    11 April

    4 p.m. episodes-

Pregnant Dog Bashing-Plaintiffs Sarah and David White suing defendant/Pit Bull owner William Fish, and wife for vet bills, and for an assault by defendant on David White.  Plaintiffs were fostering a Min. Pinscher, dog got out to neighbor’s yard, and defendant William Fish's pit attacked and slammed the little dog.     Plaintiff David alleges Fish assaulted him about the first dog incident.

Fish's much younger roommate, Zach,  of several years (roommate looks so much like my cousin) claims all kinds of garbage about how the plaintiffs attacked the dog and Fish.  Roommate claims to have called the police.  Camera catches Fish congratulating Zach about his testimony.  (This was all in Seattle WA).

Then, a second attack was when the pit ran onto plaintiff's property, and was attacking a smaller, much older dog, and plaintiff wife drove pit away with kicking and hitting to save the little dog.   Denise is the plaintiff's witness who saw the second attack.

Then, some woman is defense witness who claims she saw all kinds of things, and that the Pit is a very nice dog, that the dog was actually attacked by plaintiff wife.

Plaintiff woman feels very badly about attacking the pit, but as JJ said, if a dog was savaging my dog, I'd do anything to get it away from my dog.

Plaintiffs submit the animal control report and vet bills.

Plaintiffs say in hall-terview that defendants were actually squatters, and were evicted finally.  Defendant's ridiculous counter claim is dismissed, with extreme prejudice.

Plaintiffs get almost $746 in vet bills.

Monte Carlo Hijinks-Plaintiff Fernando Muniz sold ex tenant a car for $1,000, but defendant Kayla Miner, only only paid $500, and paid nothing else.

Plaintiff also alleges that defendant pried open door, and damaged it. Defendant claims the car broke down, so she junked it.

    $500 to plaintiff for car.

I've Had Enough, I Want My Stuff"

    New, Season 10, Episode

    (Bradie Nelson vs. Jeffrey Fugate)

From the show site: A woman had recently moved across the country with her boyfriend but was visiting home for a funeral. While she was there, his ex-wife told her he was breaking up with her. She claims he's now refusing to return her belongings. He says she can have everything - he's just not going to pay for shipping.

Plaintiff/ex-girlfriend suing defendant/ex-boyfriend for the cost of shipping her property to her, $5000 for the value or return of plaintiff's property consisting of 20 or so boxes of property.   $3708 is what defendant wants for moving and storage fees for plaintiff's property.    They broke up three years ago.   Plaintiff moved from Oregon to Oklahoma.  Ex-wife and defendant's mother both got involved, with defendant's mother texting plaintiff that she needed to bring a sheriff's deputy when she picked up her stuff.

Plaintiff went to Orgon for her sister's funeral, and that's when the ex-wife told plaintiff that she had been dumped, and couldn't go into defendant's mother's, Sharon Fugate,  storage unit.

Defendant's mother claims the text was from plaintiff, saying she was coming with a U-Haul, and bringing a Sheriff's deputy, and that she's going to go through the mother's house to see if any of her property was in Mrs. Fugate's house.   Mrs. Fugate said Brandie wasn't welcome in her home.

Defendant says he wants storage and moving costs for moving plaintiff's storage items and keeping them safe for three years.

Plaintiff gave the judges an itemized list of the value of her property, $5,000.

Defendant mother claims the property was wet from being outside in Oregon, and boxes didn't get wet in her possession of the mother.

$5,000 for plaintiff for her stuff.  ( I wouldn't have given plaintiff a penney, she had no proof of what was actually in the boxes, and I refuse to believe 20 boxes of stuff is worth $5,000.  Plaintiff's demand to go through the defendant mother's house was ridiculous.)

  3. There is a new method for implants.  They use general anesthetic, and put the anchors in higher than the jawbone implants.  That means no healing time unlike with conventional implants.  You leave with a full set of implant/dentures.   They had a demonstration surgery at a local excellent surgery center.    There might be surgeons looking for demonstration patients, who get the surgery free.

