  1. I'm annoyed at the lack of screentime for the scintillating Miranda Raison.  She was on "Spooks" aka "MI-5", the British TV equivalent of "24", for several seasons.  She clearly would have been comfortable in this environment, and yet here, they had her as secretary/aide to the Prime Minister, and she hardly had any lines at all.  What a waste of talent.  Would have been nice to have seen her as the British equivalent of Jack/Kate.

  2. Blackwing, IIRC, Jack Wagner left of his own volition.  He was none too happy about being asked to take a pay cut.

He was taken off contract, which essentially means he was fired.  He can spin it as a voluntary departure, but they didn't renew his contract, they said he could take a pay cut and go on recurring, and he said no.   So I guess it's the soap opera equivalent of someone in corporate America leaving a job and saying it was a "mutual decision".  It was in a way mutual... they fired him and said he could work part time, and he said thanks but no thanks I quit.  See http://www.tvguide.com/news/bold-beautiful-bradley-bell-1044542.aspx and http://tvsourcemagazine.com/2012/02/2354-jack-wagner-out-at-bold-beautiful/

I've always hated the Nick character but I especially loathed Crap Wagner.  He's just an extremely egotistical man.  He was like 50 years old and his craggy face looked it.  Anyone remember that blond kid Harry?  He was on the show for just a flash and then promptly fired.  The rumour is that they were going to make him Nick's son, and Crap thought he was too young to have a 20 year old son and demanded the firing.  I believe he also demanded a pay raise, which supposedly meant they had to fire others.  Darla was one of the casualties, I think Harry was one, and I believe there was one more but I can't remember who.  Of course, this is all rumour, but I remember we all talked about it on the other board back when it was all happening.

I wasn't watching when Eric ended his relationship with Donna.  I think that Donna's weight gain is actually quite flattering.  It's too bad that TIIC would rather put all their energy into the kiddie pool and the "Romantic Perils of Hope Logan" as if she's historical romance heroine, Skye O'Malley.  I would imagine that Stephanie would have wanted her widower to find happiness with someone else--even with Donna if that's what he wanted.
Jennifer Gareis was actually pregnant.  Not sure why they didn't write her pregnancy into the storyline.  Instead, they hid her behind plants and big bags, but the weight gain was noticeable in her face.  So they made up this ridiculous line about how Donna was Eric's trophy wife, and since she was getting fat, she wasn't worthy, and he dumped her.  She then disappeared.  I think they might have actually sent the character to a fat camp, or am I making that up?

  3. Blackwing, Nick was kinda phased out suddenly with not much explabation. I mean, TIIC had him nearly complete the Logan trifecta of boinking Donna before Wagner left on his own or was let go (I honestly forgot which happened). Regardless of how ruined the character was by then, nine years on this show deserved more than what he got, IMO .

Yeah, I remember that all of a sudden he just disappeared, it was odd. From what I recall, they asked Crap Wagner to take a paycut. They wanted to drop him to recurring and focus on the next generation (Hope, Liam, etc). Like the primadonna he is, Crap refused, so they fired him, and there was no "going back again".

It's odd that once people leave town that nobody ever thinks of them. What happened to that child he finally fathered after six or seven failed attempts? The one with Taylor where they thought it was her egg but really Brooke's? Taylor gave the child, Jack, to Brooke. Where is this child now? With Brooke? At boarding school with RJ? With Nick? Vanished/killed offscreen as if he never existed? So strange. Brooke has many faults but I do think she loves all her children, and even though she didn't intend for this one, I think she did care for him. But she never mentions him at all.

  4. Whatever happened to Nick anyways?  Is he still on a yacht sailing around the world?  I loathed Crap Wagner, but I'd love to see a recast Nick come back and do battle with Ridge.  It's always boring when it's just one man taking on another man, and the Bill vs. Ridge conflict is getting stale.  They swapped bedmates and they are still not happy.

Why isn't Donna going after Eric?  He dumped her because she was getting fat.  Even at her fattest, she was far thinner than Refrigerator Stephanie.  Stephanie's gone, Donna is still around.  I'd like to see her get a storyline again.

  5. When is this POS coming back?  I think it's soon, right?  I'm on the fence as to whether I want to keep watching.  I hate everything Ramos - Elena, Carmen, Drew, Joaquin/Nicholas.  And this show is way too much Ramos.  It's not even really "Dallas" anymore.  They should call it "Mexico".  I hate all of the Mexican-related storylines.  I don't care about the drugs, the cartels, the CIA, any of it.

I want more Ewings, less Ramos.  If this show can't do that, I'm done.

