  1. Thanks Landsnark for taking one for the team and watching both MJ and Fox for us.
  2. Then Joe needs to get a new accountant. Half my paycheck goes away each paystub, but that is what all of the middle/upper class tax breaks are for: mortgage deductions, 401Ks, donations to causes, carried losses, leasing, write-offs, etc.
  3. I've killed my share of trees :) However the legacy blueprints I've seen are more "faded denim" than "indigo blue". But I can see how it would be easier (exposition wise) with the bit of dark blue corner taped to the wall than just a big paper printout.
  4. I swear, I'm now getting to the age where I need big bubbles over people's heads to identify who they are. The mandatory name dropping isn't cutting it for me anymore. "The soldier" or "the spy" or "the tall" one helps anymore. :(
  5. I'm reading How the British Lost America. Really interesting book. Just as we learned in HS that not everyone in the States were pro independence, not everyone in England or the Parliament wanted to keep the America. An hour of a GW soliloquy was annoying.
  6. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought it was weird. On a different show, they had a double door (with the crash bar) that pushed inward. The way that Hector's girlfriend was talking, it really sounded like she helped with the witness not showing up.
  7. She was wearing very stylish glasses. I remember the first time I tried to put on contacts...It took me 30 minutes to put one one and another 20 for the other. Getting them off also took forever. I was a slow learner. I now don't use mirrors to take them off or on. I'm curious what boar bacon tastes like now. I'm sure it won't have nearly enough fear though.
  8. Joe was defending Fox News. I think he's looking for a bailout.
  9. Oh hey, "blueprints" aren't blue anymore. We typically PDF the drawings, even big ones can be printed from PDFs and use laser printers to plot them on paper. Using blue prints would be similar to seeing prints from a ditto machine. Its possible, but unlikely. Agent Dark, how did you like the scene from S3 "Deus Ex Machina" where the explosives were wired through a disconnect switch and the team needed to disarm the bombs before power came back on. No one thought to throw the switch. (sigh) Watching TV when the writers don't understand electrical hurts.
  10. I now feel for all of the doctors and lawyers who watch TV. The penultimate scene in the "substation" was almost physically painful to watch. 7200VAC transformer? Then down to 5VDC jumper cables? I guess I should translate it as "Root, we must [electrical] by the [electrical] to [electrical]. Throw words in a blender because 99% of the people won't get it and of the remaining 1% (0.5% don't care). I did love the walking out with Pink Floyd playing. :)
  11. I could have sworn this has happened before. Either on this show or another. What did they do with the food from Christina-Burke & the Avery/Kepner cancelled weddings? I suppose one way to shut up Amelia would be to drop the medical records on her and walk away. People have different reactions to death. I guess I don't "feel" the "I didn't have a chance to say goodbye" if the person is in a coma/life support. The person you knew is gone, its just a shell. Too many years of watching a person in a coma - diapers, feeding tubes and no plug to pull.
  12. Notice how the evaluator really didn't care if she was abused or raped by her brother. Just wanted to know if that was her motivation for doing harm to others.
  13. As awful and destructive as Aubrey has been this season, I have to give her props for stepping up and owning her life. Most of the players stories are coming to a close in this show, but I hope that Gwen doesn't get a nice bow. I want a program that shows that damage lingers for years and it might get worse.
  14. The one scene that bothered me was with the beers. Because everyone counts rounds from weapons, I kept track of the beers. Bow threw a beer that went through the window, but the next scene of them - three finished beers on the table & everyone had a beer. Bow next doesn't have a beer and grabs Raven's beer, cut away to everyone holding a beer. This is what I choose to focus on. :p
  15. I really wanted Diane to break out the word "portmanteau". Spanglish! Only because that is an awesome word.
  16. The dad found a box full of pictures when he was going through the garage. The found pictures from when the boys were growing up, but there were also pictures from his time in Iraq/Afghanistan (?). They showed him holding up the head of a dead body (body faced down) to show the face, pissing on the dead body and the squad holding the dead body. I don't remember any others. The dad burned the pictures on the gas stove.
  17. We also find out from the Brother and the pictures that the son wasn't an angel/hero and did things over there that Matt wanted to keep from the light of day.
  18. All cats are different. My cat bit the string off of one of the wands and just goes after the tip of the wand only. I bought them a want with a long ribbon on the end. you'd of thought I was going to flay them alive. I should just cut the ribbon off and just use the wand.
  19. I'm starting not to like the conflict avoidant son. Dodges the meeting with mom, Does another thing in this ep that bothered.
  20. I'm surprised the neuro didn't shat his pants when Mer introduced herself as "Dr Grey". The name associated with TWO Harper-Avery awards? The woman who pioneered whatever-method the writers mentioned in the first season. Congrats guy! You just killed THE Dr Shepard and the husband of a Grey.
  21. I was trying to give you tax advise! Which seemed pretty sound.
  22. I know people like that who chose to make those self destructive choices and still blame others for what is happening to them. Realistic show where you might not like what you see. This is the train wreck of people's lives right there. I usually wait until I'm in a good mood to watch this show. I enjoyed Better Off Ted when it was on, but a friend's dad couldn't watch it because even though it was a comedy, it was too close. I refuse to see Horrible Bosses. I lived it for 20 years. To me, it isn't funny.
  23. Wasn't there SEVERAL previous eps where the boyfriend played with the cat like a dog and wondered why they kept getting lit up? Cats are CATS, not dogs. Watch the show. Jackson was annoyed at one couple that was trying to use his techniques about introducing cats to each other, but at least they WATCHED the show. I was surprised by one couple that had a couple of cat trees in the house, but they had two behaviorists before Jackson came by, which made sense.
  24. You'd look at people's apartments and say to yourself "Where are the cat toys and trees?" Do they not notice that some cats like to play?
