  1. I was sad to see James go, as I did enjoy him on the show. I wish Leah Jenea had challenged someone else, because that girl is super talented, and belongs in the final 4. But so did James. I would be happy to see James as one of the comeback performers next week. If so, he'd be unwise to challenge Leah into a rematch, though that would probably be his marching orders from the producers. I'm not a Sharaya fan, nor a rap fan, and would be happy to see her eliminated in the comeback challenge. But, is it required that she can only be challenged by another rapper?
  2. I liked Kevon's maid enough that I could mentally include it in other earlier, better seasons. Matt's purple chef was awful, I thought, and for the same reason as Yvonne. I'd argue that the chef's teeth weirdly sticking out on the outside of his mouth and well above the top lip looked even anatomically worse than Yvonne's stapled mouth. This is the only time I can remember Glenn saying that the judges' decision on the winner wasn't unanimous. Has that happened before? This has been a sadly uninspired final season. I wish the show could have gone out on a better note. Aah, for the days of Tim Burton Bellhop, the Cello woman, and puppet ballerina (still my all-time favorite).
  3. Three of the 45 episodes aired so far took place on a yacht, the Abigail, and that was two seasons ago. If Mel Smith is looking to win lawsuit lotto, I don't think this one works out in his favor.
  4. Oh, I truly enjoyed Freshh and look forward to seeing them again. Silver Beat had a very compelling back story and it's great that it got some exposure. But, the lady (sorry, can't remember her name) looked almost pissed off with the critiques and when the judges didn't put them through. It's hard to imagine that Silver Beat couldn't watch almost all the other qualifiers and see that they weren't as good as them. Seeing Afrodance on the show was a welcome development, but I think there are probably better representations of the genre. Marissa and the Heartbreakers confused me. It seemed they were saying that dancing almost as good as other crews, but while wearing high heels, is what made their group exceptional. Does that mean that if another crew wears stilts, and dances almost as good as Marissa's group, the stilt walkers win that battle? As far as being all about the empowerment of women, I don't get how stripper choreography does that.
  5. That would be a refreshing development. I mostly like this show, but I'm so bored with the Liza/Charles/Josh storylines. A Josh-Lauren fling could be fun for a change. I'd also like to see some new storylines for Maggie and Diana.
  6. There were a couple of dancers I enjoyed in this episode, especially Ryan Green. That was so much fun to watch! I hope he does well with choreography and other styles. Yes, and more Twitch, please. Can't the show throw us a bone and make him a regular judge? Everything's better with Twitch. I also enjoyed Bridget Derville-Teer, surprisingly. Once she got past the posing and strength moves and got into the dancing (about the 30 second mark in the video above), her musicality and near-perfect timing really impressed me. I suspect she'll exceed expectations as the show progresses. Arcadian Broad was massively overhyped. He made me miss the great ballet contestants on this show, like Danny Tidwell and Chehon. It doesn't look as though we'll get anything like them this season.
  7. LOL! This comment was far more entertaining than anything in the audition rounds so far. Add: ethnically diverse, gender-fluid and differently abled, and we will have the superfecta of TV talent competition shows.
  8. So, more has surfaced regarding all of this. After reading the 2014 text message Chris sent to Chloe when he broke up with her (including her replies trying to talk him out of it), and watching the youtube video she uploaded the day after the surgery she referenced in her allegations, I don't find her to be credible. Link to text messages: http://tmz.vo.llnwd.net/o28/newsdesk/tmz_documents/0619_Hardwick Texts.pdf Post-surgery video:
  9. She says that when she told him she didn't feel like it, he reminded her that the reason he left his previous GF was because she didn't want to have sex. So, says Chloe, she did it (so he wouldn't leave her). That's what's being called sexual assault these days, I guess. If all of it's true, he committed no crimes. If all of it's true, he's a controlling narcissistic asshole, and the world is full of people just like him in positions of power, money, and influence. Since the beginning of time. And there's no shortage of seemingly young, attractive, intelligent women who willingly become the other half of such a couple. If I demanded that all people in the entertainment industry be kind, sensitive, decent, emotionally healthy individuals, I'm nearly certain there'd be very few I could listen to or watch. Some of the women I most respect and admire in real life are women who came out of relationships like Chloe is describing. They (the women) asked themselves, "How could I be attracted to a man like him? What does it say about me that I would stay with a man like him?" Then, they (the women) went about the long, hard, painful work of answering those questions, a process that can take years. First, they had to realize that it's not about him, who he is, what he did. It's about you, and why you were there, and doing whatever it takes to never be there again. What they didn't do, as Chloe apparently acknowledges she did, was go immediately into another relationship and, even years later, blame the controlling narcisstic asshole for her choice to be in that relationship and stay with him until he told her to leave.