Also, if you live near a dental school, they have low cost clinics for oral surgery and regular dental care, and they are very well supervised, and cost is very low.

The health issues with infected teeth and gums are life-threatening, and so many of the poundticipants seem to have dental issues.

I more people had access to good dental care, but so many don't.    There's also the fear factor too.   The size of the patients is also a barrier too.  Many are so limited in mobility.   However, look how mobile Rose became with weight loss and diet change.   I hope she had successful treatment for her breathing issues from the final scenes too.   I'm hoping for a wonderful update on her.

  5. There have been some great episodes with successes this year. Delana, Krystal S., Abi, and now Rose.

Which is unusual compared to the last few seasons which made filming virtually impossible.  So, the producers showed anyone who would film apparently.  And surgery was not happening then either most of the time.

  6. Most places I've heard of have limited visiting hours, because it takes a lot of staff time to screen and handle visitors, limited space for visits, and so visits have a number of hours per month in federal prisons.

  7. So, Petit Fours in the preheat.  Kate's might have tasted good, but the sides are bare.   Steven's looked like teeth at first glance, but apparently tasted wonderful.  Alex did an outstanding job.   Robert's looked icky, and the berry seeds were a big mistake.  Rochelle's aren't a great decorating job.

I love the wreaths, none of the May poles looks that great, but I don't like that part of the challenge anyway.   Nickie's piping flowers for the first time was amazing.

I would have piced Robert's wreath for the win. But congratulations to Kate on her win, she produced an interesting wreath, not an especially attractive one though. I didn't see how she won this week though.  Robert's decorating job was spectacular.     Nickie and Rochelle on the bottom.   Bye to Rochelle.

I just saw an ad for "Next Baking Master-Paris" and it looks amazing.   Stephanie Boswell is so much fun, it looks like a great series.

I seriously thought she was going to die during or just after surgery. Even after she lost weight, her breathing was so labor s. I’m glad she did well and hope she is still doing so.

I was so worried for her during and after the surgery.    She seems like a wonderful person who had a hard life, and with such great support from her family, I hope her health has improved, and she has a long, happy life.

Another thought about the dental issues, I hope Dr. Now or someone helps her find a dentist who will give her free dental services in return for publicity.   I think Benji had that, and it's life changing.    I grew up very middle class, had regular dental visits, but I knew so many other kids who had parents with paid dental, etc., and they never went to the dentist.   Their parents though nothing was needed for baby teeth, which is wrong, especially in an area where there's no fluoride in the water.  I worked with so many people through the years who never go to the dentist until something goes wrong.    People simply don't realize how dangerous dental issues are to your health.   It breaks my heart that Rose has to suffer with dental issues.   I hoping for a great WATN about her, she's such a nice person, and really tried to do her best.

    4 p.m. episodes-

Teenage Loan Sharks-Plaintiffs Lisa and Earle Forbessuing son's 18 year old friend Dylan Whitefor unpaid loans.   One loan was for car repairs, and the other loan was for jewelry bought by defendant, but put on plaintiff's son's credit.

Defendant was also giving car insurance money to plaintiff's son, and defendant claims that cancelled out the jewelry money.     JJ calls the son about the insurance/loan. and son claims defendant never prepaid the insurance.

Defendant owes $185 for jewelry, and for car repair loan, $497.    Plaintiffs receive a total of $682.

Subletters From Hell-Plaintiff apartment landlord Ashley Gilchrist rented room to defendants, and is suing for  alleged damages by defendants, Jenny Francois and Ja-Quan Bradley.   Defendants say they received a notice that plaintiff owed back rent, so they stopped paying rent to the plaintiff.   Defendant didn't pay for January, and moved the end of the month (they owe $1,000).    There are pictures on move in, and as the defendants moved out.  There is a big hole in the wall, and the defendants hung a calendar over it.    Defendants are claiming for $3k for all rent back, and harassment.

