  1. What a great episode tonight! So much happened. Kevin is emerging as the stealth MVP. He's on no ones radar. What a strange dress Arisa had on. It almost looked like it had a tiny screen on it, or maybe a hologram? Wow, I didn't expect T to go so hard on Jess, especially that burn about her name. I found it awkward and embarrassing when she was sobbing about being on the block as a single mother. By the Jess/Gino vote I'd lost track of who was even remotely likely to vote for who. I laughed out loud when Betty got the only gutter ball, because of course she did! Could anyone be any worse at challenges? 😁
  2. I'm enjoying them so much, and I'm sad they're going to be ripped apart soon. Jonathan is my favourite player in many seasons, and I'm sad his reward is going to be an early exit. (When he said his father would get him up at 3 years old to do pull-ups, I thought it was going to be a sad abuse story, but happily no.) That was so confusing. Jonathan stated that their tribe was strong and united. This was so evident from their performances so far that it was just stating the obvious. How could it possibly hurt them? I felt like the editors were the ones trying to create drama where none existed.
  3. What is with this season and people putting up their alliance members? Double eviction!!!
  4. Oh, Petty Betty. Give Moose a chance.😂 Wait... Kevin and Haleena?? The Ghost alliance? Okay, I'm stuck with this emoji that won't let me delete it. 🤣
  5. I never thought about the strength thing. I suppose surprise would be a huge factor in overcoming Betsy's defence. I was thinking more that most people would think a woman couldn't be aggressive or mentally brutal enough to do this to a friend in cold blood. It seemed incredibly unlikely.
  6. Yes, it's not like Betsy was shot once, or something relatively "normal". It looked like a Manson family crime scene, the very opposite of calm and calculated.
  7. I'm enjoying this show so much. I laughed out loud when Keith Morrison suddenly says snarkily in voiceover, "Done with Dateline?" or something similar. I never thought Renee could be this great at being absolutely loathsome. I'm glad they didn't linger too long on her treatment of her little girl, though, because it was too painful to watch. The show hints at the family roots of Pam's personality disorder, without trying to make her a sympathetic person. I appreciate this.
  8. I'm probably going to have to use the above post for reference this week. It sounds like everyone is playing hard.
  9. I laughed SO HARD tonight at the "fight" between Betty and Moose, the one where she accused him of various things, including not talking to her enough, then told him she didn't want to hear anything he had to say about anything. He got to say a total of 3 words. It's a technique my ex used to employ that I called "fighting by yourself." I don't think all is lost though, because in the past Betty had similar "fights" with Kevin and now they're friends. If Moose puts his mind to it, he can get on her good side. Betty and Jess probably shouldn't give any lessons on communication any time soon. They both consider themselves people who just tell it like it is, but they seem unaware of what the other person is feeling. That said, Jess is definitely more self-aware than Betty. You can tell that Jess knows they're bad at communicating, but can't figure out how to change it. I think Betty thinks she's an excellent communicator. Speaking of Jess, I was confused last week because they've seemed devoted to Josh in a way that that seemed like a crush, just going by body language. I know he's gay, but I was under the impression Jess was a lesbian so it was sort of confusing to me. But then tonight it turns out they have a long-term boyfriend? Husband? I didn't expect that, partly because I don't recall Jess ever referencing someone called John or being married. I really need to watch people's bios next season. I should note that I don't think Jess has inappropriate intentions towards Josh, just that Jess REALLY likes him.
  10. It's true. Sometimes I'll put it on my TV and listen while I clean the kitchen, but other times I just want a 5 minute summary, and don't have the patience for episodes that can last up to 2 hours! This isn't a criticism of RHAP since I get it all FOR FREE and have spent hundreds of enjoyable hours with them, but lately I have the patience of a gnat and just want the tl/dr version. So I appreciate getting it here.
  11. Recently someone suggested a YouTuber to me who does True Crime videos, and going through his videos I was gobsmacked by the fact there were hundreds of them. I guess I think of True Crime cases as anomalies, but this showed they're just so common. At this point, a case needs a real hook to capture people's attention. Sad, really.