  6. There was the episode where the couple found clothes.  The guy who got really sunburned and lobster red found some underwear that just happened to be his size.  And they were briefs, so if they are too large or too small they aren't going to fit.  The electric blue colour looked pretty new, not faded or washed out like if they were actually drifting in the ocean for days.  I believe the girl also got some underwear.  Seems fishy that they couldn't find any other salvageable clothing.  If they had found anything else, he would have put it on, as he was suffering badly from the sun.  They conveniently find something that protects his genitals from the sun, since I'm betting that part of him suffered even more because of a presumed lack of regular exposure to the sun and was more sensitive.  Producers probably felt bad that they were giving him something, so she conveniently gets something too.

  7. I have a lot of hate for Ridge.  Hated Ronnnnnn Moss and now find myself hating this incarnation even more.  I've also pretty much always hated Katie.  But I've never hated them more than during Bill's confession.  After Ridge marched into Brooke's house last week and made his accusation, and then Bill admitted it.  When Katie did her little smirk and tossed her hair... I wanted to smash her face.  Aargh.

Ridge's line as he was banking the helicopter back and forth... "I didn't just study poetry in Paris."  Aargh.

If it weren't for the Australian accent, I think I would have thought that Ivy was Steffy.  I think she resembles Jacqueline Wood a lot, except with straighter and shorter hair.

Why on earth is Maya still being invited to an executive meeting?  She is a MODEL.  Why does she have any input on the future of Forrester?  Why was Othello sitting in the background at that meeting?  He's a DJ, I thought he was Steffy's friend.  If they are going to dredge up extras, why not bring back the Asian girl and the blonde (Madison and... ???) who were Thomas' girlfriends and have them sit at the table too?  Why don't we ever see these two anymore?  Why is Maya the lead Forrester model now?

  8. Been on holiday, saw part 2 but not part 3 yet.  I liked Dante, I thought he cooked well and his dishes were well thought out.  Lucy was a little too impressed with herself and her molecular gastronomy.  Why did she have to wait until the dessert round to try it?  I didn't see her using any techniques during the other rounds.  She said something like "I hope I can make it to dessert so I can show them what I can do".  The plump Jewish boy (sorry, I forgot his name) did some kind of vacuum seal thing in an earlier round, so it's not like she couldn't have broken out her "tricks" in either appetizer or dessert.

I hate to pick on a teen, but if they hadn't addressed her as "Mikayla" I wouldn't have known that was a female.  I kept thinking of the old Saturday Night Live skit, "It's Pat".  She was so androgynous looking, there was nothing about her that was remotely feminine.  And she said she was 13, but she was already so tall and large even by a teen male standard.  She was definitely strange and a little weird, the way she talked, etc.

  9. Just saw the episode with Owen who presented an unintentionally deconstructed cake clump and left his caramel on the stove top for the dessert round.

That's the same Scott Conant who hates raw red onion, right? What has happened to him? He grew a beard, got glasses, grew his hair and slicked it back? He looks awful. Like he put on 50 pounds.

  10. What is Deacon's motivation? Is it just revenge against Bill? Since when has he ever given a crap about Ridge? Why was he so proud of himself for wrangling out of Allison that Bill keeps his helicopter on his yacht? Why does he immediately go running to Ridge and Katie? Did he expect them to give him some stock?

And Katie was married to Bill for long enough to be "Katie Logan Spencer" in the credits. Has she never seen his yacht? How could she not know he has his own helicopter?

  11. Very rarely have I hated a man instantly upon sight. I was fortunate to miss the St. Louis prelims so this was my first exposure to "the Adonis". (I've also never really watched this show before this season.)

Let's see, so much to hate. The stupid hair. The menacing cro-magnon glare. The shirtlessness. Him talking so much about how he loves being the guy at the gym that everyone stares at. (I HATE that guy!). His dad talking about putting him on weight training since he was 12.

I was so incredibly happy when he failed. I rewound it so many times.

On the other hand, we have that unassuming father with glasses. Not looking for attention, and just gets the job done efficiently and powerfully.

  12. This show is losing it's "must see" shine for me.  Same challenges each episode.  Oh no! Can't start a fire! Oh no! Can't find some water! Oh no! What is outside our shelter?!

I kind of agree.  It's the same thing every time.  The only thing that's really different is the bare butts of the people facing the challenges.

In this manner, I tend to agree with Carrie.  Tom was completely satisfied just sitting there bored out of his mind for 21 days just looking for firewood and trying to avoid dying.  She wanted more of an adventure and something to do.

There's no prize for making it to the end.  It's all personal satisfaction.  So the people aren't necessarily motivated to do anything which would make for more interesting TV.  If I were running this show, I'd make it more like a game show.  They get some small monetary amount for completing certain tasks from a task list of maybe 20 tasks.  The harder the tasks, the more money you get.  For example, weave shoes out of palm leaves.  Retrieve crate containing "treasure" that's buried somewhere underwater in the bay.  Retrieve 3 papayas, hint, papaya trees are growing near the spot on your map marked with a green X.

Would make it way more interesting than just seeing them sit around.  They'd also probably really work as a team if money was involved.