    $1337 to plaintiff.

  10. I love the Chicago new episode with the woman with a $500,000 budget trying to find a home that her daughters will love to come back to visit in.

$480,000.   Three bedrooms, and lacking storage. The first house that's 125 years-old, but totally redone is spectacular.

The second home is in the neighborhood of Barack Obama, pre-presidency.   This house is 1890's and is virtually gutted, and still $499,000.   It needs a lot of work, and a much bigger deck.  Basement is nice, needs some finishes though.  Second floor is an odd layout.  At least it's 4 bedrooms. Primary bedroom is huge, third floor is needing a lot of work, and realtor suggests that would be the house hunter's future main suite.    Realtor says after reno is complete, that the house would be worth almost $2 million.   The homebuyer has such great taste in clothes, I bet that would carry over to remodeling this house.    It could be a super investment for her.   She would only have to fix the second floor bathroom, and finish the kitchen for now, and do the basement stair fix.  Then, do the third floor finishes while she lives in the existing main bathroom.  second floor needs a deck, but until then, secure that door to nowhere better.

Third house 4 bed 3.5 bath new build.  It's super modern.  $475,000. I love the floors, coat closet (so few houses have this), but the location is an huge issue. 2 car detached garage, nice deck and yard.  Basement is great with a beverage/wine center.  Closets are huge, primary bedroom is gorgeous, and so are the rooms for the kids.    I don't like the flat roof.

She buys #1, with the good location, and great neighborhood.

I have to say that the women on this episode have such great taste in clothes. I love everything all three of them are wearing.   I really love the house hunter's lovely dress in the opening scene.

  11. How amazing, five women champions.

I love Jet Tila, and hope someday he wins.  But this is an amazing competition with so many competitive chefs, and many happen to be women.

Congratulations to every chef who competed, and Antonia and Maneet who had a thrilling finale.   Congratulations to TOC Champion Season 5 Maneet.  A great finale.

  12. Remember the couple in Florida, it was quite a few years ado.  He was an attorney, and they were looking for a true mansion, for the two of them and their son that they mentioned in virtually every sentence.  I don't remember the kid's name, maybe Preston.   The house was so big you would need a map to find your way around.   (Preston Barrington III, thanks for remembering that Bastet)

  13. New tonight, "Welcome to Laurel",

From Titan TV: Ben and Erin help the Laurel Housing Authority convert a historic building into the town's first visitor's center, while also taking on the restoration of a 1930-1940 public housing project, Beacon Homes opened in 1938. .

Laurel has 1600 new businesses in the last seven years, and 200,000 visitors a year.   Michael the architect who owns Zeus, and the head of the housing authority want to transform the original housing project in Laurel, from the ealy 1940's into a visitors center.   Except for the one building Ben and Erin are transforming, the rest of the public housing was demolished and replaced with modernized housing.

There will be a restored roof and porticos, and the entrance will be off the back parking lot.   There will be one unit that looks like the original housing for historical purposes.  One end housing unit will be the exhibit, and thre rest of the building will be transformed to historical exhibits, bathrooms, and the visitor center.

They have original plans for the unit that will be a time capsule of the original apartments.

Rodney, the owner of Lott furniture is donating a 1940's radio, some bedroom furniture, and Erin will source a dining table, sofa, and main bed.   Erin and Amanda, the designer, are on the local radio station asking for donations of late 30's and early 40's furnishings and decor for the apartment. A moving company donates an original fridge.  The front doors will have copper awnings.  Ben will use the original blueprints to recreate the minimal amount of kitchen cabinets they had in the 40's.   People are donating items, a still working 80 year old stove.

A woman who lived in the housing her entire life is donating items too. Miss Mildred lived in the projects for 53 years, and she's donating some lovely dishes and kettle,

It's amazing how few cabinets and room space people lived in then.   The bathroom only had a tub, not a shower attachment.