  10. Bad? Horrible? Awful? I agree with having no objection to recruiting "professional" acts. But if they have international recruiting, youtube, other countries' talent shows, other US talent shows, why can't they do better than this? Something's not right.
  11. Awful, just awful. I've yet to see a single act that I'd ever care to see again. The golden buzzer acts have all been mediocre at best and horrible at worst (such as last night's fake awkward can't sing girl). The judges seem to be phoning it in more than ever, they all look so completely bored, tired and just over it. The show's always been fakity fake, as expected, but really it does seem scripted to within an inch of its life this season. Only 3 audition rounds into the season and I'm already considering deleting. That's a record for me.
  12. I'll take that. I'd like to see Daniel added back to the cast, and wouldn't object to Althea staying. For all its faults this season, I never believed the show would have the balls to kill Madison and Nick. However those decisions got made, it's a welcome contrast to other shows, (like Grimm and Sleepy Hollow), that chose to go down in flames with TPTB screaming that their fans were too stupid to appreciate their horrific lead actors/characters. For that matter, it's a welcome change from the mothership show where TPTB killed popular characters in a giant middle finger to the fans. This show chose a near-total reboot, added a fan favorite from the mothership, and added at least one immensely likable character (John) who's already proving to be popular with the fans. Removing Madison as their initially preferred heart and soul of the show, and killing off Nick, their initially preferred hearththrob of the show, were good choices imo. It's the only hope the show had of surviving, and possibly even evolving in a positive direction. How we got to this point is a pretty messy affair, but I'm actually looking forward to what they plan for this essentially all-new show.
  13. The scariest part of this episode was when I thought, since Simon used his golden buzzer on a guy with a barely mediocre voice, does it mean this might be one of the best acts we can expect in the upcoming audition rounds?
  14. Now you've gone and cursed us, @bluepiano. We'll be getting a child singing Hallelujah now, I just know it. :-)
  15. For those still keeping score, the Spoiling Dead Fans facebook page has two spoilers. First, Baby Hershel (spawn of Maggie) will be in episode 9.01 and he will be between 6 mos - 1 yr old. There will be a 12-18 month time jump. Second, also in episode 1, Maggie will have Gregory publicly executed by hanging after he uses alcohol to bribe some alkie named Earl to murder Maggie. Maggie and Enid will both be injured in the assault, but neither fatally. Enid will be in a wheelchair, but only temporarily.
  16. LOL! I may join you in the corner with the people who only read the live threads to laugh and join in the mocking, but never watch the show.
  17. @peach LOL. As with everyone/everything else on this show, they'll get back to it when almost no one remembers it was ever there or, if anyone does remember, they stopped caring about it long ago.
  18. Checking in to see if I was in a minority of The Voice fans who find this season underwhelming, and that's putting it kindly. I just took it off my season passes. I will miss it, but not enough to watch any of these contestants sing again.
  19. Thanks for that info! TIVO looks ahead 2 weeks, and they're showing no upcoming episode 20 on the regular night of 4/26. If nothing comes up for the following week (May 3) after it updates again, I'll report back. At least I'm really happy to know that episode 19 isn't the finale. Thanks again.
  20. Can anyone tell me how many episodes are in this season? Everything online indicates 18 episodes, however this week's episode is #19 and nothing indicates it's the finale episode. I also found one article that mentioned the producers have confirmed the finale episode title will be "No Man's Land". TIVO season pass is showing no episodes after #19. Color me confused, and appreciative of any further info.
  21. A long time, okay? But this isn't just war, it's War-War! :drinks:
  22. It's an interesting topic (to me). The litigation consulting company, A2L, teaches the meaning of eye movement using the VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) learning style for a variety of courtroom purposes. http://www.a2lc.com/eyechart I love it when that happens!
  23. I'm just watching that episode now and being reminded of only one of many many reasons I'd never appear before JJ. I'm an extremely predominant auditory style learner. Typical of someone with this learning style, when asked to answer a question involving something I have to remember, my eyes always look directly sideways toward one of my ears. (Typical visual learners will look up, and typical kinesthetic learners will look down.) If I had an interrogator yelling at me every time I looked sideways, rather than directly into their eyes, when I was trying to recall/recount an event, I would be rendered nearly speechless.
  24. I'm sure you're right. I'm kinda expecting Dead Gaven and Dead Jared to hang around Morgan too, repeating, "You were suppsed to!". The other mildly interesting tidbit from FTWD spoiler is that Morgan gets to Texas (where that show is centered) by running, walking, and driving for many days and nights. So, no helicopter transport and no time jump. Unless TWD finale brings back the helicopter in some other capacity, I guess that's just one of those things we're all expected to talk about and bite our nails over until next fall. As if.