  12. I've never heard of this show. Unfortunately at this point, it seems like there are infinite shows, movies, podcasts, forums on a gazillion different services and platforms. It's overwhelming.
  13. Yes, some seasons I'm a devoted Taran watcher. This season I never seem to get through more than the first 10 minutes. For various reasons, my focus is terrible right now, and reading seems way easier than listening, for BB, BBCan and Survivor. Hopefully, this will pass.
  14. I'm so glad I can come here for feeds spoilers! It seems long between the TV episodes.
  15. Wow, this is not at all what I would have expected. I'm not complaining though, because that's what keeps me watching. There's nothing worse than a totally predictable season.
  16. Wow! This season just keeps getting better!
  17. The big draw of shows like this is to get to know famous people behind the scenes. Unfortunately I don't know half of these celebrities, and don't especially care about the other half. Also... I HATE the nonstop stressful background music. And oh my word, that announcer! Is it really only Day 2? They're acting like it's the second month. But I still watched! What is wrong with me? 😁 Lauren seems nice. Craig's story was heartbreaking.
  18. Yikes, I've been totally oblivious to all of this. To be honest, I've wondered where a person would go, other than here, to discuss BBCan, because I never see a single thing about it other than this thread, and RHAP. Maybe it's just as well. 😬 I did notice that Marty seemed to be majorly overreacting to Gino's comments, but it never occurred to me that certain friends, fans and family had such strong opinions about things like this, and who Gino was interested in. That's bonkers.
  19. This whole Jonathan scenario was one of my favourite things in many seasons. As Wandering Snark said, Jonathan really was legendary. Usually at least 50 % of posters are going to snark on pretty much everything and everybody, but I'm noticing a real dearth of snark about Jonathan's exploits here. His singlehandedly winning immunity was a thing of beauty, and yet somehow hilariously OTT.
  20. Okay, so I didn't imagine him! We just saw him for a fraction of a second. Tantalizing! 😁
  21. Interesting. I sometimes wonder if some people just genetically have faces that don't express emotion well. Therefore, they aren't going to be great actors unless the part calls for someone stonefaced and inscrutable. (Keanu?) This is why we get so upset when fantastic actors we love get way too much surgery and/or Botox, and suddenly they're unable to convince us they're feeling anything. Watching them becomes painful and disappointing. That said, Louisa was showing genuine emotion in this episode, with visible tears, but in shows like this, on our relatively small TV/laptop /phone screens, we expect to see a lot more. The ball was glorious though. I always find it so strange that in a time we think of as so restrictive and prudish, people partied till the next day, as the dancing and champagne flowed, driving home in the morning light.
  22. That was wonderful to watch. Has there ever been a Survivor quite like Jonathan? Insanely strong and competitive, yet well liked by his tribe and apparently fairly self-aware and humble? He's actually fun to watch, as he calmly carries a ladder and his bedraggled tribe members through giant pounding surf as it drowns the other tribes. Fudge! Shiz! I don't know if I could handle Maryann IRL (I guess it would depend on how kind-hearted a person she is) but I really love her on this show. I'll be disappointed if she or Jonathan leave any time soon.
  23. I absolutely love watching Gino and Marty speaking Franglais. I grew up as an Anglophone in Montreal and one of my favourite things was eavesdropping on people in cafes and restaurants having animated conversations in both languages AT THE SAME TIME! The funniest part was that it was impossible to tell whether the speakers were Anglophone or Francophone. Loved it. (I had a close Francophone friend when I was in my twenties, and we discovered that we communicated best when I spoke English and she spoke French. More people should try this!) Mr. M and I laughed so hard at the various HGs silent side-eyes and expressions when Gino nominated Kyle. Like Jess, Summer is growing on me, but I still don't know what she'd be like IRL. Is she always on, or just fun? I'm assuming Kyle is toast, but I continue to expect the unexpected, because this season makes no sense. I love it.

  25. I think she paid boatloads of money to keep her secret. She makes a comment to this effect.
