she would have put up Kevin. "I don't have to pretend to hate you. I DO hate you." 😁 I definitely want Kevin to stay for maximum chaos. No clue who Gino puts up at this point, speaking of chaos. It should be an unpredictable and interesting HoH. My favourite kind. Great season so far. I laughed when JL and Gino kissed and she immediately said "Sorry Mom and Dad!" I can't figure out why more people don't do this. It's also probably why most showmances stay relatively PG, and I'm fine with that. (I think occasionally production just doesn't show stuff which I'm also fine with. The alternative is too cringy.)
  17. Apparently I do too. Wouldn't miss it!
  18. Now there's an enthusiastic endorsement. 😁 I'm not sure if I'll keep watching. I do like that no one gets voted off, so cooperation instead of competition is emphasized. That's a concept we need to see more. To work we'll need to be emotionally invested in the players, which I'm not sure yet if I'll be. That mud challenge is my worst nightmare. Well, not my worst since there were no leeches. Totally agree that the host is lacking charisma. What a strange choice. Does he dye his hair? One pet peeve - the loud, driving rah-rah music underlying almost every minute of the show, even when it's just people sitting and talking. I hate it so much.
  19. What a great episode tonight! Kyle as HoH is a total trainwreck. In one week he nominated 3 members OF HIS OWN ALLIANCE! You can't make this stuff up! Oh, and for good measure he told the same person twice that he was putting them up, then didn't do it. He's right - he'll definitely be remembered, just not the way he thinks. 😁
  20. Tonight was a Survivor first for me. In the middle of the blindfold challenge (my favourite kind) I had to pause the show for a full 2 minutes to get a grip on myself. I was laughing so hard I was crying, couldn't see or hear. I also rewound certain bits because they were so hilarious. I'm a bad person, aren't I? But I'll probably rewatch it tomorrow. 😁
  21. I like that they continue to show Betsy's family in a realistic but kind light. I felt so sorry for the daughter who got ignored at the police station when she was trying to see her stepdad.
  22. Seriously, they're being made to look like corrupt idiots.
  23. I long for the good old days when I had a maid to fluff my hat feathers. 😁 Someone else on this thread bemoaned Marian's awful outfits. Are we watching the same show? Marian might be a pill but I think her outfits are beautiful. I'm not usually a fan of yellow but the pale creamy yellow dresses look lovely on her, and she had a deep pink dress last episode that was absolutely gorgeous. Louisa has the perfect figure to show these off, tall and willowy. YMMV.
  24. Schrodinger's baby! 😁😁😁
  25. I thought Agnes's reason for keeping Armstrong was very believable. Retraining a lady's maid would be as tiresome and time-consuming as finding and training a new British butler. Sounds reasonable to me. I loved the early scene showing what a powerhouse of energy and control Bertha is, with no detail too small for her to take over, never thinking or caring that maybe other people like to make choices too. But you can see how her staff might look up to and respect such a dominating boss. Unpopular opinion : I'm not enjoying Peggy that much. Like so many people on this show, she suffers from one-note-itis. And I don't understand her motivation for walking out on her job. So Armstrong discovered she was married and had a baby - the rest of the staff seem to like her - what exactly is the problem? (Side note: the show is doing a horrible job lighting her. The only scene where she was properly lit was the one with her mother, and the difference was very noticeable - her beauty really came to life. She deserves better than what she's getting.) "Get rid of Mrs. Russell!" Bertha's "chicken walk of shame" was the very first truly funny thing on this show. Loved it. I continue to have such mixed feelings about this show. There's so much to like, but the dialogue continues to be dreadful half of the time. Stilted and unbelievable - I just cringe. The actress playing Mrs Astor is PERFECT! I hope we see lots more of her. The clothes continue to be a delight.