A local artist is painting miniatures of the murals around Laurel on the fence.  Leontyne Price and Ralph Boston, both raised in Laurel will be honored also at the museum.  There is a community center doing a mosaic for the visitors center, the community is participating.

The bathroom plumbing won't be connected to water, and there is no toilet in the bathroom (so no one will use it).

I love the photos and furnishings.  I love the mosaic mural.  What a wonderful addition to the town, produced by the townspeople.

I love hearing from people who moved into the projects,  and how great it was to move into a home with hot water, and a clean well-built place to live.  I love the furnishings, with the inlaid wood on the dressers.  I love hearing people like the Mayor who grew up in the projects.

  14. On tonights episode, the third of the Triple Play videos shows a man who claims there's something funny about the automatic transmission.    It's a Kia Soul, and if you put it in Sport mode, you can shift it kind of like a manual.   Maybe if he wasn't so impaired, he would notice the "Sport" mode light on the dashboard.

  15. "Tappahannock Is for Lovers"

    New, 4/5/2024

A couple met as he was recovering from a devastating injury, and now with a big lottery win, they're ready to find a dream home in Tappahannock, Virginia. They want a quiet, small-town life, so David sets out to find the perfect country home.

$912,000 win in the Virginia lottery.    Jennifer won the lottery, and Brad had a life changing injury, they met right after his injury.  He's had 17 surgeries.

Wishlist- 3 bed 2 bath, 1500 sq ft and up, acreage.  Brad is willing to remodel, and has built entire homes, so a fixer works.  $350,000 to $375,000.  Tappahannock is a small city.

House 1-Starling Straights-turnkey remodel in town- 3 bed, 2 bath,1560 sq ft, $395,000.   House is beautiful with lovely beams and hardwood floors, kitchen is huge.   First floor main suite, that's huge and lovely, with a wood stove, ensuite is nice with a tub/shower combo.  2 bedrooms upstairs, with another bath. backyard needs work but it's huge for in town.  They could build a guest cottage in the back yard easily.

House 2-Northern Knoll -15 minutes from town-on 2 acres, surrounded by 100 acres of farm land,  3 bed, 2 bath, 1590 sq ft, $369,500.   Unfinished basement.  lovely hardwood floors, big living room, with a nice fireplace,  (my one worry is if the surrounding farm land will stay farm land).   Main bedroom is smaller than #1, with an ensuite.  David says to add 500 sq ft to enlarge the main bedroom and bath.  Kitchen is stunning, and a huge deck.  Basement is unfinished with a pool table.   Basement is a walk out.

House 3-Goldenrod Gulch in the neighboring countryside 30 mintues from Tappahannock -3 bed, 2 bath,1400  sq ft, $339,900.   In a development, but not too close to neighbors.   living room has capet, but a vaulted ceiling, 3 bedrooms and main bath are nice, but David says to push the walls out for bedroom and bath out.   Kitchen is cute, but not huge.  Back yard has a big deck, above ground pool, detached garage.

They buy #2.  The pool table in the basement was a big hint that even I caught onto.

(from the description of the 12 April episode, they claim the buyer has the biggest budget ever. Bigger than the mountain top mansion in the first season?)

  16. Sharks-Guest Shark Emma Grede, Kevin, Robert, Lori, Mark.

Richualist Hair Styling Tool-an all-in-one styling device for textured hair.  She wants $150,000 for 10%. The Mint is a 3-in-1 styling system.   Load pod with styling products, it streamlines the curling and matting problem, and saves time. It works on 4C hair, but works on any hair texture.   She sells the tool, and the pods with a possible sponsorship with major beauty lines for specific products (L’Oreal, and Proctor & Gamble).   The unit costs $400 each, but the price to manufacture is down to $60, reduce the styling tool price to $200, and the pods will be a subscription service.    It took Dawn five years to build and manufacture this product.   She owns 72% of the company after the convertible notes are paid off.