  13. Yeah, supposedly the camera crew leaves at night, but they always seem to embellish things on reality shows.  Like how in Survivor Africa they made it seem like with all the wild animal noises that the contestants could be mauled by lions at any minute, but in reality, they had an enclosed compound with guards with guns watching over them.

  14. Let me guess... the guy is the alpha male, meat-eating hunter who cooks squirrels that run through his backyard.  The woman is the delicate vegetarian who can forage for berries and nuts and edible plants.

For once it'd be nice to break stereotypes and see a vegetarian dude paired with a girl that only eats meat.

  15. I'm wondering if there are safety consultants or whatnot on this show.  At least twice now we've seen the males kill a fer-de-lance, supposedly one of the deadliest snakes in the world.  Is there a survival guy that walks the path ahead of the contestants that is fully clothed and wearing steel boots?  I just can't imagine them letting people, even people who are willing participants, step on a snake.  I know in the first season one of the producers got bit by a fer-de-lance, and he wasn't naked and it looked awful.

Is there anyone at night that wards off creatures from the campsite?  What if a snake had slithered in and took a bite out of both of the people while they slept?

  16. I didn't think either of them were prizes.  She was a bit of a princess, but he was a bit of a passive aggressive jerk.  If he had an issue with cuddling naked for warmth with a stranger, then he shouldn't have signed up for a show called Naked and Afraid.  It's not like this was the first season.  He would have seen the show and known that he could possibly be put in an environment that got cold at night.

I did feel bad for her when she came back with clams and was so proud, and he's all, "you were supposed to get kindling".  Seemed like all he cared about was getting firewood.  When he came back with 7 clams she was so excited and happy.  Then he knocked over the water and made her feel bad about it, and wouldn't even help her when she was trying to fix it.

I'm curious if there were actual crocodiles in that water they waded through near the end.  She said she heard something big splash into the water.  That'd be unsettling.

  17. The problem I have with the whole Deacon storyline is that the only person that I can detect any kind of familiarity/feelings from is Brooke.  Because that relationship is the only one played by the same actors.  Even if they brought Bridget back, it wouldn't be the same.  Bridget was played by Jennifer Finnegan back then.  She was a good actress, albeit a bit overrated I thought, and I still remember the horror she displayed when she overheard her mother and her husband on the baby monitor.  If they brought Ashley Jones back, I'd feel like it was two strangers talking to each other.  This version of Hope has only seemingly known Deacon for a year or two.  And Katie wasn't even on the canvas until they got Heather Tom and made her the show's lead female character.

Deacon and Quinn would be a smarmy, evil team-up.

  18. The Medieval Times scenes were funny.  It seems to be Pam and Charlie's "thing".  Charlie said that Oliver made it the "best show ever", but really, apart from which knight ends up winning, it's the same show every time.  Everything is choreographed and scripted.  Curious, were they wearing the same outfits as they were during the first time we saw them going to the show?  Or do they happen to have multiple medieval costumes in their closets at home?  I bet Pam and Charlie would have a season pass if Medieval Times sold such a thing.

Why is Steffy's picture still in the credits?  Is the actress simply "on leave"?  They've introduced this new character Ivy.  If I were Jacqueline Wood and I still cared about being on the show, I'd go off leave and get back in.

  19. Frankly, I wouldn't watch a season with Kate Morgan as the lead.  To me, "24" IS Jack Bauer.  Without Jack and his mannerisms and catchphrases that have become so familiar, it's not the same show.

I really hope we get another season that starts with Jack being rescued.

  20. It makes no sense to me that Carter and Ridge are best buddies.  Ridge is like 50 years old.  Carter is like 28.  Ridge could be his father.  I'm not saying they can't be friends, but they wouldn't be best friends I would think.  Carter should be friends with Oliver and some of the other redshirts.  The ones that are always at the rooftop gym.

Just seems like an excuse to justify Carter's existence on the show.

  21. Don't think I saw it mentioned here.  But for the previous episode, we were discussing the Phillip Winchester character, and how possibly inappropriate it was for an Army Colonel to be in the inner circle.  In the finale, Heller enters a room, asks for a situation update.  "Admiral?"  The Phillip Winchester character doesn't hesitate at all.  No awkward glance, despite the fact that Admiral is a Navy rank.  Then later in the episode, Winchester is again addressed as Colonel.  Not sure if we are supposed to chalk this up to Heller's Alzheimer's, because if we were, they didn't do a good job of conveying it.  Winchester could have looked at one of his colleagues with a puzzled look, he could have pointed to himself in a "me???" manner, he could have just not answered necessitating Heller to ask him why he wasn't responding, etc.

  22. Jack has a family?

I'm assuming he's talking about Kim, her husband, and her kids.  I think she has two now.  Jack also has a nephew, the son of his deceased villainous brother, although I'm not sure how close they are.
