  1. That was exhaustingly awful. I don’t think I can keep watching this.

    S07.E03: Capsized

Ok, I’m just going to say it. I despise these Big! Disaster! Episodes! and this show does it way too often. Major earthquake. Tsunami. Now we relive Posidon Adventure with THREE episodes. Not sure my eyes will survive the gigantic eye roll.
  3. Yeah, Dan & Shay aren’t really working for me but they do seem nice. They couldn’t find a female singer for this season? I miss Niall but like Chance a lot. John Legend is a great guy but I am a bit sick of his smuggery. I think I just miss the judges from early seasons. Oh well. There’s a few good voices so far but my biggest pet peeve is Carson screeching from the sidelines during the auditions. So annoying and pointless.
  4. Oh, come on Maria, that was incredibly manipulative & I cracked up when Joey called her bluff. He’s a smart man & Maria may have burned her boats with him. We’ll see. And BTW, she’s no introvert. Believe me, I know ‘em when I see ‘em.
  5. I’m way behind so posts seem irrelevant but…. That was fair. Glad they decided to let it ride for another week and that Tasha is coming back. Such a great bunch of bakers! I usually don’t care for the smuggery but like Dan in spite. Love Nikki and Saku. It’s hard to see anyone go. I do like Allison & she’s certainly an improvement but wish she’d just dial it back a tad.
  6. Not much more I can say. Lesley Manville was remarkable. Like others, I was confused at young Elizabeth looking so much like Claire Foy. With all its faults they’ve done some excellent casting on this show and none better than this season but this was, by a mile, the best episode in a long time.
  7. The story arc for Doc Charles and the new guy is pretty predictable. Come on, show, surprise me for once. Ditto, Dr. Ahmad who promises Goodwin she’ll stop going rogue then immediately goes rogue. But she saves everybody!!!!!! Then there’s Maggie. Grow up, dear, you caused the mess, deal with it.
  8. I’m sorry. I’m probably old-fashioned but how can you send away “someone you’re still very much in love with” five minutes before you get engaged to someone else? This is so weird to me. I felt the same after Desiree’s strange ending but, hey, it worked out great for her and Chris so maybe it’ll be the same for Charity and Dot-uhn. I hope so because they both seem like good people.
  9. So Brayden found beets in the woods of Washington. Sure.👀👀
  10. I hate the stupid competitions with zero to scant clothing. It’s cheap and pointless but I’m afraid we’re going to get more of it especially if the travel is ramped down as I suspect. Seems like there are some good guys in the bunch and then there’s Brayden. Braydon, we all know you get roses to satisfy the producers idea of entertainment. You’re a poser and you look ridiculous. Hopefully you’ll be shipped off soon. Good luck on your next audition. (My gran wants her earrings back.)
  11. I read that they will introduce Richard Carmody in series four, presumably to take the place of Tristan. In the books, Carmody was a minor character in one chapter of the second book. A student interning with the practice for a short time. An interesting character, rather upper-class and proper who met his match in a large animal practice but went on to greatness in the field of veterinary medicine. In this version of the show, who knows what he’ll become. Love interest for Mrs. Hall? Could go just about anywhere. I’m sure they’ll surprise me.
  12. Funny, because this is one of the very few things in this new version that actually happened in the books only he was wearing that attire for comfort in summer heat. James was mercilessly mocked by the farmers for his unorthodox shorts. This is a beautifully filmed and well-acted version of the books but the radical and nonsensical changes from the books make it difficult for me because the books were not total fiction. Alf Wight added and exaggerated things but they were based on his journals.
  13. I miss rescues which should be the general premise of a show titled “911.” I like Buck but got annoyed on his behalf. Just go upstairs, climb in bed and don’t answer the door. It’s not that hard. This is a good show so don’t mess it up, showrunners. I quit watching the stupid Texas version after 2 episodes and 1000 eyerolls.
  14. Not bad but as others have said, I’m not sure I’ll continue to watch. I did like the actress playing Joni which might bring me back. While I would certainly have sympathy for someone who lost their hand, when he testified I kept thinking, “Dude, Bethany Hamilton gave birth to and cared for three babies with only one arm. I think you can manage to hold your niece.”
  15. Thank you. I’ve thought that from the first episode. Even with make-up. I love London but I found it more overwhelming historically than anything else. Romantic and perfect place to fall in love? Nah. In Bachelor/ette World every location is the “perfect place to fall in love.” I’ve been a tea drinker since I was a young teen & that was a long time ago. I even buy the good stuff from the UK but a tattoo? Nope, never would have occurred to me.
  16. I can’t get past Goodwin saying they were expecting “10 inches if ice.” Surely she must mean snow. Does Chicago get 10 inch ice accumulation? Anyone?
  17. Thank you, I’m glad to know this. I have the book on my iPad but haven’t finished it yet so missed that. Takes the sting out of it a bit but her story is still very sad. Coming from real life rather than a writer makes it all make more sense and tells me I need to finish the book(s). Watching the first three seasons I miss the wonderful soundtrack of the early seasons. I’m sure the rights to the songs became problematic but it gave such a sense of time and place.
  18. Doing a rewatch before I cancel Netflix again. Oddly, I’m watching back-to-front which is an interesting way to do it. Anyway, what I have grown to hate is what they did to the character of Cynthia Miller. She was a delightful character, showing increasing maturity, growth and a shy sense of fun. Having her take the veil, be attacked then end up in a mental institution seemed so pointless. Backwards or forwards it stands out as an awful storyline choice. Just my take.
  19. Doesn’t happen when you actually live in the desert. The winds just stir up dirt, dust and everything else not nailed down. The only place that was tolerable for me in the the Santa Ana’s was being near the ocean.
  20. It’s not that kind of wind, not even close. Hard to explain if you haven’t lived with it. I lived with Santa Ana’s for 40 years & hated them. Again, hard to explain.
  21. Not an expert either but this is my understanding also. Those I’ve known have implanted no more than they could reasonably give birth to and raise. I was put off by Glassman’s snide, judgy comment about that couple and selective reduction. But he pretty much annoys me most episodes, so…
  22. So, where was the bread? Worst Bread Week in the entire series.
  23. Oh yeah, she had work done. Cheeks higher & lifted which make her eyes look different. Why did she think she needed it? Yikes, Eddie, the worst thing you can do is panic & screech while hubs lies on a gurney with a bullet in him. Over the top writing and acting. And what makes Eddie think she & Jamie should be an exception to policy? This irritates me.