Kevin drops out, in favor of a Shark with hair.  Robert drops out too.   Lori has a conflict of interest, and drops out.   Mark has great advice to sell the styler, to let the pods be a sponsored item later.  Emma is interested, but says the styling tool is the star, not the pods.    Emma makes an offer, with Mark, for $150,000 for 20%.

Emma and Mark make the deal for $150,000 for 15%, and 5% advisory shares. I’m so happy for her, and think she should stay at $400, it’s equivalent to Dyson hair dryers and stylers.

Hibear Insulated Bottle-a water bottle $150,000 for 5%, multiple use water bottle.  The bottle has multiple uses because it has sections, tea or cocktail strainer, thermal core keeps items cold without diluting them.  It all nests in the bottle.      The perfect corporate gift, with different colors and boxes that can be customized.    $15.50 to make, $95 to sell.  They do 40% corporate,  direct to consumer, projecting $1 million this year with adding Amazon.  Company isn’t profitable yet.    Kevin says don’t do retail, just direct to consumer and corporate should be emphasized.   Mark agrees with Kevin.   Mark the seller wants to expand the line too.   Mark is out.  Emma is out, it’s too early for her.   Kevin is out.  Robert is out.    Lori is out, too much competition in the space, and it’s too early for her.

    No deal.

Veba Baby Bottle-a baby bottle monitor that signals spoiled milk, and expired breast milk using an app.  Monitor attached to bottle, and tracks the temperature, sent to the app.  They want $150,000 for 15% equity.   You need one device per bottle, and they sell one bank at a time.   Consumers purchase an average of two devices, at $89 per device.   They only launched five weeks ago.    They want the money for marketing.  They have 2,000 units in inventory.  There’s also a ‘find my bottle’ feature.  Emma is out, and doesn’t see the need.  Robert is out.  Mark gives the sellers great advice, says pitch to buyers for gift reasons, and he’s out.   Kevin is out. Lori is out, says it’s too early.

    No deal.

Splash Swim Goggles-swim goggles designed to be gentle on hair. Ashley and Karen want $200,000 for 5% of the business.   Swim goggles that are strong elsatic, easier than elastic straps, it has a stretchy fabric goggle instead of the straps.   They are patent pending, with the swimsuit fabric strap.

After family tragedies Ashley started the business to support her family.   Sales are $6.1 million lifetime.   Business started in 2017.  Anticipate $1.8 million for 2024.   They have a website, retail, swim schools, and on Amazon.   They have home sewers that produce the goggle straps.    Margins are great.   Less than $150,000 lifetime for advertising.  They want mentors, and development money.

They want to make larger goggle molds. No outside investors.     Kevin says they don't need a Shark or other investor.   Robert is out, but will be a customer.   Lori offers $200,000 for 10%.

Deal with Lori for $200,000 for 10%

Update: The Duo, two handle umbrella with Robert.  They have a partnership with Shed Rain.  Selling at Target, REI, Macy’s, and on Amazon.  Robert, Kevin and Candace Nelson appeared at the entrepreneur’s high school.

Iconic Moment: Wicked Good Cupcakes, deal with Kevin.   This was the first royalty deal in Shark Tank history.  Company later sold for a huge deal to another company.

  18. There is an article claiming to explain the Tom C. remark about David opting out.  It really doesn't explain anything, but simply says 'opted out' in a different way.    So, I'm guessing we'll never know the exact way it happened.   Tom did say that cheftestants are all offered the option of LCK, so I'm thinking it all happened the way we guessed, David refused to compete any more.    I think Soo would have easily beaten David anyway.

  19. I remember on last season's international edition, the chefs who were from other countries said that their version of Top Chef was very different, so I think it takes a while to get used to the way the U.S. competition is operated.
